View 2 RepliesI am using FMS3 and Flash CS3 (actionscript2) in a Flash based whiteboard application. Multiple users can join this whiteboard. I want to save chat text and drawing in same sequence as live time. I am using persistant remote shared object to save these data. But when i try to replay these data its not showing in same squence as live . I am generating unique slot for chat and drawing but still same error occuring.
View 8 RepliesI am currently looking into the NetGroup class and AIR. Basically, is it possible to establish a direct link between two users without the need of a server? Lets say both of them have this AIR application or better yet its just a swf hosted on some private server of mine. Could two people use this application and simply send and receive files between each other? Eliminating the need for uploading sites like rapidshare?

View 1 RepliesI made a server connection with AC3 and C, I need the client(AC3) to be able to send a 3 byte message to the server (C) and have the server return a resopnse. So far everything works except for the fact that the feedback isn't fast enough becuase AC3 just tests for data once and moves on instead of waiting like in C. I'm using a binary socket at the moment but I was wondering if there was any way to wait for new data before moving on
View 2 RepliesI'm using FMS 3.5 to record streams to the server as flv files, and would like the ability to directly download those generated flv files. Assuming these files are sitting in my applications/recorder/streams/_definst_ directory, how can I open up this directory to allow direct download via a url? Something like http://<ip ddress>/applications/recorder/streams/myfile.flv. I'm guessing this is just something that I need to put into one of the configuration files, but I'm having a bit of trouble figuring this one out.
View 3 RepliesAs titled, what is the way to record video/audio files using Flash Meida Server through rmtp, and allow users to access the recorded files through http?What I am trying to do, is to record a user's microphone's input and save it to the server.fterwards, I would like other users to be able to access the recorded files and mainuplating the audio data, by computeSpectrum(), to do some visualization of the audio. As I know computeSpectrum() cannot work on streaming files, so I think I need to access the recorded files using http instead of rmtp. Is that true?

Is it just because I'm on a terribly slow network? are there some firewall settings on the network that need to be opened for rtmp streaming?
I want to write a code in Flash to detect whether user's microphone is connected to system or not. My application records from users microphone, now while recording is accidentally or intentionally user's microphone gets unplugged from system then I want to show a message to user. Is this possible to do in flash. I have tried many thing but didn't succeeded. Few thing what I tried are mic.getMicrophone method, this method only returns the sound card of the system, but didn't tell you anything about microphone is connected or not.

I have 3 seperate .swf on a single html page which are all communicating with FMS on separate connections. Do you think there will be any stability issues? or connection issues. All the .swf use the same main.asc. There are no apparant problems so far just need an expert opnion.....a side note is I've also noticed an error in the error logs that says its detected a backwards time stamp when recodring. Whats that all about? The application seems fine. Using FMS 3.0

Is it possible for a client to publish something other than a stream from a connected camera, for example, the contents of my swf stage? Is it possible to draw something like a text overlay onto a published stream?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
I'd like to hear some opinions about using NetGroups VS. using direct p2p connections between everybody, considering there would either be 2,3 or 4 people max in the group.

If the answer is "yes",Whether i should make a check function that make these client back to "RTMP"?

I'm usig Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.0.1, it works fine, no major problems, when the internet between Media Encoder and Server stops, some times the stream doesn't start automatically.I have a problem with users(viewers) trying to connect to server. The server is connected to fiber optic internet at 100mbps and the stream is made in 500kbps with media encoder 2.5.
When are 40-50 simultaneous viewers works fine, but when enter more viewers, for example, 200 simultaneous, nobody cam receive the stream good, it works frame by frame or flash player display "buffering", work 3 seconds and buffer 5 sec,and so on.HOW I CAN RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM?it is possible to connect milions of users simultaneous, how can i do that.I need more servers to connect each to each other? Could you send me a diagram how to do that?I need to increase the ram memory from server?( i have P4 dual core 3.0 Ghz, 6 Gb ram 800Mhz).

If I have a Quad-core server and 8 RAM, how many users can it handle while streaming a 48-128Kbps audio-only stream of Mp3 or AAC? I guess there are some users here that are handling similiar cases, and maybe employees with estimates

How can I prevent that and only allow authorized users by my to connect to FMS and prevent all other from using it ?

I need to protect my FMS, so that only me (my Username, or IP if its not possible) can start a live stream. I have been reading the pdf on plugin for developers, and i read that the authorization plugin can do this, but it is C++ and i dont know nothing about that, i can understand a little bit, but i do not know how to make the dll i want. Is there another way to do this, the server requests a user and password when i want to stream.
View 10 Repliesi have made a chat app and i want to let the user add another users that he can find by searching the database of users to his own list, and grouping them ,,, this is can be done but ,,, now in my app when the user connect to the lobby he get all the online connected users in his list i mean when connecting to the online user list sharedobject the user list contains all the connected clients to the lobby and if the number of the connected users is by hundreds or thousands i think
if i create a loop for updating the own user users list statues it would not be good idea,,,

Uses can log into my site and record camera videos to FMS, and now I want to present videos that belongs to a specific user in a classfied way,that is: videos those are being recordedvideos those have already been recorded, how to do this with FMS? I'm thinking of doing this by storing such information into the database with server side as,using onConnect and onDisconnect,but that's not the most stable way IMO, I don't know whether FMS has a native support for this kind of job...
View 11 RepliesI'm building a chat app and there are between 100 and 900 users inside. I'm checking if a user is connected to the FMS by pinging it and if the stats['ping_rtt'] is higher that 3 secs i disconnect the user. The problem is that some user are connected but have very high ping like 30 secs or even higher.Does anyone have an idea what can be the reason for the high ping?

We will send a stream of quality 800kbps
I installed said program but whenever I add users, it says they were added successfully and exist in CMD.However when I check the users.dat file it is empty. When I try Live Encoder it says the user does not exist.

Is that other settings to config to restrict the number of simultaneous users?
