ActionScript 2.0 :: Find Current Level Number?

Nov 6, 2010

I need to trace the current level number that I am working on. So say I have 3 swf's loaded onto different levels (_level0, _level1, _level2, _level3), and each has a button, so when I press the button in level1, the number will trace 1, press button in level2, number will be 2, etc.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Tracing Current Level & SwapDepths?

Jan 25, 2003

I have a main swf that loads 6 movies. And I know how to stack movies in levels and how to target different levels from wherever the user may be. But the trouble is the level/movie on top has to visually overlap the level/movie underneath. And this has to happen dynamically because, say my main movie points to A, B, C, D, E, and F. If I go to B from F, I need to see part of F until I see B. So if I tell Main to open ABCDEF on 1 that works fine. But I can't simply tell A to open B on level 2 because ABCDEF needs to stack on top of the former ABCDEF. Does that make sense? I've been living this for five days and it hardly makes sense to me.

Take my word for it, ABCDE & F need to overlap in a way where I can't just set their levels as one higher than the next.

Actionscript 2.0 :: Find What Level A Movie Clip Is On?

Mar 28, 2009

Here is my dilema. I need to know how to find what level a specific movie within a movie on the main timeline is on.

I am confused because I am not even using external swf's so there should be no levels

I have tried finding the level using

_root.moviename

_level0.moviename

but when i try to assign this to an array variable it outputs as undefined.I have been able to put some other movies in arrays using _level0.moviename

but these movies are nested inside a main movie that is found on the main timeline.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Find Out Current URL?

Jan 18, 2009

I've got two different domains and both of them direct to the same website. This website has a menu on top made in Flash (the rest is HTML, so the page must be reloaded everytime I click on an option or I need new content).

But this Flash movie has to show a different animation depending on the URL.

What can I do to find out the current URL in ActionScript?

Actionscript 3 :: Find Current Location Of Mc?

Jun 23, 2011

I'm trying to create a drag motion by using mouse_down then the mc = mouseX. Here is an image of the situation

But when I click, the mc always jumps to its registration point, which is the top left corner atm.

I can't work my head around how to grab the current location of the mc. Note that the mc (all_mc) is wider than the stage.

this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler);
function mouseDownHandler(e:MouseEvent) {
this.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, mouseMoveHandler);
}

[Code]....

Ok I kind of worked out the x location of the mouse in relation to the registration point of the mc (the registration is at the top left):

Math.abs(stage.x - all_mc.x) + mouseX

But how to I select that point of on the mc?

Flash8 :: Find Out The Serial Number Of The MX

Jun 16, 2010

I recently bought a new machine and tried to put my Flash 8 software onto it. The serial number was fine, but it requested the serial number of the software I upgraded from, which I no longer have (MX, I think it was. I threw it out ages ago thinking I didn't need it ). I can't even remember what email address my macromedia/adobe account was under, it might even be under an email address for a domain I no longer have.

I do still have the software installed on my old PC. Is there anyway I can find out the serial number of the MX I upgraded from off of the Flash 8 on there? Or it is a lost cause?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Find Number Within String?

Jul 28, 2011

Im looking to be able to find a number (any number) within a text string, what i ultimately want to do is crop the number out of the string to just be left with a number value, the only problem is the string could be any length and the number doesnt necessarily start at any point from the last characterI have items on the stage named 'image0', 'textfield2', 'button500' etc, as you can see the prefix before the number isnt a fixed length so I couldnt use substr and set an index, and since the number could be any number i couldnt set the index as a certain value before the end of the string. (ie it might return '500' or 'ld2' or 'ge0' in the examples given before)
