I have a work station with Osprey 230, I need to stream the same stream on two diffrent URL via 2 network cards. Is that possible ? Which software you reccommend ?
View 1 RepliesCurrently we are running a FMS 3.5 server and to 99.9% of our clients they can see our streams with no issues. This all started after we moved server from influxes to in house. Everything was back to working ok but one client. They must be behind a very secure network becasue they see the player we have but no video, only gray boxes. My first guess is that they are blocking RTMP. I tried to get into her machine via remote but it required domain authentication. This was working with our old system but not the new one. Nothing much has changed execpt hosting companies. Normally we could use port 80 to stream out of but we currently have a different web server fordwaring traffic through 80 and our firewall will not route host headers. What could be the best way to make this work?

View 13 RepliesWhat would be some top reasons an FLV will not stream with Flash Media Streaming Serve 3.5? I ran the FLVcheck.exe on the FLV and it passed; however, the FLV will not stream. If I could just get some good reasons that would cause an FLV from streaming I think that will give me a good starting point for troubleshooting.

View 4 RepliesJust like the title says I am using Flash Media Live Encoder and I have three streams. The encoder is sending the streams just fine but I am not sure how to deliver it to the client. The only one that shows up is "livestream1". "Livestream2" and "Livestream3" won't even come up.

What do I need to do to make RTMP videos work from SAN directory on Flash Streaming Server. It works fine for http. RTMP from vod -> application folder works fine. View 2 RepliesWe (the university I work for) want to add an IP camera to the top of a building (so it has to be IP, we can't put a machine up there, so USB is out of the question) to stream a live view of the quad. The problem is, I can't find a way to stream any IP Cameras through the flash live encoder. I tried a camera by Axis, but their capture driver only supported MJPEG which the live encoder does not.

View 5 RepliesI'm running Flash Media Streaming Server and have only been serving VOD up until now. I had my network administrator open up port 1935 to the outside world during the setup process and now I can't remember if that was actually required for streaming VOD to clients. Most documentation I've read says that this port should be open, but I seem to recall reading something at one point that suggested it wasn't necessary.
I've just started messing around with publishing live streams using Flash Media Live Encoder to the Flash Media Streaming Server. I have that working without issue but was surprised to find that no authentication is required before a client running the live encoder can publish a stream to the Flash Media Streaming Server. An authentication module is available however it only works with Flash Media Interactive Server and Flash Media Development Server.
If I leave port 1935 open to the outside world, there would be nothing to stop anybody anywhere from streaming video via my server. Anyone else running a default install of Flash Media Streaming Server and with port 1935 open to the outside should see that this is true of their setup as well. I'm wondering if I can safely close port 1935 without limiting the functionality of the server or if there's some way I can require authentication prior to publishing a live stream even though I'm not on the four-and-a-half-times-more-expensive edition of the product.
when i try to live stream with FMS! I can stream video with Flash media live encoder to the server but when i create the player to recieve the livestream from server,i can not recieve the live stream,can anyone give me a step by step tutorial of how to do it?
View 1 RepliesWe are streaming a one hour F4V from streaming media server 3.5.2 and for some reason it is seeing our one hour video as being 10 hours long. We have tons of other videos and never ran into this problem in any of the other files. This is the only file that exceeds one hour. This occurs in the default player from the streaming server.

View 2 RepliesI have a FMS 4.5 with (License) and is set up and running fine, now I want to stream Live to the IOS Devices but no luck. I have a web page for test purpose with the video src tags to: URL... and in the server I have a livestream.m3u8 pointing to the same URL..., Now the Encoder have the AAC plugin and all the presets like it shut but when I go to see it in my IPad 2 this is how it looks.

View 8 RepliesOnly just getting started on this whole domain of learning, so go easy!If I set up a P2P video/audio chat (similar to the sample VideoPhone thing on the Cirrus site), can I get the stream from both parties to send to a server at the same time so that I can record it? If so, would I have to use a FMS to stream it to and perform the recording (and if so which version could I get away with)? Are there any (preferably free, or just tutorialised) solutions for the recording side of things?
Currently it seems like the only option for doing the P2P thing is to use Stratus/Cirrus unless I use FMS4 Enterprise.
how effective this kind of situation can be, in terms of quality of the stream and recording? Does any of this make sense?

View 1 RepliesBy default, the server runs as System Account with no access to network drives. You can change the service user to a user with network access privileges with a UNC path. In Windows 2008, when I change FMS service to log on as user and start the service I get
"Windows Could not start the Flash Media Server (FMS) service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly".
When I change it back to Local System Account, it works fine. Tested in Windows 7 x64 and I was able to start the service as a user log on. I checked the local policy group and the user have rights to log on as a service. I compared Windows 7 setting to Windows 2008 and they match.
I have a problem with FMS 3.5 installed on Windows 7. The problem is that FMS works only on my local machine, I am not able to use it from computers in local network. I turned off all windows firewalls and my machine is visible for other computers - I am able to connect to FMS Welcome site on apache on default port 8134, but streaming fails, and I cannot do the same on port 80.
View 8 RepliesI've had FMS running on my local machine for a while and have had a little experience writing FMS apps, but I've just tried recording audio for the first time using the standard vod application and I keep getting a "Write access denied for stream" error. My AS3 code is copied and pasted for various examples and am confident that it works.
I'm running Windows XP service pack 3 & FMIS 3.5.
I've had a look at the vod/media directory and under windows->properties the read-only attribute is ticked. Every time I un-tick this it reverts back to being ticked. I've googled this and MS say that most programs ignore the read-only attribute and that it only really applied to files. I've also tried the MS fix for setting the read-only attribute via cmd and still no joy (doesn't fix read-only attribute or FMS recording the audio after setting via cmd).
I've also tried our dev server install of FMS (running under linux) and am getting the same results.

My Encoder is setup with three streams: Vid: 500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 800 kbps - Audio: 48 kbpsVid: 1500 kbps - Audio: 48 kbps I start the encoder and everything looks fine in the log. In my browser (Safari or Firefox) I go to my html site and the stream starts after 6-8 sec. But anytime with the lowest bitrate 548 kbps and nothing look like the stream is switching to another bitrate. I tried it with the smil playlist and the result is the same. Only the lowest bitrate is plublished.

I have recently installed FMIS 3.5.3. In checking the access logs I find data in both logs that display the same stream stop and stream play time .I'm not sure why the time is the same (00:19:27 example below). Videos play fine when testing from work (T3 connection). However, occasionally a very slight hesitation when playing video from home (I have cable connection). [code]...
