Media Server :: Find Load Simulator Tool?
May 20, 2009Where can I find the Load Simulator tool?
View 3 RepliesWhere can I find the Load Simulator tool?
View 3 RepliesI was wondering if anyone knows if there is a loading testing tool for interactive apps like a chat app. The reason I asked is because the company I worked experienced some issues where cores where crashing and we are trying to determined if the issue is load.
View 1 Replieswhere I can download the "Load Testing Tool" which is mentioned in the below page?
Adobe Flash Media Server ToolsUse these tools to assist you in managing your server: FMSCheck, FLVCheck, Load Testing Tool, F4V Post Processor Tool, Sample Video player with Dynamic Streaming support, and the Administration Console.

The "Load Testing Tool" didn't show on "Adobe Flash Media Server productivity tools and sample downloads" page. [URL]
I must rejected all users outside Denmark from our live streaming (c-ip) and this is done in an access plug-insBut now I need to open up one of the streams, but I can't get the streaming name in the access-plug-ins only in the Auth-plug-ins.I cant use x-page-url or s-uri I need pStreamName. in access-plug-in like thissetStringField(m_pAev, IFmsAuthEvent::F_STREAM_NAME, pStreamName);but I cant get it inside the access-plug-in

View 3 RepliesI have tried countless times in finding out from Adobe what would be the best solution to use the already 100s of videos encoded to H.264 in the mp4 container. Unfortunately, salesmen never know the answer yet keep asking me to buy. What benefits, if any is there to encoding to F4V over MP4 other than the ability to inject metadata without having to use a sidecar xmp file like you would if using MP4? The only downside I see with going F4V is that files will not be playable on set tops, gaming consoles, and also iPods.
Does FMS protect files already encoded to MP4 and if not, is there a tool to rewrap the MP4 into a F4V? My overall goal is to be able to put all metadata needed into the file and use actionscript 3 to populate the information on a web page and in the future an AIR app. I would love to pull the trigger and buy FMS but it just seems like the salesmen are reading from a brochure and never once address my questions let alone find me answers.
We purchased FMIS and we are encoding large 15+ hour MP4 recordings using flash media encoder. When opening these large files for playback, which have not been opened recently the player displays the loading indicator for up to 4 minutes! Once it has apparently been cached on the server it opens immediately from any browser even after clearing local browser cache. So a few questions for the experts
1. Why is it taking so long to load the file. Is it because the MP4 metadata is in the wrong format and the file is so huge? I read somewhere that Media Encoder records with incorrect MP4 metadata is that still the case?
2. Once its cached on the server, exactly how much of it is cached. Some of these files are larger than 500mb.
3. What fms settings do you suggest I change. FMIS is running on windows server R2 64 bit, but FMIS itself is 32 bit. We have not upgraded to the 64 bit version. We have 8GB of ram. Is it OK to set FMS cache to 3GB. And would that only have enough room for 3-4 large files, because we have hundreds of them.
I have created one video conference in flash cs4 using FMS.I have facing one problem. Some people do not have web cam.i need to identify that person.I have one idea who are all not streaming their video in fms .that person do not have web cam or some problem in their webcam So i need to find stream is available or not in fms for that person It is possible to find stream available or not?
View 2 RepliesWe have installed FMS and have used it for a live streaming video event. The event lasted an hour and FMS worked great. How can I get statistics on that live stream? I'd like to know how many people saw the video, and how many people were watching at one time.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to find Adobes detailed hardware requirements for Flash Media Server 3.5 - The base one on site is too vague i.e. what is the storage requirements i.e. Raided harddrives - how many? Do we need something more robust i.e.SAN Want to support 500 concurrent streams @ 700kb.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to find in the documentation why Apache is required for the feature set that FMIS 4.5 provides. Is it that there are modules/scripts/other built in to that Apache build that make the features work or is it that Apache is simply pre-configured to work and provide these services?
If it's merely a configuration issue, is there an outline somewhere of the set up so I can mirror the setup with iis?

the player "FlashMediaPlayback" is loaded from remote ftp adobe server.
How can I load the player from my local machine?
Medium-load chat server using Shared Objects segfaults every few hours. Runtime size has been increased to 30MB (this saves it from crashing every 10 minutes). I have the core dump but don't understand what it means.
View 9 RepliesRandomly on Sunday night the FMS Admin Console which you can access via [URL] stopped working, as in it would not load. It times out and Firefox says 'Server Not Found' It was working fine on Sunday morning and has been doing for a year now, I rebooted the server and that did nothing. I have no idea why it will not load as the server runs fine and I can still stream and everything.
View 20 Replieshow can I find on fms server that client disconnected if if client disconnected due to power cut off. I client manually close the application then onDisconnect on server is called but if due to power cut off it does not called.

View 3 RepliesI'm developing a coloring website for kids, so I need some AS3 Coloring tool, or a class that helps in this.I could do one by myself but I have no idea how a tool like that works. One way would be to have shapes behind the black lines, but this way I think would be much harder.
What I need is a tool, where I can use any png 32 bits files. This tool: [URL]is almost what I need, expect the fact that the files with the drawing must be swf format.
I have to load a .swf file in all connected clients by pushing a button from another client

View 1 RepliesWe have a pool of FMS 3.5 servers behind a haproxy load balancer. They are working fine with RTMP and download with HTTP through FMS proxy. We need now to have RTMPT working for some clients behind a strict firewall.
1) We started configuring the haproxy load balancer to work in HTTP (level 7) mode and we changed the FMS Adaptor.xml configuration file on all servers with the tag below:

G'day chaps, me and my mates have purchased a copy of Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise edition for use on our web project. Since we will be transmitting to large amounts of users through this exceptional piece of software, we will be needing to run more than one server at once. Before going ahead and doing anything against the policies we have decided to post here on the support forums and inquire about being able to run multiple copies of Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise edition with one Serial KEY ( 10 x GigE dedicated servers ). If this is not possible, how can me and my chappies load balance all the traffic through one Flash Media Server 4 Enterprise edition.
View 3 RepliesWe're trying to implement a load-balancing mechanism between FMS hosts in a virtual "farm". The mechanism we're using is to have the FMSs periodically send "load" data (along with a timestamp) to an application server. That server will then use that load information and timestamp to detect when an FMS server has gone down and to make stream assignments to FMSs. Right now, I've implemented this code via a setInterval() in live/main.asc.
I've added a "return false" to Application.onAppStop() to (according to the docs, I haven't tested this yet) keep the server from shutting down an idle instance. How do I get the interval running before the first request hits the application (and forces the load of the application)? I've tried putting the setInterval in onAppStart() and as a global. In both cases, it only gets executed after application is loaded. Any way to force an application to load (via a config file parameter or local command-line)?
I have a load balancing problem for example I have two FMS servers I want to make aconnection between them if the first server overload the second can handle the request
View 1 RepliesCan Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 run on AMD Athlon Dual Sock Quad Core?I just requested a Dell server to be added to our farm to run as a Media Server and to my surprise, while reading the requirements for FMS it states the following: 3.2GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 processor (dual Intel Xeon® or faster recommended)
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to troubleshoot a Flash Media Server working with a little video playback application I wrote a few years ago that has suddenly stopped working.I'm using CS3/Actionscript 3.My app uses the FLVPlayback Component, and was working well last time I checked. I recevied a report that the videos stopped working, and have been looking into it.I figured I'd add a bunch of event listeners to the FLVPlayback's ncMgr.netConnection so I could get debug info on things like io errors, net status, etc.The problem I'm running into is that the netConnection is null when I set it to anything on my Flash Media Server, and adding any event listeners to this netConnection throws errors. Here's what I've tried so far:
Playback of a local FLV file works fine.In the FLVPlayback documentation, I found an example and stole the URL of the stream they were using in the example, and that works fine, although it is an HTTP protocol stream rather than RTMP.Any attempt to access FLV files on my Media Server, which has worked fine in the past, basically cause the FLVPlayback object to sit and hang in "buffering" mode and never progresses beyond this point. The netConnection object in this case is null. Here's my code:[code]........
Again the purpose of this is to troubleshoot the video streaming from the Flash Media Server, and it seems like there is no netconnection to the server being created.Does this mean that the server is not working, or is there a problem with the way I'm trying to access the content on the server? This was all working fine before, and I have set up the server-side application .ASC files and such to allow things to work fine on the server end.
How can we automatically configure edge from the admin console of flash media interactive server?
View 1 RepliesI would like to know the number of connection allowed in the free developer ediiton of Flash Media Server.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
I run a FMS 3.5 Server and I want to add additional FMS Servers and load balance the traffic. The plan is to use a script for the developer version of FMS that forwards two incoming FME streams to the different servers, so each FMS Server has all streams. Is there a script for this? In addition there is a need for a script that somehow redirects the users to the server with the lowest users/bandwidth in use.
