Printing Using Flex Burrito In Android / Ipad / Blackberry
Feb 26, 2011
I 'm thinking about developing a restaurant application using Flex Burrito. Is there anyone who can tell me if it possible to print from an Android enabled device to a WIFI printer / kitchen printer? (is it possible to do this also on an IPAD, Blackberry?)

how I am making a site in flash they always say "flash is not the best choice, its obsolete now. because search engines and iPod/I phones + blackberries cannot read its content. The problem is, I fell comfortable using flash and think that it is a great tool, but am disappointed in a way that adobe has not optimized this application for the 2012 and beyond.
My question is it possible to take a site all done in flash and converted it entirely to html, and will it work? I have read articles about html5, and programs that can convert flash to html 5 but how accurate are there, are they any bugs with them?

I have created a simple "Hello World" Application using Flash Builder Burrito SDK. I have tested the result in the emulator it is working great. After that I deployed the application using "Export Release Build Option" and entered valid certificate details and created the .apk file. I copied the .apk file into the device and i run the application. I am unable to run the app. I have tried these in 3 android supported devices and in each of these I am getting different error messages.
I have mentioned the device in which I have tested and the error message I got while I tried to install the app (.apk file).
HTC Desire - "Error while parsing the package of the application"
Samsung Galaxy Tab - "Error while parsing the package of the application"
LG Optimus one (LG P500) - "Application not installed"
I have created a New Mobile Project in the flash SDK and added simple label "HELLO WORLD" in the view section. Before deploying I have installed Adobe AIR 2.5 in the device. I need to know whether any restrictions are there for applications developed using Flash Burrito Preview Release. (whether by default all android mobile version more than 2.1 will support it?) Also when I try to install "Tour De Mobile Flex" apk in LG Optimus, it is saying "Device not supported" message. How do I overcome these problems to run the apk file without any problems.

I need to serve live video streams to Flash players, Apple devices, and Android and Blackberry handhelds. Right now I'm using FMS (actually, the CDN I stream through is running FMS), and configuring Wowza Media Server to suck the Flash stream from FMS and reprocess it for Apple, Android, and Blackberry. It works well, but it's kind oif a PITA having to have a separate server just to handle mobile devices.
Is anyone aware of any plans to release a version of FMS that will stream directly to Apple and Android? I saw a video clip on Techtilt of an Adobe presentation at NAB where they were showing live streaming to iPad, but that clip didn't way anything about when we might actually see that version of FMS become available.

I have built a multi-touch application which is based on a Java EE backend and combined with BlazeDS to a Adobe Flex frontend. The application runs on a DIY-Multi-Touch which I built. Now I want to use another solution. The Adobe Flex frontend (with a multitouch library) and the BlazeDS adapter should be replaced by a solution which covers iPhone/iPad, Android and commercial Multi-Touch displays.
The problem is the iPad/iPhone, there is no Flash Player runtime (not the jail-breaked ones), but the application should be runnable also on those devices. So Adobe Flex and a Java frontend (no JVM on the iPhone/iPad) is not possible anymore. At first, starting the developing of the application it was not neccessary, to run it on Apples mobile devices, but this changed So, what can I do, using HTML5? So I can use it for Android and iPhone/iPad. But I also want to make it possible to use it on a commercial multi-touch-display and normal display with a mouse (I only have gestures for one finger, the 2-finger gestures are not neccessary). Are there any frameworks that allow this? Because I do not want to create several frontends (App for iPhone/iPad on Objective-C and a Adobe Flex for all other devices), it would be great if I can build a frontend for all devices.

I'm creating a pure actionscript 3 mobile project for Blackberry Playbook. One problem I have came across is that there seems to be no inbuilt way to handle view navigation. In flex mobile projects, we have the spark.components.ViewNavigator component, but this isn't available on a pure AS3 mobile project. These two links are both making their own libraries for view navigation...

I am creating a Playbook app in Adobe Flex/AIR. I have a situation where there is too much content to show all on one page so I would like it where the content overflows vertically, the user can swipe to scroll down, like they were viewing a website on an Ipad.
I am extending the View class to make my screens, I could place every screen in a one element List or surround it all in a Scroller but surely there must be an inbuilt way to do this on the Playbook?
With the limited Blackberry documentation, I'm struggling to find the solution,

I've recompiled my app with Flex 4.6 / AIR 3.1 and now when I upload to the Android market it says my app is using a "android.permission.BROADCAST_STICKY" permission. In it's simplest terms what is it and can or should I turn it off (it's not in the app descriptor file)?
BTW I used captive runtime for the first time in this upload. Would that have anything to do with it?

I have a sprite that has a scrollbar that uses the scrollrect feature. The sprite has several bitmaps and textfields. When I print the outer sprite (The one with the scrollrect) all of the textfields outside the scrollrect are cut after the first line. In case anyone else is having problems with printing sprites with scrollrects using the bitmap printing option fixes and prints most of the stuff in the sprite. Excluding all textfields outside of the scrollrect. This however can be fixed partially by embedding your fonts.
So now the only problem left is printing multiline textfields that are outside the scrollrect. P.S. Imho the scrollrect should have nothing to do with the printed area of the sprite because the printJob.addPage has a printarea parameter.

I have a problem - How to run AIR (really big desktop application) on my Galaxy Tab 10.1? It's possible convert .air to .apk?
EDIT:
1. I set up a new desktop project (File -> New -> Flex Project)
2. Project name is "simpleTest", Application type is Desktop (runs in Adobe AIR), Flex SDK version 4.6.0 and click to Finish
3. I go to Design mode, then set the width to 500 and height to 250. I add one button by drawing and name it btnOne and make Generate Event Handler
4.Then I go to Project -> Export Release Build (Export as Signed AIR package) -> Next (I apply the certificate) -> Finish
5. I find the project file (...Adobe Flash Builder 4.6simpleTest) and copy simpleTest.air into a new file (simpleTestAPK - which contains my certificate > andCert.p12)
6. I rename "simpleTest.air" to "simpleTest.zip" and from this .zip I unpack just "simpleTest.swf" and "application.xml"
7. I create a "create.txt" containing as follows:
adt -package -target apk-debug -storetype pkcs12 -keystore andCert.p12
myHope.apk application.xml simpleTest.swf
8. I rename "create.txt" to "create.cmd" and launch it (Shift + RMB -> Open cmd here)
9. "myHope.apk" is created
10. I copy this to Galaxy Tab 10.1 (with drag&drop)
11. I launch "myHope.apk" but all I see is blank, white screen, no colors, no buttons, nothing.
