I have tried to install a component for flash, but it seems that my Adobe Extension Manager keeps crashing every time I try and load it up (load the Extention Manager not the compnent). Does anyone knonw why this might be? How am i able to install a componenet without using the Extension Manager?

View 2 RepliesGb HDD (dual core). I've already installed with succeed Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5 and InDesign CS5 with success on my computer with DVD versions on this Windows 7 boot. I precise I already succeed to install Flash CS5 on the same computer but with Windows Vista installed (dual boot), so the installer seems to be OK. But when I'm on my Windows 7 boot, when I try to install Flash CS5 Pro downloadable version, I get some errors as soon as the installer try to copy some files on my HD and the installer stops immediatly with those error messages:

I've notice all the trouble people are having trying to get updates of FP to cooperate with Vista and IE, but is anyone out
there having trouble getting the installer to work on a mac? After running the uninstaller, which says it was successful, I cannot get ANY version of FP to re-install on my mac. Both Firefox and Safari are showing the plug-in as missing and when prompted to download and install, the installation fails again and again.
The only way I have been able to successfully get flash player working again is to re-install my version of Creative Suite,
which automatically installs FP when you install the Flash application.

View 2 RepliesI've just purchased Adobe's Design Premium CS5 and installed it from the disk onto a brand new Dell XPS laptop running windows 7 home, 64 bit. Every program runs great except for Flash professional which will not open. The loading screen appears, and then I get a message that says:
"Adobe Flash cs5 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I reinstalled, no luck.
my initiall 30 day trial of flash cs4 loaded but would not uninstall after the 30 days. eventually i just erased the folder in fruo worstration.later downloaded cs4 web premium package but setup.exe wouldnt work on it. redownloaded flash cs4 bout setup.exe didnt work. i get the swriling icon for a few seconds then it disappears and nothing happens. i notice it stilll running in the task manager hours later, but doesnt do anything.

View 1 RepliesI would like to know what's the exact command line used to install flash from swflash.cab. Seems that would be something like 'rundll32 advpack.dll...', and I know that FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.EXE uses the switch RegServer from the .inf.
A completely silent command line would be nice to!

When I try to add Eclipse plugins by going to menu, Install New Software, the dialog for "Available Software" is broken. It looks very different from the same dialog in Eclipse, and it has no way to add update sites, etc.

I have another application developed in Flex Builder 3 and a release build with the same installer has no problem.
I have tried to install adobe 9 five times now (free trial). I have disabled norton, disabled pop-ups, downloaded from Firefox and the same message: the wizard was interrupted before adobe acrobat 9 could finish the install.

View 1 RepliesI am working on an iMAC running 10.6, and Flash CS5. I created a flash file with a list button ( with 10 inner sellections) on the main page. Each sellection within the list button loads a separate movie file from the library. Everything works great unitl Iinsert the Home button. If I install the home buton the main page, the list button does not work. If I install the home button in a movie, I don't know how to write the action script to go back to the main page, and I woul have to install a home button into each movie.

Under "Where component files are stored" there are a number of directories listed, all under
C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Flash CS5enConfigurationComponent Source
However, this directory does not exist on my installation. C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Flash CS5enConfiguration does exist, but there is no directory called "Component Source" in this directory.
How can I create a component using Flash CS5? I have tried to follow various documents I have found on google and went about it in the following way:
1. I created an empty FLA.
2. I created a MovieClip containing some graphics, and named the MovieClip "MyTestComponent" in the Library.
3. I selected the MovieClip's properties in the Library and selected "Export for Actionscript", and made the MovieClip inherit from fl.core.UIComponent.
4. I saved the FLA in the directory "C:Program Files (x86)AdobeAdobe Flash CS5CommonConfigurationComponents" and restarted Flash. At this point I would expect that the MyTestComponent component would show up in the Components panel, but it did not.
5. I tried to publish the FLA as an SWC file and place the SWC file in the same file as above. According to my understanding, both this and the step above should have worked, but it did not.
Lets make it simple. Lets say I have the stage with a combo box. I will have 100 frames with the combo box tweening from position to another. I easily can do it and see the animation of the combobox over the timeline. But when I create the swf file, the animation doesn't work. This also happens to all the other components. They don't accept any type of animation except if they are embeded in another movie clip.
