I am working on an intro to our website that has dog footprints go across the page. As they go across the center, they reveal the logo. My problem is each step reveals the logo ok, but when the next one appears the previous footprint disappears. Once the footprint mask reveals the logo, how do I get it to stay while the other footprints reveal the rest of the logo?

I am trying to create a simple interactive flash video, where the user moves the mouse over the image to reveal an image underneigth (almost like a rubbing-out effect).

I'm trying to add an animated logo effect using a linear gradient to create a glimmer effect, using a motion tween. In order to make it appear the logo glimmered with light every so many seconds.When I add a mask to the glimmer layer but the effect comes out obviously wrong. I read somewhere that in the action script I have to use "cacheAsBitmap" but that does not seem to effect anything.I found an example of the effect I am looking to do in a tutorial pertaining to text effectsI have seen this effect used thousands of times online, but there doesn't appear to be any tutor
View 6 RepliesI have plenty of ways of creating falling snow like effects, but a client has just comitted me to an effect as a test of my ability without talking to me first, that I am a little stumped by. use AS2 or AS3 for this project because of the filters and tween effects available to me.I need to have a top down falling snow effect (its actually supposed to be flour falling from a sieve but hey...). All the snow effects I know, fall down sideways on, from top to bottom, and then they disappear off the page (the flakes).I need the particles (movieclips) to fall downwards from a birds eye view, and 90% of them to disappear, but the remaining 10% to gradually (over about 5 seconds) build up a white logo (shape) in the middle of the screen.So I am guessing that I am going to have to be clever with dynamic masks to get the shape appearing a little bit at a time, and then I also need some random motion, and scaling as the particles fall downwards (and away) from the eye.

I have finally learned how to do a lighting mask to have the effect of the moving gleam across my logo, but whenever I try to create the effect (using different methods even) it isnt' working correctly. Only part of my logo is being affected by the mask. I have tried all the things that I can think of to make this work. So far the only thing that has worked is changing the vector logo into a jpeg and plugging it into flash, but I really don't want to do that due to resolution and cleaness of the image. I am including links to the 2 files - the original logo as well as the masking .fla file that I have been trying to make work.

I have an animated logo swf file that loads and runs once on the home page every time the page loads. The logo has been updated to appear in three different colour schemes. I want one scheme to load and when the page is refreshed or revisited, one of the other colour schemes to load in its place. They can appear in any random order, just a different one to the one that played before reloading.Can someone point me to an answer or tell me how to do it? I have found a way in JavaScript but this only works on plain images, not swf files.

I used Stage.align and onResize but the problem is that my logo ony aligns when you go to resize the window, and it "jumps" into place. I want it to pop up in the bottom right and then stay there, regardless of the window size. You can view it at This is my code:

I just started working on a preloader screen that includes a preloader mask over a logo and a percentage dynamic text. I can get either or to work but not both at the same time. I notice that if I remove stop(); I can get the percentage to work but not the preloader image. With the stop(); embedded the image preloader works but the percentage doesn't.

I've looked through the original flash files that came with it and tried everything I could think of. I am not having any success. I just need to center the logo and I am not getting it. View 3 RepliesHow should vector artwork be drawn in Freehand so that white details sitting over a blue base are still readable when alpha of e.g. 50% is applied in Flash 8 ? In Freehand 9 I created a logo. Logo has an rgb mix blue base rectangle and rgb white drawn shapes on top. I also drew over the text and gave it the rgb blue as a fill with line none. That sits on top of one of the white shapes.

View 2 RepliesI'm using Flash CS5, and Dreamweaver CS5 to build a site. I'm essentially just using DW as a placeholder for my flash file, which really is the site and all its content. The issue is a minor one, and I'd bet it's a trivial detail I'm overlooking. I saved the .fla file, exported it into my DW .html file, and then previewed it in IE. It looks great, but, when I mouse my cursor over any part of the .fla (basically anywhere in the site), a little box comes up that states what the name of the flash file is.

View 1 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

I have a startDrag function set up on a loader and mask that when the mouse is down on the loader it drags, when not it doesn't. There is also 2 buttons that control whether mask1 or mask2 is used. What i would like however is when the mouse is down - the area of the loader outside of the mask is visible but only by about 10/20% alpha, that way the user can see where all the image is while dragging. Is this possible? Full code can be seen below and i have attached the zip with the .fla file:

what i am doing is to make something along the lines of the "scriptable mask" tutorial Inigo was kind enough to put up.My idea is to have a large mask behind the whole of my flash site, this masks a colour image with a black & white one (nothing tricky). The image I am using is actually 5 separate images combined, and each is a pic of certain parts of the site.I also have a very basic set of buttons along the bottom... each corresponding to each section.
All I want is to set it up so that when I mouse over the buttons, the _x of the mask moves to correspond with the correct image... really very basic... or so I thought .If anything it should be easier to do than what is in Inigo's tut (where he uses the _x of the mouse to move the mask)... i just cant seem to get it to work with a nice easing effect (its easy to get the mask to simply snap to each coordinate, but I need it to smoothly move).
maybe point me towards a better way to mask. png file is way too big. I have been using the mask layer option to create my own mask around a jpg image by drawing around it on the mask layer. There has to be a fetter and faster way to do this. Is it possible to maybe have a specific color range have an alpha value of 0. Similar to green screening whereas If I put the item I want to clip on a green background flash will auto take out the green for me. and by auto I mean action script maybe. I think this can be done but im not finding it.
how are these guys clipping these images [URL] they have the movie clips set up where the black background on the 3 layers of shoes is getting masked out. When I go into the shoe movie clips I see there is a black background but it just disappears when I go back to main timeline.
ive gotten one movie clip to mask another in the actions frame but i cant seem to be able to mask the flames which are a shape with a movieclip in this as file. im not getting any errors but the mask isnt covering anything look near the bottom at s.mask=mask_mc; there are about 20 "s" shapes spawning per second if that has anything to do with it

It adds the file to a 0,0 x and y positio and I wanted to change that so I tried:
loadr.x=45;
loadr.y=15;
That doesn't seem to do anything though. I also wanted to set the height and width of the swf as it seems to be set to a default and that stretches it out a bit.
I just purchased a flash template and can not seem to find where I place the logo. The template now has a logo in text, but I want to replace it with an image.

I wanna import like a logo and a few other images which I want to have a transparent background. I understand save it as a png and click interlaced. But when I import it into the flash as a png the quality of my image is seriously reduced. How to import transparent images into flash as say jpg quality.

View 9 RepliesThe user uploads an image. After uploading is complete the image is displayed the screen. The user can select a particular pixel on the image. Accordingly the image should be removed of that color and made transparent. 1. i tried the getpixel and setpixel32 the image still is very blurr. 2. i also tried threshold its also of the same result - not able to see how to make the output of the image more crisp.
