Professional :: Find The Number Of Touch Points?

Jul 23, 2010

I'm using the TouchEvent listener rather than the TransformGestureEvent listener because the TransformGestureEvent listener's built in gestures (particularly zoom) seem to be extremely slow and poorly thought out. So I'm dealing with raw touch data and I need to find the number of current touchpoints. Is there a method that returns the number of touchpoints currently on the screen?

Professional :: Find Out Where The Link For A Button Points To?

Aug 10, 2010

I installed a Flash template that has a "Read More" button which is used in several locations of the site.  The button corresponds to a single symbol called "button_more" and another symbol within that symbol called "area_more".  It's a "Movie Clip" type of symbol, not a "Button" type symbol.

What I'm trying to figure out is where would I find the link to the page where that button points to - it points to different pages of the site depending on where it's located.  For example, in the About Us section it links to a page that has more details describing About Us.  In the Services section it links to a page that has more details describing Services.  So the same symbol is going to different links.

I checked the Properties of the symbol and it doesn't have any option for a link. (I guess it's not really going to a link, but to a different frame in the timeline)  But where would I find exactly where each button points to in case I want to edit one of them in the future, or create a new button with a new link?

Professional :: Find The Serial Number In The Software Itself?

Jun 25, 2010

I recently purchased a macbook pro from eBay which had Flash CS4 already installed on it, but which didn't come with the original documentation or CDs that would have had the serial number.  The seller said he would send along the appropriate numbers when he tracked them down, but he never got back to me again.  I'd like to upgrade to Flash CS5 now, so is there any way I can find the serial number through the software itself?  I've seen similar threads to this one elsewhere in the forums and the most promising answers have involved people locating truncated numbers in the software and asking Adobe to decrypt them.  Unfortunately, I can't even find these truncated numbers...

Javascript :: Find To Go Forward Or Reverse In Two Points On A Wrapping Timeline?

Mar 29, 2011

I have a time line of 500 points. On a timeline that wraps around how do I find if the shortest distance between two points is to go forward or backward? Example,I'm on frame 30, the target frame is 100 and the total frames are 500. I know that going it will take 70 frames to get to 100 going forward and 430 to go in reverse but I don't know the codes to figure this out. I'm using ActionScript but I think I would understand the codes if it were written in other professional languages like JavaScript.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Math With Prototypes And Functions - Find The Distance Between Two Points

May 19, 2003

So, right now when I want to find the distance between two points, I go: dist = Math.sqrt((this_x-that_x)*(this_x-that_x)+(this_y-that_y)*(this_y-that_y)) BLECH! I don't want to do that every time. So I want to make a nice little function that I can apply to an object. Problem is, I don't know how to do this. Is it possible to end up with something as easy as: Math.dist(thisclipname, thatclipname)? How do you guys set up functions that do bulky math and return nice clean numbers?

Professional :: Test Touch Events In SWF File?

May 7, 2011

I am trying to write a simple program, just to practice, that will use touch events for an iPad. I don't have a developer account and so am testing the app on my computer. However, it does nothing. Clicking the mouse on the movie clip does nothing. I even copy and pasted someone else's code so that I was sure it wasn't because I got my syntax wrong. Nothing. Is there a way to test touch events on a computer, or do I have to compile the app and send it to an iPad everytime I want to test the app? Is there no AIR simulator that will simulate touch events using a mouse, as there is with XCode?

Code:

Professional :: Touch Screen Doesn't Trigger Mouse Down Event Correctly?

Mar 12, 2010

i have designed a gaming kiosk app in as3i am using it on a Sony vaio l pc (like hp's touchsmarts) in windows 7the app doesn't need any multi-touch gestures (only single touch clicks and drags) so i am using mouse eventseverything is fine (including mouse click and move events) except that a single touch to the screen (with no move) doesn't fire a mouse down. it is fired only after a small move of the fingeroutside the app, on my desktop, i see that the small windows 7 cursor jumps immediately to where a finger is placed, meaning this issue isn't a hardware or a windows problem but rather how internally the flash app receives "translated" touch-to-mouse events from the os.for example, in a windows Solitaire game, a simple touch to the screen immediately highlights the touched card.in my app, a button will change to the down state only if i touch it and also move my finger slightly.

Flash8 :: Find Out The Serial Number Of The MX

Jun 16, 2010

I recently bought a new machine and tried to put my Flash 8 software onto it. The serial number was fine, but it requested the serial number of the software I upgraded from, which I no longer have (MX, I think it was. I threw it out ages ago thinking I didn't need it ). I can't even remember what email address my macromedia/adobe account was under, it might even be under an email address for a domain I no longer have.

I do still have the software installed on my old PC. Is there anyway I can find out the serial number of the MX I upgraded from off of the Flash 8 on there? Or it is a lost cause?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Find Number Within String?

Jul 28, 2011

Im looking to be able to find a number (any number) within a text string, what i ultimately want to do is crop the number out of the string to just be left with a number value, the only problem is the string could be any length and the number doesnt necessarily start at any point from the last characterI have items on the stage named 'image0', 'textfield2', 'button500' etc, as you can see the prefix before the number isnt a fixed length so I couldnt use substr and set an index, and since the number could be any number i couldnt set the index as a certain value before the end of the string. (ie it might return '500' or 'ld2' or 'ge0' in the examples given before)

Flash :: Find Bit Masks For Number Positions

Dec 21, 2011

I'm trying to work out a logic for a game (in Flash). In one part, given the following row:

_ _ * _ _ __ *

I need to find if all the spaces between the *'s are empty (Non-empty values other than * can occur in the row). This operation is done quite frequently. I was wondering if I could use bit representations of rows to achieve this, instead of looping through and checking the intermediate positions.

For a row _ _ * _ _ _ * represented as xx1xxx1 (x = 1 or 0), I could AND it with 0001110 so that if the answer is 0000000, the intermediate positions are empty.

The question here is, of course, how to find this second map (0001110 above) using bit operations (in Flash AS2)? (Map (1,4) -> 0110, (1,3) -> 0100 etc) Or is looping through the intermediate positions just the better choice?
