Professional :: Stop / Delete A Tween In Progress?
Jun 15, 2010
have a movie clip that I am moving with tweens. When the user clicks a button it creates a new tween and the movie clip moves. However, I have another button that sets the position of the same movie clip. The problem comes when this button is clicked if the tween is in progress. The tween continues and my content moves out of view. Is there a way to stop or delete the tween when the second button is clicked?Here is a simplified example of the relevant AS:
I'm making a "master movie" for an assignment and I'm stuck right now. What I've got is an Intro page that will serve at the Parent.swf to load 4 other child swf's upon a mouse click. The problem is I have a theater stage where I tweened an animation to make it appear the curtain on the stage is going up but once it reaches it maximum height....the tween abruptly stops. I want it to HOLD there until a user clicks a button.
How would I make this happen? Here is the page in question: [URL]...
I created a motion tween. I stried to put an action script, stop();, at the end of the tween but it says "Current selection cannot have actions applied to it.". How do I stop the tween then?
I'm a young girl who recently discovered flash cs3 (I started yesterday) I found this tutorial about how to make a flying bird. I did as the tutorial said, I just made a butterfly instead of a bird. Now I made a flower and I want the butterfly to land on the flower. The tutorial only showed me how to make the bird/butterfly fly through the scene and not how to stop it while I still see it in the scene. I figured out how to stop the motion tween but then the butterfly dissappeared from the flash file after it stopped and I also figured out how to make it land on the flower but it keeps moving its wings Now I need help to make it stop moving the wings while it's still visible. I hope my explanation is understandable. As I said I just started with this program so I don't know how to explain all the different things.
I tried to upload the file on imageshack but it seems like it doesn't support this kind of file, or I'm saving it wrong. I could need some help with that too so I can show others what I'm making without that they have to download the file so it's easier to get help when I'm stuck A link to the .swf file [URL]
I'm just learning about the Tween class and it's going fine. However I have a case where I want a tween to run one time and then become inactive. I have an airphoto which the user can click anywhere to zoom in on and using this code:
i have a tween that moves a progress bar along the x using scaleX but when the user presses a button i want the progress bar to scaleX -= 0.2 but when i do this it scales to taht size but immediatly jumps back to where it was in the tweener tween.
I have Actionscript setup to as two functions that triggers the tweener event onRelease, and each link has its own tween, what I am trying to accomplish is reset the previous tween when the new link is clicked. Here's my actionscript:
I have a small problem, how it's possible to delete a tween effect after he has finished the tween?I use tween class, this is the code, and i want in frame 41 to delete the tween.
Code: btn_sector1.holder.loadMovie ("sector1.jpg"); btn_sector1.buttontext.theText.text = "S E C T O R 1";
Is there anyway to kill a keypress event in progress(bubbling?). Basically I have a chat app that on pressing enter sends the message, also in the keypress handler it clears the input textfield. however it still adds the return back into the field and since its doing it after the keypress i cant shift the carret to zero. so you always ended up starting on line 2 with a on line 1. I tried to null and void the keypress when it hit my handler but that did not change anything. is there anyway way to kill the event once its called? basicly making sure any other handlers after it dont get called?
I have a situation where I'm using the FLVPlayback component and it starts off blank, meaning that it shows the video player skin but doesn't load a movie until prompted to do so. However, the progress bar in the skin is acting as if a movie is being loaded. I'd like to make it invisible or stop it until I need it, but I can't seem to target it. I've tried the following with no success.[code]
I've built an online magazine, that has several links to videos. One page has four of them. They all work great except under one specific circumstance. If the user quickly opens a video, and closes it, moving on the to next, and doing the same, the 3rd or 4th video may appear unresponsive. I've narrowed this down to being a bandwith issue. If I look at my activiyt in Safari, the FLV files continue to download even if the user closes my player.
Is there anyway to kill this download if the user closes a player?[code]...
Finally I was able to get my site running with a little FLASH ACTIONSCRIPT in it. (all courtesy of url....)I got so excited and published it right away 'cause I think for as a photographer, it's a huge accomplishment on my part.In my main movie, there are 3 BUTTONS namely: Portfolio, About me, and Contact.In the main timeline I added this script below
if you notice it, there is a 30 second timer set to purposely move the playhead back to "rewind" and load the RANDOM SCRIPT again. The problem comes whenever you click on either ABOUT ME or CONTACT, because once you are in those frame, the timer will bring you back at "rewind" naturally.I tried to search for some way to stop the timer when pressing ABOUT ME and CONTACT but haven't seen one yet.
I have a simple script that rewinds a movieclip I made. In the movieclip there are two stops. The movie plays fine and stops at my stop();s when it's going forward. But when it moves backwards, it doesn't respond. What do I need to ad to make this stop at my stop();s?
Code: function playBackwards(mc){ mc.onEnterFrame = function() {
I am pulling in values from an xml and displaying them in a text field.The issue I am having is that if the value ends with a 0 Flex is automatically dropping it.So if I have this element in the xml;[code]but it still automatically removes the 0 at the end.
I want to stop ProgressEvent.Progress and two seconds to determine whether the Internet connection is dialup. Is there a way to stop ProgressEvent.Progress when bytesLoaded < bytesTotal? Right now, the event continues until the entire *.jpg file is loaded and/or creates a fatal error closing Flash. Here's the code I'm using:
I'm running into some problems using the close() method.I'm trying to build a class that checks a resource size before loading it.it's very simple: I use the Loader class to load the resource, listens to the first progress event and immediately closes the connection with the Loader.close() method.However, the close() doesn't seem to stop the Loader after the first progress event dispatched.here is a quick copy & paste frame code just to demonstrate my point:
I will have three seperate pages for the motion tween, mask effect and shape tween... would you make the seperately, in a different scene, as a symbol or on the same scene with the website.
I am facing a problem in one of my animation with flash CS4 - I have nested a Shape Tween in a Motion tween to get more control over the easers and effects, unfortunately I am not able to view on the timeline of my Motion Tween the action of the Shape tween nested inside.
It only show the first shape of the Shape Tween during the entire Motion Tween and that is really a problem for me because I need to see the final frame result of that Shape tween to be able to position it in a precise way on my scene according to other instances.
I have an SWF movie (1375 frames) and created a progress bar (248px wide) with a slider that moves according to the movie progress. I'm doing that next way:Calculating the distance for the slider to be moved each frame (248 / 1375) On each ENTER_FRAME moving the slider for the calculated distance The problem is - the movie ends far before the slider reaches the end of the progress bar.
I'm thinking that the distance (Step 1) is is somehow ends floored by Flash and the actual distance it moves the slider is smaller than required. That's why the movie ends, but the timeline control just passed the 2/3 of its way. My question is - is there any solution for the problem? Or any other way to go, if it's a wrong one?
I have made my first flash website. I want to add a progressbar (preloader) for my welcomepage. I tried the progressbar component, but I couldn't find any way to match the time which is needed for swf to be loaded whith the time that longs the progressbar to ritch 100%.
trying to calculate the size of a progress bar.Here is the thing I have a movie with X scenes and I want the progress bar to fill up according to the porcentage of my timeline that has passed.here is the code I'm using
var parcialSeek var completeSeek this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, tamanhoBarra) function [code]...
with this code every new scene the bar starts again and since I don't have exacts 100 frames on my movie the bar size dosen't match?
I have been writing a Flash Web App that basically reads a master XML file, which is just a list of XML files that are scenarios for a client. Its like an image Gallery, except instead of Images its a series of Scenarios that show all the great abilities of the Product.
My problem is that I have created an interval based animation with the Tween Class, and it works fine except when the User Clicks the next Scenario Button, there is always an Object or two that stays behind and animates.[url]...
I'm using windows Vista 64 bit (work machine, not personal) with Adobe CS5 production premium. I have this training I created in flash and it used to export just fine.I was able to test and everything, but lately, it stopped doing that. I hit CTRL+enter, and it won't give me a SWF file. I hit debug it says it can't find the swf. I looked in the folder where everything is for the training, and sure enough, there is no SWF file there. I tried hitting CTRL + enter and watching the folder. The SWF file appears while the export progress bar is going, but the second the bar is done, the file vanishes. For a while, if I went into File and hit Export Movie, it worked, but even that's stopped working.
I got these four errors when I tried to create a button on the stage that would delete the text I inputted in the inputtext(ti). Based on the scripts I have and the errors, what should I write to create the delete button?
i've deleted an audio file from my flash file and imported a better converted version of the same song to it, but now when i compile a swf of the file i get a msg in the output window saying "multiple copies of sound item in swf". i deleted the original file b4 importing the other 1, but it looks like that doesnt matter. what do i do short of starting COMPLETELY over?
I'm having trouble where when I go to [URL] and hit delete sites (either all or one at a time) they never delete. When I refresh my browser they are still there!
