Professional :: Inner Popup Does Not Disable Swf?

Jun 3, 2010I do not know if this is the correct place to ask this question so if there is a better place, just let me know! I am a very novice designer and even worse programmer and I am currently creating a flash movie based website. One of the "pages" of the site has buttons on it that open up a dialogue box which covers the buttons. The dialogue box has a close button to then get open up the area so you can select a different button and thus different dialogue box if you wish. My problem is that when the dialogue box opens, the mouse cursor turns into then "hand selection" cursor and I can still select the buttons that are behind the dialogue box that has been opened. This has all been done natively within the flash movie, no actionscript so a button takes you to frame 5 which has a dialogue box and another button takes you to frame 10, for instance.

Jul 6, 2004i'm using the centered pop up window script from: [URL]. i have multiple buttons in my flash movie which open screenshot html pages in external browser windows. the script works fine except when a popup window stays open. the rest of the buttons don't open/replace past that one popup. i tried changing the window name in the onRelease script to screen1, screen2, etc for each button, but that didn't work.

May 18, 2010Each page has like the first page "Welcome" followed by a brief paragraph followed by a "read more..." link/button which opens to a small popup window with additional 3-4 paragraphs. So the main page has "WELCOME" > small paragraph > read more button.
Below that has "LATEST WORKS" > small paragraph > read more button
Both of those "read more..." lead to the same popup window but have their own title "Welcome" and "Latest works"(don't know where the mini title file is) but the paragraphs are the same which I don't want. I want each "read more..." to open to its own little popup.
Still learning script but is their anything in the script to change or something on stage? Or just redo everything somehow

Jul 26, 2010I am creating a touchcreen (LCD) for a property development.We I am having a problem is on the interactive map.Picture a map with icons all over it.When you touch the icon a image of that area of the map pops up.you then click on a X on the top right to go back to the map.I have probably dont this incorrect and those only because I dont have much knowledge.I have create the map on the lowest layer.The icons (same graphic - eye) are on there own layers.I converted the icon to a BUTTON and added the pop up on the DOWN.The problem I have is when you touch the icon on a layer other than the top layer the top layer icon shows on the screen (ontop of the popup).

Professional :: Flash Game - Customize Size And Location Of Popup Window
Aug 31, 2010In my game people shoot at 4 different moving images and get points. Simple right? Well one of the images is a question mark that people can shoot and when they do, I need flash to pause the game timer, pop up a new window, display the multiple choice question in the window and wait for the user to answer. I would also like to be able to customize the size and location of the pop up window!
Then if the question is answered correctly close window award 10 points and continue the game. If the question is answered incorrectly, say wrong and then display the end game results screen. Right now I have it to where it opens a pop up in a web browser and askes the question there. The question is randomly chosen from a file called random.html. But I do not want the game to operate that way. I want the game to open the pop up within flash.

Professional :: Disable Right Click In Flash?
Aug 28, 2007The company i am working for are designing an interactive flash movie that requires the Right click Menu to be entirely disable, or else the right click option to be disabled. The best that we can achieve at present is to limit the context menu to "About..." and "Settings".
Is there anyway of disabling the right click function in flash so we can secure our movie?
Our problem arises from the User being able to click on the "About..." menu item and launching a browser. We require that the user is not allowed to access this. We have tried to change the Default Browser in Windows to a custom browser, but to no joy.
Is there anyway for us to disable the Flash Menu, or, Disable the Right click function completely or, re-route the About Menu item to a default browser so we can prohibit the user from access the default webpage?

May 13, 2010I have several layers of scrolling BGs via action script. In between these layers are a set of simple buttons made via "button" symbols. Within the stage, the buttons are recognized, however, when I test the movie, the buttons are not recognized/activated by the cursor. My guess is that the scrolling BGs that are on top of everything else (NOT added via "addChild" in a blank movie clip below all other layers) are somehow "blocking" my cursor from reading the simple buttons "below" them.
For the visual aspect of the project, the scrolling BGs are needed both "below" and "above" the buttons, so I need a work-around for simple button use in this multi-level scrolling BG environment. (just to clarify, by "above" and "below" I dont mean vertically above and below, but rather "layered" above and below, so as to "cover" eachother).

Apr 11, 2007Is it possible to disable buttons in a movie clip that is on the root level so that a movie loaded on top of it into level1 doesn't have any hot spots? My file is a map that starts as a movieclip with buttons in level0. There is another movieclip/button that when clicked loads a detail map on top into level1. I would like to have some new buttons in the level1 movie clip but the buttons in level0 are still active and it's confusing to the user. As a workaround, I've created an invisible button covering the entire detail map that doesn't do anything other than change the cursor to the pointing finger.

Mostly it is used for user-entered and dynamic content.However, CS5 is auto-embedding the few characters I use in Arial, and all of the other characters are no longer showing up in the swf file.The only fix seems to be embedding the entire Arial font in the movie, which is too large since I want to be able to support all kinds of characters.Is there a way to turn off auto-font embedding?This feature seems well-intentioned but critically flawed if it can't be turned off.
