View 7 RepliesWe have a custom application that is running on FMS. Server is dedicated just for fms, there is only one application running on the server, with more instances, average traffic is 3-15 simultaneous users.The problem is,server suddenly stops accepting connections (after 1-3 days from restart), from this point it is impossible to connect to any instance, and fms server must be restarted.When the server crashes, the admin console can see all open instances, can close instances, can restart fms. There is nothing logged, that would explain this sudden failure.Second problem is, cores are connected and disconnected too often, causing client to reconnect (takes 2-5 seconds).
Hardware: 4 x quadcore Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E7440 @ 2.40GHz, 32 GB ram
OS: CentOS release 5.3 (Final), kernel: 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5
cpu and mem usage: 1-5% max[code]...........
Our flash media server stops taking connection sometime. Any one have any idea about sophos antivirus?
View 8 RepliesI have a flv file that is being played and then after its finished another file with the same name has been recorded the problem is that when the new file is played if the browser window hasn't been closed then the old file gets played......How do I stop the browser from cacheing .flv??

I do not have the original video that the flv was created with... otherwise this would be a no brainer. I want to keep the video up but take away the sound
I'm currently working as part of team of developers and we've run into an issue with our FMS project.In our site the user is able to record video of themselves which is turned into flvs and stored by the FMS. These videos are played back at a later time. The site works fine but intermittently stops recording new videos or streaming previously recorded videos.The only solution at this point is to restart the server. The server logs show that the onDisconnect event handler is running when users terminate their sessions and we can see that the number of active connections does not appear to be exceeding the limit on the server. There are no runtime errors to indicate that anything has gone wrong.From looking at output from the app it just seems like the publish and unpublish event handlers stop running but nothing actually breaks.The user doesn't realize anything is wrong until they try to watch their videos only to get a blank screen.
We're wondering if perhaps it is a garbage collection issue? Either the garbage collector in the FMS is running and taking a really long time to reload the app or perhaps it isn't running at all and somewhere some memory is overloading.
I have a fms 3.5 server that stalls when playing content regularly. After restarting through the admin console streams play again.

I want to let the live stream stopping status after be load completed.but after I set the autoPlay=false, the fms live stream is not stopping status after be load completed.
However I try the fms vod stream as the autoPlay=false ,is can stop .
what's different the live stream and vod stream. why the vod stream can stop but live stram can't stop?
I own a site like ustream/justin where users can register and broadcast their channels using FMLE. Sometime I need to ban broadcasters after I receives any complaint against any channel. I do them on website, there is no issue in that. But how to do that on server side at FMIS. I need to do it bcause the stream users are already watching the channel page before it got banned, they still can watch it till they do the refresh. So I need something that can stop the Live Stream of that particular channel on FMS server too. How can I supply stream names to main.asc that should be banned or not to allow publishing without restarting server each time.
View 1 RepliesOn the DateChooser component, it shows the days for only the current month... but i'd like to show some of the previous month's days and some of the next month's days.Is there a property to set on the DateChooser component to show 42 days. I mean, to show some of the previous month's days + the current month's days + some of the next month's days. I'm not sure what this is called...If you look at a typical month calendar, for example for June 2011 it shows:

Is there a property that I've overlooked which shows some of the days from the prev. month and next month in the current month view? Or would I need to extend the DateChooser component and override a method?
I have a FMS application that contains a chat room. I'm finding that my on disconnect method is firing randomly when I still haven't disconnected. I've gathered from various other forums that this is a pretty common issue.
View 2 RepliesI'm streaming mp3 on flash media server 3.5 on linux version, and very often come accross with that problem, when the buffer.length become 0 on client side, the streaming will stop with NetStream.Play.Stop event, and will not be continued. I think this case it should wait always till the data arrives and never should stopping. Some more info : I tested on applications/live folder, and the mp3 files are created dynamically during the playing, and the creation speed is almost the same like the playing speed, so those are not fix files.

But after 10 to 15 minutes (telecast) video get stuck and connection get lost.But i don't
have this problem when i use rtmp protocol with port 1935.
As part of my authorization plugin I have a content URL tokenization system. When user requests some content to play, it sends a tokenized name. e.g. 06e3b733c1140573f105a83462471df8. Then it transforms through a request into 3rd system to a full path of the requested content. To handle this I ought to catch E_FILENAME_TRANFORM and change a content path there. It is odd that is impossible to do it during E_PLAY event.
Everything is fine while the content transformation is successful and I authorize E_FILENAME_TRANSFORM event. But when the transformation failed and I blocked E_FILENAME_TRANSFORM and even close!!! the connection with a user, I still get a few E_FILENAME_TRANSFORM events after the blocked first!
I understand the nature of those events, but I would like to find a way to prevent the generation. Simple solutions like 'just ignore it' or 'remeber somewhere that it was already handled and blocked' do not work in my case. The whole system is complex, have a async pool of threads to handle requests into 3rd systems and completely stateless!
When I unload an application say live for example. And a user loads fmle and goes to load the liveapplication it starts it automatically. How can I prevent this. If I understand this correctly, if I terminate, I lose all my setup instructions and would have to pay the $5 one-time fee once I restart. Is this correct?How can I setup my instance so I can stop it? I've looked at the support page and it says that I need to have my instance backed up with EBS rather than S3. View 14 RepliesIn my system I have installed Flash Media Streaming Server and as you know Streaming Server doesn't abilty to authenticatte the user which connects with FMLE or another application to publish (or am I wrong, I hope I am wronggg ). Because of this reason my system is abused time to time for unlegal content . In my system we don't use live streaming ability for live events regulary. Sometimes we use live ability max 4 times in a month. And I want to learn that is there a way to stop or disable and open the live streaming mechanism whenever I want?

View 4 RepliesI have some .mov files want to stream to Flash media server by ffmpeg. i have already tried to stream a single .mov by FFMPEG command in terminal and it works, the FMS can display the thing i streaming in live.Now i want to stream multiple files as one source, i tried to use above command one by one, but it seems Flash media server stop the streaming when file1 is finished, then start the stream with file2.It makes the stream player stopped when file1 is finish, and i have to refresh the web page in order to continue on file2.i am calling the FFMPEG command by a C program in linux, i wonder is there any method that i can prevent the FMS stopped when i switch the file source in FFMPEG? or is that possible to let FFMPEG constantly deliver the stream by multiple files source without stopped when a file finish
View 2 RepliesHI installed flash media server 3.0.4 on a Windows 2003 server.I am using the default LIVE application and broadcasting to it using FME version 3.0 Inside FME I choose MP3 as the audio codec, stereo and 128kbps When I watch the stream everything works fine but after a minute (sometimes 2 minutes) the sound disappears and I can only see the video run.If I refresh the page that contains the SWF that plays the stream then the sound works again but then again after a minute the sound stops and only the video continues to play. It is important to say that this only happens when I play a live stream from a server that is located outside of my local LAN. If I play a stream from my development FMS server in my local LAN this problem doesn't happen using the same SWF and same settings in FME.Moreover, if I use the nellymoser audio codec then everything works fine and this problem doesn't happen also. The thing is that I want to broadcast a live event and it is very important that the audio sounds good (stereo and 192kbps) and if I use the nellymoser codec the results aren't that good.

View 2 RepliesI am experiencing an issue with playback on RTMPE streams. after investigation it seems that the FMS server is firing the NetStream.Play.Complete message at random points, indicating that a stream has ended. This is happening and random points during the stream, not even close to the end.[code]As you can see roughly 17mins into playback...although the stream is 1 hour 24mins long.I have tested this numerous times, and each time it is at a different point in the stream.Intermittently the NetStream.Play.InsufficientBW warning is being fired prior to NetStream.Play.Stop.I am using a player built on OSMF 1.5

View 6 RepliesI'm running FMS 4 Dev on my win XP SP3 machine, also running flash cs5 professional on same machine. I get the server admin screen to come up and it says it's running. I'm using a tut book on FMS and trying to run the first script in the book. It's long but I'll add the script at the bottom so you can see what i'm doing. In the server app folder I placed another folder called vid2 with nothing in it just like the book told me to do. I wrote the script line for line out of the book. When I test my movie it lays out my video window and buttons. It diplays my ugly mug on the screen. when I press the record button it does nothing. when i press the stop button the output window shows me an error of "#1009 can't access properties or methods of a null object". I assume that this is telling me I do not have a net connection.
when I types in the example it had an IP address in the code.How do I know the correct IP addy to my dev server? If I'm doing development and testing on the same machine do I even need to know this? 2) How will what I'm doing now differ from leasing space from an FMS provider?

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working.I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3.My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it.I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc.The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors.Here's what I've tried so far:
Playback of a local FLV file works fine.In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RTMP.Any attempt to access FLV files on my Media Server, which has worked fine in the past, basically cause the FLVPlayback object to sit and hang in "buffering" mode and never progresses beyond this point.The netConnection object in this case is null.Here's my code:[code]........
Again the purpose of this is to troubleshoot the video streaming from the Flash Media Server, and it seems like there is no netconnection to the server being created.Does this mean that the server is not working, or is there a problem with the way I'm trying to access the content on the server?This was all working fine before, and I have set up the server-side application .ASC files and such to allow things to work fine on the server end.
