I just put together a banner image in photoshop that I would like to import into Flash and put a small navigation menu at the bottom but whenever I use the import to stage feature I am getting a large amount of discoloration in the image. I've tried saving it as a .tif and .png but both came out looking poor. Attached is an image to show what I mean.

I wanna import like a logo and a few other images which I want to have a transparent background. I understand save it as a png and click interlaced. But when I import it into the flash as a png the quality of my image is seriously reduced. How to import transparent images into flash as say jpg quality.
View 1 RepliesWell I have been having a major problem for the past four days. I imported 1 photoshop file into flash, everything was okay. I tried to import the others and an error message appeared stating that flash has crashed and has to close unexpectedly. I've re-installed flash and it does the same thing- so I know that isn't the issue. I have used other computers and it is still the same. I have been racking my brain everyday trying to figure it out. I checked the file sizes and they aren't that big and I compared them to other photoshop files I've imported and they are roughly the same size.
Also other photoshop files import, but the ones I actually want to use do not work at all. There is no way I'm re-designing 10 photoshop files!!
By the way when I saved some of the PSD files there was no extensions on the files, so I had to add them afterwards.
It looks perfect when the stage is set to 100%. But when I shrink the stage (even in the SWF), the quality of the image becomes choppy and the edges of objects become pixelated. Same thing with enlarging it. The publish setting JPG quality is set to 100%. How do I fix this? It's mostly the quality of shrinking it that I'm worried about; this image/flash will go on a webpage & I plan to have it automatically adjust its size based on the browser's size.I'm using Flash CS5 with Actionscript 3.0.
View 3 RepliesI have a layer in photoshop that is shaped like an triangle, and I want to make it so that in flash when I hover over it, it changes to an 'active' version that is brighter, however whenever I try to import the layer (I've tried saving it as .bmp, .png etc) I can get it to import without the background, but the imported file is still a square (the image size). Essentially I need just the exactly outline of the layer, which is a shape, versus the entire size of the image!
View 1 RepliesI have about 5 layer groups in Photoshop and in each of the groups/folders there are some layers with some text and other layers with isolated images and also layers with some layer styles. When I import this file into Flash I need each of the layer groups to be imported as a flattened bitmap image. I don't want any of the text to be editable or to have any of the layer styles intact. So if there are 5 layer groups in Photoshop, I just need five bitmap images in flash. I've tried doing this but it still imports the layers separately. I know I can flatten the groups in Photoshop but I want to keep this file editable.

The issue I am facing is while exporting from photoshop (optimized for web and devices) as png-24 , most of the images lose their quality inside flash. I have tried to make the publish settings for image quality 100. On lossless compression of the images, the image gets blurry. how to import photoshop images to flash without the image looking pixelated or blurry?When the flash movie is exported as a swf and embedded to html, the images look blurry and pixelated and not sharp like they are in photoshop.It is not the size because I resized the images in flash before i imported the images into flash. The flash document size is 72 dpi would this be the problem?

View 2 RepliesI have a Flash CS4 Professional version installed in my machine. Here is my problem.
1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?
Is it better to optimize an image before importing it into Flash, or letting Flash optimize it during the export?

I am importing into Flash CS4 this image and want to use it with a Flash component however the image quality is really bad in Flash and I cant figure out why. I have increased the image to 300dpi in Fireworks to see if that helps and it doesn't.

View 4 RepliesI am creating simple drawings in Power Point and them saving them as png or jpg files. I then bring the drawing into Flash using import to stage. The imported drawings lose some quality (e.g. straight lines appear jagged). Any way to maintain image quality when importing images into Flash.
View 5 RepliesI imported and .png (bitmap) and converted it to symbol however when I place it on stage and look at it the corners (marker with red, edit: basically all the corners are somewhat incorrect) appear somewhat ugly, however when I zoom in to 200% I see that everything is correct. I'm also sure that when importing the .png image the pixels were correct. Why is it so and how to fix it?

I'm building a Flash Banners application in my Flash portfolio website and I'm loading a SWF using addChild via a URL loader object. There is no way to mask the outsides of the SWF because addChild puts the SWF at the front of the display list so the masks would just show up anyway and the masks will just be huge white sheets that will look dreadful. I need to LITERALLY crop the SWF down to 550 X 325 pixels.

View 2 RepliesI am running Window 7 64 bit with 6 gb of RAM, two E5520 Xeons, two 10k raptors, one 320gb HD, and a ATI FirePro V5700. Brand New machine and a Fresh install of windows.
Everytime Photoshop CS4 is open it will cause Flash Cs4 to Crash. I can work in Flash without any issues until Photoshop is opened. Flash will usually crash in under 5 min with Photoshop open. I have tested this over and over and it is Photoshop causing Flash to crash. Does not matter whether I am running the 32 or 64 bit version of Photoshop. I am starting to believe it is a memory issue but I am not sure or how to fix if it is.I have tested the memory and it passed all tests. This is really killing my production time.
