I installed FME 3.0 + FMS 3.5, and can get live stream on clients.
Now I want to record the live streaming from FME on FMS, I changed the fms.ini:
LIVE_DIR = d:Program FilesAdobeFlash Media Server 3.5webrootlive_recorded
but the streaming didn't be recorded in this folder.
I read a blog article http:(url......)talking about switching between different bit rate video streams of the same video content on fly.But I can not find such ability in RTMP's specification.I am wondering if such function has to be implemented by users with ActionScript?
View 1 RepliesI have installed flash media server, flash cs5, media live encoder to be able to view my webcam feed via my website. Now in addition to these, i started streaming to localhost, and installed a dns updater which updates a name server according to my current ip. Then i wrote this dns address in the feed's source from flash 5 as rtmp://thednsname.somedns.net/live/livestream
so far so good, i also forwarded the ports 1935 incoming and outgoing from modem to my computer as well (because 1935 is said to be the default port number for media server). firewall -> closed (just in case); and my internet provider doesn't block ports...started the media server (with admin privilage in 7), started the live encoder, connect to localhost, start live feed.
NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound : Adobe Flash tried to play a live or recorded stream that does not exist. Source can't be found.
I would like to build a video conferencing app that supports H.264. Is there a way to use Flash to do that? I understand that Flash natively supports the Sorensen Spark video codec and that you need to use Flash Live Encoder 3 for H.264 encoding. I can't seem to find any documentation that shows me how to use FLE3 with ActionScript.

The application connects to the server fine but for some reason the camera is not sending anything to the Media Server. View 1 RepliesWe purchased the Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 a few days ago and everything is running smoothly.We have a website where users can stream live and other users can see the live stream can sign in and broadcast in live. Other users can see the live stream. This is already working. However we would like to use the Dynamic Streaming's capability. We have users who have low-band and have other ones who have broadband Internet connection. We already know how to determine the users' speed and offer them the best suitable stream.But! The problem is that how we are supposed to make 3 different versions from one live stream? Yes, I know that we can use the Live Encoder to do the job but the thing is that we don't want our users to install anything on their computer.
Is there a way to do some server-side AS to produce three different quality version from one live stream? Or is it possible to integrate the Live Encoder in the background to do this?If not, then I suppose the only way we can solve this problem if our users stream 2 different versions at the same time, a low-band and a broadband. However I'm not sure that this would work and also it would require some amount of bandwidth from the streaming users' side. So I would like to avoid this solution.Is there a way to do this encoding procedure in the background? With recorded videos it's not a big deal, we can use ffmpeg but we are just stuck with this live stream encoding.
I would like to know if there is a solution available that allows me to plug 2 HDV cameras into a laptop and live switch between the 2 cameras while uploading the live stream via adobe flash media live encoder to the adobe streaming server? the scenario is I want to offer live streaming of corporate seminars that I normally shoot with 2 cameras.

View 13 RepliesI'm running Flash Media Streaming Server and have only been serving VOD up until now. I had my network administrator open up port 1935 to the outside world during the setup process and now I can't remember if that was actually required for streaming VOD to clients. Most documentation I've read says that this port should be open, but I seem to recall reading something at one point that suggested it wasn't necessary.
I've just started messing around with publishing live streams using Flash Media Live Encoder to the Flash Media Streaming Server. I have that working without issue but was surprised to find that no authentication is required before a client running the live encoder can publish a stream to the Flash Media Streaming Server. An authentication module is available however it only works with Flash Media Interactive Server and Flash Media Development Server.
If I leave port 1935 open to the outside world, there would be nothing to stop anybody anywhere from streaming video via my server. Anyone else running a default install of Flash Media Streaming Server and with port 1935 open to the outside should see that this is true of their setup as well. I'm wondering if I can safely close port 1935 without limiting the functionality of the server or if there's some way I can require authentication prior to publishing a live stream even though I'm not on the four-and-a-half-times-more-expensive edition of the product.
I am working on streaming programs through "Adobe flash Media Live encoder" in my website.The steps that i done for streaming is
* Installed Adobe flash media live encoder
* In the FMS URL entered as " rtmp://myserver ip/live "
* In stream given as "livestream"
* when i click connect the follwing error is displaying " Invalid primary FMSURL "

I have a web page for test purpose with the video src tags to: URL... and in the server I have a livestream.m3u8 pointing to the same URL..., Now the Encoder have the AAC plugin and all the presets like it shut but when I go to see it in my IPad 2 this is how it looks.

I'm using a FLME 3.2 to capture the video from my digital camera, which works fine, and I can connect to the server with no worries as well. But I have issues streaming the content in the Sample Video Player that comes with the server.

The situation is: I have an external digital camera, and i need to capture its contents and display it in a player/window. This will all be on a local machine. I don't need to record anything, or stream it to other machines..... I just need the player to be able to display what ever the camera is displaying. Kind of like the Live Encoder (input and output views). With that I could hopefuly embed the player into other applications.

I have installed the Authentication Add-In on a FMS 3.5.5 Development version, running Windows 2008 Server.I can easily get to the users.exe command prompt and add users with no problem.BUT, when I open the Flash Media Live Encoder and go to enter a username/password when connecting to the server, I keep getting "User Not Found".I've went back several times using users.exe and tested for my user credentials and it always states that the user is there.

Is this only available in CS5 as far as Flash Professional goes? What about Flex? Which version of Flex is required to access the smart seek API? Or am I misunderstanding this, and the Smart Seek API is server side only AS?

I see that the new Flash Media Servers were released. Looking over the information on the product pages, Flash Media Enterprise Server 4 is the only available product that supports RTMFP connections?
We currently have Flash Media Server 3.5 and our product utilizes RTMP connections, but I've been working with your Stratus Server and RTMFP and have found that the new protocol better fits our needs. However, the price for Flash Media Enterprise Server 4 is beyond our budget. Is there any possibility that RTMFP support are/will be available in the lower levels of Flash Media Server?
