Professional :: Cannot Delete Frames From FLA File

I am very new to flash. I have a marketing video with audio that is very long, I need to delete frames 20 - 1430 from the .fla to make it shorter. I hope I'm using the terminology correctly, I essentially want to cut out frames 21 - 1429; all the images, the audio and the frames themselves, essentially make it be like they were never there. I can't even seem to select the frames properly. I followed these instruction: [URL]. Then edit/timeline/remove frames and nothing happened. The frames are still there. I have the full Creative Suite Master collection 5.5, so it doesn't have to be in flash.

I am making a tile based game. I create the tiled movieclips with a nested x and y for loop.What I want to do is to return to the menu. So I try to unload all of the movieclips such as the player. Then I do another nested for loop to unload the tiles.I used unloadMovie(movieclip);Then I used the normal gotoAndStop(1); statement.But the problem is that instead of it returning to the menu it doesn't change. The tiles are still there.

I have two buttons and an swf file (a movie I created in After Effects). I want to do the following:
-When the page loads I would like the swf file (the TV) the stay frozen on frame 1 (the picture of the child's face).
-When the mouse is rolled-over the "Home" button, I want the swf file (the TV) to play frames 2-59, and loop on these frames until the mouse is rolled-off the "Home" button.
-When the mouse rolls off of the "Home" button I want the swf file (the TV) to instantly go back to frame 1 and stay on frame 1 until the mouse rollsover another button.
If the mouse rolls over the "Products" button, I want the TV to loop frames 60-109, and again instantly go back to frame 1 when the mouse is rolled-off the "Products" button. I will use these buttons as a template, copy and paste them, so that I can easily make different segments of the TV play when different buttons are rolled-over. Please take a look at the fla file [URL]. The fla file is a little large (about 23 megs).

I am a Flash novice who was asked to do a brief training exercise on importing a simple .swf (3D animation) into Flash. However, I cannot figure out how to center the .swf on the Flash stage. Flash always places it in the top left corner of the stage, and while I can center each individual frame of the 50-frame animation by using the align feature in the properties window, I do not know how to center the entire 50-frame clip all at once. Do I have to use ActionScript to do this? And if so, what is the exact code I would need for this, and what exact procedure would I follow?

How can I copy multiple frames from one file to another and paste in place? For some reason when I do this flash pastes them to the left of where they need to be even though the stages are the same size.

I am trying to delete some files from a flash template I purchased, when I open the .fla file in flash and go into the library, I would like to delete the contact box and the mp3 player, when I locate those files in the library and delete the files, the website no longer opens up (it will not work when I delete those files from the library)?

I am trying to delete some copy but when I do it, it leaves a huge black space (previewed in Firefox and Safari on Mac) which is the space left when I deleted the script and I don't know how to close up the black space (like I would do in indesign or Word). I am doing something wrong but I don't know how to fix this simple thing.

i've deleted an audio file from my flash file and imported a better converted version of the same song to it, but now when i compile a swf of the file i get a msg in the output window saying "multiple copies of sound item in swf". i deleted the original file b4 importing the other 1, but it looks like that doesnt matter. what do i do short of starting COMPLETELY over?

2) text is set to auto-suggest string such that the un-typed part is highlighted.

I am building an application in flash that speaks to a database using PHP. I know you can remove rows from a database in PHP using a DELETE in the SQL statement. We are writing log files to File.applicationDirectory and want to clean out old log files. The question is how do you delete files out of that directory? When I try and delete old log files out of this directory it gives a security exception. Is there anyway around this? I know you are not supposed to write to File.applicationDirectory, but we are writting are logs there anyways.

have a movie clip that I am moving with tweens. When the user clicks a button it creates a new tween and the movie clip moves. However, I have another button that sets the position of the same movie clip. The problem comes when this button is clicked if the tween is in progress. The tween continues and my content moves out of view. Is there a way to stop or delete the tween when the second button is clicked?Here is a simplified example of the relevant AS:

I am very new to ActionScript. I have a .fla file which contains the AS2 code for the frames. What I need to do is that I have to export this code as a separate file. There may be a separate file(or class file) for each frame code. Is it possible to me do it automatically without losing animation interactivity and functionality? Or is there any other way?

I'm using AS 2.0.I have big MC(circle - vector). It's not perfect circle because of Flash.On this circle I have some mc's (small circles - bitmaps) --> I'm using attachMovie on Big circle. I'm rotating with big circle by 45 degrees.Sometimes I have to delete small circle and create another one at the same location. But after rebuild the position of new small circle is a little bit changed[mm].It's visible and I'm very disappointed. It happens even the rotation is 0.

I know the flash player run all applications in a sandbox for security reasons. But maybe is there the possibility for the user to allow local filesystem operations (in some advanced settings). Or maybe to sign/join a certificate.

My client has purchased a Flash template which I'm in the process of editing. The XML file has 5 images linked to the Flash file, I've replaced the first 3 images, all works when uploaded to the remote server but when I delete the the last image (5) only the first 2 images show when run in Flash Player. If I view it in live view Dreamweaver (CS5) it runs with no problems ie it runs through the 4 images as expected.Can't figure it out checked the usual things, deleted the files on the server, cleared the cache in Firefox, I'm quite rattled spent the whole day on this, still can't get it to work.

[URL] I'm using 2 .swf files. The Main.swf file loads the portfolio.swf file when you click on the Portfolio tab. On the portfolio.swf page I have 4 buttons that go to different frames on the portfolio.swf file The buttons do not work when you click on them and I have no idea why.

I'm looking for a solution to the following problem and I'm not sure if this is possible to do with Umbraco.We have a Flash movie which will read in images/paths to images and an accompanying title via XML and we need to be able to manage these through Umbraco.Is it possible to program an event for when an image is uploaded or removed from this specific folder so that it makes changes to the XML file and so it adds or removes the corresponding data?

I accidentally clicked an area on the timeline that made all the frames to the right of the layers disappear. I've gone through all the menus including VIEW and WINDOW where I thought I would be able to make the frames appear and can't find it anywhere! I've docked and un-docked, moved around the timeline and still can't get the frames back. Adobe HELP couldn't help me. How do I get the frames to get back to the right of the layers?

I am a high school student who has an assignment to develop a Flash Video. My goal is to make a really cool Flash Video by downloading a Youtube video of paintballers and then converting their images to a line drawing and then animating the line drawing. Well the problem is that after I've imported the FLV into Flash CS5 I find it impossible to edit out an internal chunk of the video. Every time I try to remove a chunk of the video, it ONLY DELETES A SECTION FROM THE END OF THE VIDEO!
Now, it should be a simple process, select the chunk, Edit->Timeline->Remove Frames
It seems so obvious that I don't mean to delete the END of the video, I mean to delete the highlighted section. What's the point of highlighting a section if you're just going to delete "X" amount of frames on the end? Shouldn't this feature be called, "Delete frames from end of video"?

im planning to create a movie file that might have over 16,000 frames?i know this sounds silly but,i have already created 14 scenes which is just over 15,500.i have created the 15th scene but it stopped playing because i know maximum number of frame we can have is 16,000. is there any way around this problem? its a huge presentation im doin and there is loads of stuff going in it.

IS the code used for AS3 in the frames so much different from the code used in the external .as files? Because when I try something simple in an external file, it doesn't work. For example, if I try to dynamically make textfield box, and set it to input :

I have some PNG files with alpha numbered 'image0001.png' up to 100 frames. I want to import this as an animation (movie?) into Flash CS4. The docs for Adobe Media Encoder suggest there should be an "export stills as movie" option under Settings but I can't find it. What would be the best way to bring in these .png files into Flash?
