Sep 4, 2009I am rather new to Flash but have been in software/web development for more than 20 years.I have a project which I have to provide specs on which entails updating over 5000 SWF files from Flash 6 to Flash 9 on about 1000 classroom PCs that do not have internet connectivity.
Currently, I am simply just trying to setup one test machine but I can't seem to find the Flash 9 plugin to download and install. All I seem to find, even with a google search is Flash 10. someone direct me to where I can download the Flash 9 plugin and how to install it on my test machine?
I own Flash CS3 Pro so if there is some way to just copy components from it to the target machine,

Apr 6, 2010My rails website uses the open_flash_graph plugin to generate flash graphs for my clients. If a customer doesn't have flash installed, it doesn't display any messages, it simply doesn't show any graphs.
I've noticed that if I go to other websites that need flash, I get a yellow bar at the top of my firefox window that offers to "Install Missing Plugin".

Doesn't that mean that the Flash plugin is already installed?

Oct 16, 2011Im the new kid on the block so I apologyze if I'm not doing very well.Everything works fine till the moment in which I set the wmode param of the flash movie to transparent, then the movie completely disappears (it loads, as I can listen at the sounds) but it doesn't show.I would like to have a full background image with the transparent flash movie over it, that's all, if somebody can tell me how to fix this or even a new way to do it, it will be so good!!Here is my code, so simple, by the way:

Flash :: Plugin In WebView On Mac Different From Plugin In Safari?
Mar 10, 2012an answer here opening swf files using WebKit framework says the following about running SWF movies inside WebView inside Cocoa application: "because the Flash plug-in is not garbage-collection supported, the plug-in won't work if your application uses garbage collection".
Meanwhile, an answer here Flash AS3 animation in Mac vs Windows discusses Flash garbage collection on Mac (likely in Safari) and says that it sucks but it does exist.
So is the first claim about no garbage collection in WebView false or is the WebView plugin distinct from Safari plugin?

Jan 6, 2011we have a plugin for quark that we use for our catalog that automatically changes the price as we make new catalogs. now we are making an online catalog, i am using flash for parts of it in places that are to be interactive. but i dont want to go through and change all of them as the prices change. is there a plugin like the one for quark but for flash? if not, i'm just going to leave the prices out and let the customer go to the webpage to get the price.

Sep 6, 2003Gb HDD (dual core). I've already installed with succeed Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 with success on my computer with DVD versions on this Windows 7 boot. I precise I already succeed to install Flash CS5 on the same computer but with Windows Vista installed (dual boot), so the installer seems to be OK. But when I'm on my Windows 7 boot, when I try to install Flash CS5 Pro downloadable version, I get some errors as soon as the installer try to copy some files on my HD and the installer stops immediatly with those error messages:

Professional :: Adobe Flash Plugin Frequently Crashes
Nov 18, 2010I'm running out of ideas on what I can do to fix this issue, so I'm coming here for assistance. For the past few weeks, I have been having ongoing issues with the Adobe Flash plugin crashing consistently. This happens on every flash playing website, including YouTube. I experience the following symptoms when playing flash video:Mozilla Firefox
- Sometimes the movie will start, and then I will get the flash plugin has crashed message and the option to send a crash report.
- Sometimes the movie won't start at all and I'm immediately presented with the crash.
- Refreshing the window sometimes will succeed, but again sometimes I get the crash immediately and other times I get it part way through the movie.
Internet Explorer:
- Whenever the plugin crashes, it actually crashes the entire tab of Internet Explorer. No refresh page fix for this one folks.
I have performed the following:
- Ensured that both Firefox and IE are updated... they are.
- Ensuring that the flash plugin is the most up to date version... it is.
- Uninstalled, and reinstalled the flash plugin from Add / Remove Programs
- Uninstalled Flash using the flash uninstaller from the website, and then installing ver 10.0... still crashed.
- Updating from 10.0 to 10.1... still crashed.
I don't recall installing anything additional on my computer besides Call of Duty: Black Ops, and Civilization V within recent months. I'm running Windows 7 Professional which is constantly up to date, and the protection I have on here is Microsoft Security Essentials. I can't think of any application that would interfere with Flash enough to crash it.

It needs to affect anything in a group within that symbol. I was also wondering if there was a way to convert fills back to lines or if there is a plugin for that too. Jan 14, 2011I've noticed (a few months ago, actually) that in most browsers I use to test my application (Firefox, chrome and explorer) the flash plug in, while playing it's content, will stop, or freeze, when the actual plug in playback window is out of the window (due to scrolling, or switching tabs), or covered by another window (a different browser or program window that will cover the visible area of the player), which is something good, and nice, when you think about web pages full of commercials slowing down your browser and computer in general, but what happens when you a games programmer, who work with multiplayer games, on games which are mostly turn based? If one of my players switches tabs, open a new window over the browser, or god forbids, scroll down the page, the game is essentially stopped, since no events occur on that players side of the game!! And this does not effect just simple frame based animation, but everything, onEnterFrame events stop, setInterval stops... the only thing that I could find that does not stop when this happens is a setInterval action done in a different swf, which is loaded to a different level of my game file.

Oct 5, 2007I've notice all the trouble people are having trying to get updates of FP to cooperate with Vista and IE, but is anyone out
there having trouble getting the installer to work on a mac? After running the uninstaller, which says it was successful, I cannot get ANY version of FP to re-install on my mac. Both Firefox and Safari are showing the plug-in as missing and when prompted to download and install, the installation fails again and again.
The only way I have been able to successfully get flash player working again is to re-install my version of Creative Suite,
which automatically installs FP when you install the Flash application.

Jun 22, 2011I've just purchased Adobe's Design Premium CS5 and installed it from the disk onto a brand new Dell XPS laptop running windows 7 home, 64 bit. Every program runs great except for Flash professional which will not open. The loading screen appears, and then I get a message that says:
"Adobe Flash cs5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I reinstalled, no luck.

The container spikes the CPU for long, long, periods of time slowing overall performance noticably.The only way to address the problem is to kill the Firefox plugin container.When I kill the plugin container it kills Adobe Flash.I've tried clearing the flash cache from the Adobe troubleshooting site, deleting all cache applications, and changing settings.My family plays Farmville which is always hanging and can only be fixed by restarting the computer. Okay, maybe farmville is a bad app.

Feb 2, 2010my initiall 30 day trial of flash cs4 loaded but would not uninstall after the 30 days. eventually i just erased the folder in fruo worstration.later downloaded cs4 web premium package but setup.exe wouldnt work on it. redownloaded flash cs4 bout setup.exe didnt work. i get the swriling icon for a few seconds then it disappears and nothing happens. i notice it stilll running in the task manager hours later, but doesnt do anything.
