ActionScript 2.0 :: Make More And More Of Them Come Depending On The Current Level?
Aug 31, 2008
i was just wondering if anyone can point me to a right direction or help me out. I have this game with "balls" coming from down and going towards up and i was just wondering how can i make more and more of them come depending on the current level.
I guess all of them are going to be copies of the same "mc" but can anyone me copying them.
I'm working on a game. I want it to attach a different level to the stage depending on what value a 2 variables are, but I keep getting Type Mismatch, or it doesn't work.
Code:
_root.attachMovie(PROBLEM IS HERE,"map"+mapSwitch,_root.getNextHighestDepth());
The current linkages are 00 (0x, 0y), and -10 (-1x, 0y). They are comprised of 2 variables, the first one is xmap, and the second is ymap. I want to be able to combine the 2 variables and then attach the clip with that linkage to the stage.
I`m trying to set-up a script that changes the color of a movie clip, depending on the current url of the page... My code is:
Code: var link = "http://localhost/v-v/indexSRP.php?kategorija="; var link2 = "http://localhost/v-v/index.php?kategorija="; if (_root._url.indexOf(link + "3") == 0) {
I need to trace the current level number that I am working on. So say I have 3 swf's loaded onto different levels (_level0, _level1, _level2, _level3), and each has a button, so when I press the button in level1, the number will trace 1, press button in level2, number will be 2, etc.
I have a main swf that loads 6 movies. And I know how to stack movies in levels and how to target different levels from wherever the user may be. But the trouble is the level/movie on top has to visually overlap the level/movie underneath. And this has to happen dynamically because, say my main movie points to A, B, C, D, E, and F. If I go to B from F, I need to see part of F until I see B. So if I tell Main to open ABCDEF on 1 that works fine. But I can't simply tell A to open B on level 2 because ABCDEF needs to stack on top of the former ABCDEF. Does that make sense? I've been living this for five days and it hardly makes sense to me.
Take my word for it, ABCDE & F need to overlap in a way where I can't just set their levels as one higher than the next.
i need to make a little multimedia/presentation where depending on the options you take (normal buttons) a Mc plays and in the end you a get list of itmes depending on the choices you took. I cant remember how to do it, its been a few years since i last did something like this, is there any good tut where i can understand how to do it? cant find anything, basically what i want is to be able to save the choices the user takes during the "game" and with each lode a different .txt at the end. Is this possible with Fl8? its going on a USB Stick, and it'll be a .exe that will load a few swf . . .
I am just a rookie in Flash, and came across a problem. I'm trying to create a flash movie that will display time like a TV ident does. I've successfully set it up to get the correct time and play a "tik-tok" sound as each second passes. However, it is to have some background music, and I can't get it to start when I need it - for instance, if the time is 18:00:00 it should start at 00 seconds, it time is 18:00:21 it should start at 21 seconds etc. This is the script I used for ticking:
[Code]...
What should I use for the complex situation as described above? My only guess is that I should sync it to the frames in the background video (behind the clock, running at 24 FPS), but I haven't got a clue how to set that up as well. Can someone please help? If necessary I can upload the .fla file.
code to make a preloader jump to a frame depending on the quantity on the movie that has been preloaded? in ex i have a mc of a preloader if 5 percent of the movie its loaded the preloader mc will go to frame 2, if 10% the mc should go to frame 3, etc..
I am creating a board game and I am using Object Oriented Programming with AS3. I created a movie clip with a circle that moves across the game board. There are 18 squares and 18 frames. I have a button that gives you a value with a dice with the random number function:
public function rollDie():void {_dieValue = Math.ceil(Math.random()*6) this.gotoAndStop(_dieValue);}
I have a class for the dice button, die, gameboard, and the main board. I am trying to make the circle move across the board(or go to the frame in the mc) depending on what the value I get with the dice. Here is my code so far:
[Code]....
The mc instance for the gameboard is gameBoard. Also, if anyone knows how to trigger a labeled frame depending on which square the circle lands on that would be a plus.
I'm sure this question has been discussed before? I'm wondering how I can make this particular scrollbar invisible when the text inside is short and visible when the text is longer? What would be the AS for this? I'll attach my file to this post!!
In my game, the character moves trough a map and everytime it hits the end of the map it goes to the next scene in which the map continues.The problem is, the character can come into a scene from two different sides, but I can only let the character appear on one side within the scene.So I was wondering if there is a way to make your character spawn depending on which side he enters the scene?
I have a progress bar as a healthbar in a game. The healthbar regenerates 10 pr millisecond for now because i like the smoothness. But if the delay increases it would take a lot longer to regenerate.
Aren't there any formular to calculate some kind of factor for this? so the lifebar would regenerate within a constant time no matter what. If the delay is 2 seconds it would just make the regen more choppy and if delay is 1 millisecond it would just update more.
I'm attaching the file so that you guys can see that? pretty basic. My main problem is to find out how can the mouse check the mouse position on stage and make the coverflow animate and the movieclip change angle depending on the side, I have to animate only 5 itens, here?s the AS:
I am doing a website in which I load a bunch of movies with an empty first frame to different levels in the first frame of the main movie. When I want to see each movie I have a button which tells a specific level to gotoandplay (2). Every time I "play" a loaded movie, I also tell all the others to gotoandstop (1) - so I wont see them anymore.Is it possible to make a loaded swf to "jump" to a much higher level - and all the other movies go back to a lower level? this way I wont have to make my movies go back to frame 1 all the time.
i've got that when you click a button it takes you to the next frame/level of the game, but i want to make the next level harder, meaning you have to kill all the enemies to goto the next frame/level, so, how do i make it so you have to click ALL 3 buttons on the stage to go to the next frame? Or is there another way to do this?
I am trying to make a password to access a certain level. heres the code ive come up with.
[Code]...
where the input text box var is "input" but for some reason, its not working. the "else" command is working perfectly, but when i try and use the password "35" to get to frame 35 it treats it treats it as "else" as if its not recognizing the password.
Am trying to make a 3 level flash menu. I'm getting into Flash and Actionscript 3 all in all so I'm a beginner as well.I'm also using TweenLite for the tweening and I got as far as the attachment goes. The problem is that when the 3rd and last level comes out on a mouse hover, ok so far so good, when the mouse goes over that 3rd part, the "menu goes back" animation is triggered as if I hovered out of the whole menu It probably sounds confusing, a flash file is worth a million words so check it out. The .fla is for CS3+
I have recently followed a tutorial to make a movieclip in flash that makes buttons spin around a point depending on the mouse position. I have made my own version off this and would like to use it in a full flash website that i am making at the moment.
The only problem that i am having is with aligning this clip and as it is made up of script i cant physicly drag it to were i want it. I understand how to alighn this with x/y positioning but when i preview the flash in a web browser it is positioned correctly but then when i 'full screen' the browser this clip jumps about 4 inches down the page.
I'm creating a simple shooter game and I've replaced the mouse cursor with a custom one. It works good but my monsters appear above the cursor. How do I make the cursor always remain on the top most level/layer?
I have managed to create some buttons movie clips and understand how to link pages. The only question i have is how do you make the button/link for the current page highlight so the user can know what page they are on? Is there a way to have a current page indicator in flash as you can do with html/css?
I have two layers in my FLA both with empty movie clips as follows:In mc_Empty1, I attach a faded background movieclip as I wait for mc_Empty2 to load a SWF. Once the SWF is loaded into mc_Empty2, I want to remove the faded background movieclip from mc_Empty1. When I load the SWF from the main timeline, the onLoad() function works and removes the faded background from mc_Empty1. However, when I load the SWF from mc_target, the SWF loads, but the onLoad() function does not. Here's my AS2 code:
//Loading SWF from main timeline mc_Empty1.attachMovie("mcFadedBg", "mc_FadedBg", 1); mc_Empty2.loadMovie("My.swf");mc_Empty2.onLoad = function():Void{ trace("loaded"); //This works removeMovieClip(mc_Empty1.mc_FadedBg); //This works}
[code]....
I know I'm targeting properly because the SWF loads as it should, but the onLoad() function does not.
This is making me a little kooky today. I thought I could defined a library path in PREFERENCES > ACTIONSCRIPT > ACTIONSCRIPT 3.0 SETTINGS then that library would be available to all AS3 FLA files, but that doesn't seem to work for me. If I use the PUBLISH SETTINGS and define the library path everything is fine.
Is there something that I could have done to disable the application level class path functionality? I guess I'm trying avoid having to set the library path for every new FLA I'm making.
