I wanna import like a logo and a few other images which I want to have a transparent background. I understand save it as a png and click interlaced. But when I import it into the flash as a png the quality of my image is seriously reduced. How to import transparent images into flash as say jpg quality.

View 3 RepliesWell I have been having a major problem for the past four days. I imported 1 photoshop file into flash, everything was okay. I tried to import the others and an error message appeared stating that flash has crashed and has to close unexpectedly. I've re-installed flash and it does the same thing- so I know that isn't the issue. I have used other computers and it is still the same. I have been racking my brain everyday trying to figure it out. I checked the file sizes and they aren't that big and I compared them to other photoshop files I've imported and they are roughly the same size.
Also other photoshop files import, but the ones I actually want to use do not work at all. There is no way I'm re-designing 10 photoshop files!!
By the way when I saved some of the PSD files there was no extensions on the files, so I had to add them afterwards.
I just put together a banner image in photoshop that I would like to import into Flash and put a small navigation menu at the bottom but whenever I use the import to stage feature I am getting a large amount of discoloration in the image. I've tried saving it as a .tif and .png but both came out looking poor. Attached is an image to show what I mean.

It looks perfect when the stage is set to 100%. But when I shrink the stage (even in the SWF), the quality of the image becomes choppy and the edges of objects become pixelated. Same thing with enlarging it. The publish setting JPG quality is set to 100%. How do I fix this? It's mostly the quality of shrinking it that I'm worried about; this image/flash will go on a webpage & I plan to have it automatically adjust its size based on the browser's size.I'm using Flash CS5 with Actionscript 3.0.
View 3 RepliesI have a layer in photoshop that is shaped like an triangle, and I want to make it so that in flash when I hover over it, it changes to an 'active' version that is brighter, however whenever I try to import the layer (I've tried saving it as .bmp, .png etc) I can get it to import without the background, but the imported file is still a square (the image size). Essentially I need just the exactly outline of the layer, which is a shape, versus the entire size of the image!
View 1 RepliesI have about 5 layer groups in Photoshop and in each of the groups/folders there are some layers with some text and other layers with isolated images and also layers with some layer styles. When I import this file into Flash I need each of the layer groups to be imported as a flattened bitmap image. I don't want any of the text to be editable or to have any of the layer styles intact. So if there are 5 layer groups in Photoshop, I just need five bitmap images in flash. I've tried doing this but it still imports the layers separately. I know I can flatten the groups in Photoshop but I want to keep this file editable.

View 1 RepliesHow should vector artwork be drawn in Freehand so that white details sitting over a blue base are still readable when alpha of e.g. 50% is applied in Flash 8 ? In Freehand 9 I created a logo. Logo has an rgb mix blue base rectangle and rgb white drawn shapes on top. I also drew over the text and gave it the rgb blue as a fill with line none. That sits on top of one of the white shapes.

Is there a way to make Flash work with masks in the same way as in Photoshop?In Flash, for a mask layer to work, it needs to be in shades of transparency.In Photoshop, you can use a fully opaque mask layer, and the mask is applied by using the different shades of black and white.

Everytime Photoshop CS4 is open it will cause Flash Cs4 to Crash. I can work in Flash without any issues until Photoshop is opened. Flash will usually crash in under 5 min with Photoshop open. I have tested this over and over and it is Photoshop causing Flash to crash. Does not matter whether I am running the 32 or 64 bit version of Photoshop. I am starting to believe it is a memory issue but I am not sure or how to fix if it is.I have tested the memory and it passed all tests. This is really killing my production time.

View 7 RepliesI am using Flash and Photoshop CS5 for a college (HND) project (by which I mean, a single document for a Flash portfolio) and, Flash in particular, they keep appearing to freeze (i.e. they temporarily show as "Not Responding") whenever I save and take forever to save. My computer is quite low spec. (I intend to get another high-spec one but until that point) and possibly insufficient for what I am trying to run. However, I have only recently started having this problem and the saving is so slow that it is hampering my development of the project..
Is there at least a short-term solution to this? I really need to get on with the project and I can't when it's running like this. Flash also occasionally crashes so I can't risk not saving it regularly as I could lose work.

So, it is possible to import a psd file to flash and have it all positioned correctly, if the PSD file is set to "Maximize PSD File Compability", however, the files(layers) does not appear in the XFL save in the LIBRARY folder, and the alpha and quality is horrific probably because the layer is taken from the composite layer, and not the real layer in PSDok, no need to worry yet, all we want is the correct position, that would save a lot of time, lets export the file from photoshop with the script, "export layers to file", then import the files in flash to the files we already imported and replace them in the flash library, Now this is where the problem arise, the file in the library, has some 'special treatment' done to it, and it is still not saved in the LIBRARY folder in the XFL save. View 1 RepliesMy problem is this: I have 16 x different sizes of flash files. (banners) That's 1 set. Now I have to make another 20 different sets with 20 different logo's in them.(320 banners total) So the long and harse way to do this is open all 320 banners and then replacing the logo in them one by one.
My solution was to make 1 set and load a logo dynamically using the AS2 loadMovie function. But if I do that I have to have a logo image file in the same directory. My client doesn't accept this. He only wants flash files.
So, how do I embed a image dynamically on publish. So that if i'm finished with publishing banners I can just throw the image away because it's in the flash file loaded already.

I can't edit it in the sense that I am unable to go in and take the eraser tool and erase a section of the scene on that layer that wasn't created in Flash. I can draw on it in Flash and modify it that way. I can effect it via tweens enlarge, alpha transparency etc. But I can't erase part of the graphic that I created outside of Flash in Photoshop.I've tried erasing on the graphic itself, also after it's converted to a movie clip - inside the movie clip's timeline etc. It doesn't work. As I said , I can draw on it and effect it but I can't erase part of what was already in it before it was imported from PS4.
View 1 RepliesI'd like to draw key frames in Flash, just simple drawings/skelettons using the pen tool, basically to create the movement itself. After that, I want to export the frames that I drew as images to Photoshop in order to apply texture and colour, and then put them back into Flash again, without tampering with the Flash doc I've already created, since the animation is already done. I want the file(s) that I'm working with to remain the same files throughout the process, from Flash to Photoshop and back to Flash again, like the way InDesign works. Is this even possible?
If this isn't possible at all, I guess the alternative is to draw in Photoshop and then import the drawings into Flash, put them in order and then make any eventual changes after you've created the animation in Flash, this is less smooth though still possible. But here emerges (sort of) the same problem:
When I import images from Photoshop, create animation out of them, and then realize I have to make some changes in the original PS pic file I head back to PS to correct it. But it just doesn't work the way I want it to... If I modify the pic file in PS, then use the "update" alternative in Flash Library, Flash just tells me that the file can't be found, and does not update the image. If I choose the "edit in PS"-alternative from right clicking on a symbol that is in the library, the file opens as a .png file in PS, not as my original file! It seems to me that Flash is creating its own library, not using the existing document. Is there anyway to go around this? How do I make Flash use my PS file which allows me to change it as much as I want (as with InDesign)?
