Flash :: Image Effects That Can Be Created With Mx And Photoshop?
Jul 4, 2005
Does anyone know of any good image effects that can be created with flash mx and photoshop?
One that comes off the top of my head is having an image be drawn in with an outline, then having it fill in with white and then have the full colour image fade in. Another is this one [url]...
1) Is it better to pre=render things say in photoshop or have flash render them?
2) if I have a field of stars that drift along; is it better to create that Star Field in photoshop as a single picture (say a .png) or to create a star in my library and add it to a movie clip and then have that drift along?
Lets say I have a blur effect on my stars and have an equivalent on the photoshop.
3) I have heard (and experienced) adding effects like blur takes a fair amount of CPU and memory so was wondering if I created the effect in photoshop and then imported the 'blurred' object into my flash if I could cut down on system resources?
there are many flash with obviously too complicated video effects thsat impossible to create in Flash itself even with most advanced actionscript. I purchased couple of samples and it turns out its just sequence of images from the video i guess. So my question what video programs are used to create this and what effects packs are availible for flash or that video programs i rather buy stack than pay per each.
am using Flash CS5 and Photoshop CS3. The issue I am facing is while exporting from photoshop (optimized for web and devices) as png-24 , most of the images lose their quality inside flash. I have tried to make the publish settings for image quality 100. On lossless compression of the images, the image gets blurry. The total quality of display is highly degraded in flash in comparison to that of photoshop
I just put together a banner image in photoshop that I would like to import into Flash and put a small navigation menu at the bottom but whenever I use the import to stage feature I am getting a large amount of discoloration in the image. I've tried saving it as a .tif and .png but both came out looking poor. Attached is an image to show what I mean.
I am creating a plug-in for photoshop using javascript. I am trying to display a photo within my flash plugin window, but when I pass the address of the file to the mxml code, it uses a home directory indicator, and not a full file path. For example:C:Users***DesktopPicspicture_name.jpgis passed as ~DesktopPicspicture_name.jpgAnd the mxml can't find that file because it is not in full path format.
how to import photoshop images to flash without the image looking pixelated or blurry? When the flash movie is exported as a swf and embedded to html, the images look blurry and pixelated and not sharp like they are in photoshop. It is not the size because I resized the images in flash before i imported the images into flash. The flash document size is 72 dpi would this be the problem?
ive built it based off of an example we made in class last year that i had lying around..
as you can see here everything works fine.
The only problem is I want to add some roll over effects to the thumbnail but im not sure how to go about this as they are all dynamically added to the stage..
The way I tried was adding an event listener to each thumb via the function that adds the thumbs to the stage (see the "createThumbs()" function below). The event listener works fine and calls to the function i assigned to it ("thumbRoll") but im not sure what to put in this function to effect the thumb that is moused over as im unable to access "btn_thumb" from "thumbRoll".
ps. sorry if the code is a bit messy, bit of an experiment for me to get everything working..
gallery.as
ActionScript Code: package{ //imports go here import flash.display.*;
I have Flex application(not AIR) thats load image and perform some effects, application works well in flash builder and in the debug folder. But when I am trying to copy *.swf to another local folder, appears problems with image loading.
UPDATE You don't understand me, i am trying to load image from desktop using FileReference class, image shows successfully, but origBitmap after saveAsBitmap() method is null
public function loadImage():void { fileRef.addEventListener(Event.SELECT, onFileSelected); [code].....
Just actionscript? [URL] i use tweener to animate blocks of text created dynamically but like that, on Browse effect database, take a look on Scatterbounce. just so cool! just actionscript???
[URL] The above wasn't really the answer that I was looking for. I'm looking for an online image editor which I can embed into my pages, so users can edit images and submit them. I'm fine with it being Flash or Canvas/JS, no Silverlight or Java . Should have these features, or close to: File upload for image or remote url fetch Layer-based like Photoshop Magic Wand/Pen/Pencil/Brush/etc Text editing Cropping tool
i cant import the image without losing a huge amount of quality. a friend made this image using Illustrator, and i am trying to incorporate it into a Flash banner.i have numerous images already being used in my Flash movie banner, and all of them have been very easily imported, resized, and animated. here is the image im attempting to use.the Flash banner is am working with can be found at the top of the page at this address.URL.. ive tried to import it to my movie as a GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, after using Fireworks to successfully edit the image without losing any quality. but as soon as i C&P it or import it directly to the Flash stage or library, the quality goes right out the window.
What format should I make images into, for an App for iPad? (Each image will be a full page of a children's picture book. I'll create a Flash CS4 movie of the book and then convert the movie to an App for iPad.)
I am working on an as3 slideshow class and I came across a blog post that gave me the idea to use better transitions than the sliding out and fading I originally intended to use. [URL]The source for that class is available and it is a good starting point but I wanted to check and see if anyone know of similar projects that had more effects. Right now I just have the random explode effect from the above link and before I start working on effects I wanted to see what was out there.
-click on the image and see how the images are broken into long rectangles that then builds itself up to form the complete image.how is this done?where can i find the script if it is at all?
Well I'm creating a small image gallery of thumbnails and am looking for interesting effects when the big pic loads. I'm sick of just fading in images with the alpha setting and need some inspiration. I've done a google search but it revealed nothing of any use.
Do you know of any tutorials for this or fla downloads?
I load image to control than I applie some effects, and when I save image it's saving without effects. What should i do?
Here is the code:
private var byteArr2:ByteArray; private var fileRef:FileReference = new FileReference(); public function process():void
[Code].....
UPDATE Appears new problem as I am using var data:BitmapData = new BitmapData(currImg.width, currImg.width); saved image is small(size like image control) but I need to save image with original size. With var data:BitmapData = Bitmap(currImg.content).bitmapData; it worked
Does anyone know a way to crop a SWF like you would crop an image in Photoshop? I'm building a Flash Banners application in my Flash portfolio website and I'm loading a SWF using addChild via a URL loader object. There is no way to mask the outsides of the SWF because addChild puts the SWF at the front of the display list so the masks would just show up anyway and the masks will just be huge white sheets that will look dreadful. I need to LITERALLY crop the SWF down to 550 X 325 pixels.
Is there a way to make Flash work with masks in the same way as in Photoshop? In Flash, for a mask layer to work, it needs to be in shades of transparency. In Photoshop, you can use a fully opaque mask layer, and the mask is applied by using the different shades of black and white.
I wanna import like a logo and a few other images which I want to have a transparent background. I understand save it as a png and click interlaced. But when I import it into the flash as a png the quality of my image is seriously reduced. How to import transparent images into flash as say jpg quality.
I am running Window 7 64 bit with 6 gb of RAM, two E5520 Xeons, two 10k raptors, one 320gb HD, and a ATI FirePro V5700. Brand New machine and a Fresh install of windows.
Everytime Photoshop CS4 is open it will cause Flash Cs4 to Crash. I can work in Flash without any issues until Photoshop is opened. Flash will usually crash in under 5 min with Photoshop open. I have tested this over and over and it is Photoshop causing Flash to crash. Does not matter whether I am running the 32 or 64 bit version of Photoshop. I am starting to believe it is a memory issue but I am not sure or how to fix if it is.I have tested the memory and it passed all tests. This is really killing my production time.
Well I have been having a major problem for the past four days. I imported 1 photoshop file into flash, everything was okay. I tried to import the others and an error message appeared stating that flash has crashed and has to close unexpectedly. I've re-installed flash and it does the same thing- so I know that isn't the issue. I have used other computers and it is still the same. I have been racking my brain everyday trying to figure it out. I checked the file sizes and they aren't that big and I compared them to other photoshop files I've imported and they are roughly the same size.
Also other photoshop files import, but the ones I actually want to use do not work at all. There is no way I'm re-designing 10 photoshop files!!
By the way when I saved some of the PSD files there was no extensions on the files, so I had to add them afterwards.
