What i try to reach is to open a certain detail page when one of the loaded thumbnails is pressed or released see the t.onRelease = function(){ But that isn't working. Both detail pages are opening up automaticaly. What am i doing wrong.
I do not know if this is the correct place to ask this question so if there is a better place, just let me know! I am a very novice designer and even worse programmer and I am currently creating a flash movie based website. One of the "pages" of the site has buttons on it that open up a dialogue box which covers the buttons. The dialogue box has a close button to then get open up the area so you can select a different button and thus different dialogue box if you wish. My problem is that when the dialogue box opens, the mouse cursor turns into then "hand selection" cursor and I can still select the buttons that are behind the dialogue box that has been opened. This has all been done natively within the flash movie, no actionscript so a button takes you to frame 5 which has a dialogue box and another button takes you to frame 10, for instance.

This 'popup' needs to stay up even when the user interacts with the background.I would use modal, but I need the ability to interact with the back. Any way to tell the popup manager not to remove the popup when the user clicks off of it?

View 3 RepliesIn my game people shoot at 4 different moving images and get points. Simple right? Well one of the images is a question mark that people can shoot and when they do, I need flash to pause the game timer, pop up a new window, display the multiple choice question in the window and wait for the user to answer. I would also like to be able to customize the size and location of the pop up window!
Then if the question is answered correctly close window award 10 points and continue the game. If the question is answered incorrectly, say wrong and then display the end game results screen. Right now I have it to where it opens a pop up in a web browser and askes the question there. The question is randomly chosen from a file called random.html. But I do not want the game to operate that way. I want the game to open the pop up within flash.
How to solve this error as it will keep popping out whenever I click on the play button of the game I'm creating.

I am building a reddit app for the blackberry playbook tablet, and am making use of reddit's API. I have three mxml views: RedditReaderHomeView .mxml, redditFeed.mxml, and subredditList.mxml. In RedditReaderHomeView.mxml I have a splitViewNavigator. In left side of my SplitViewNavigator resides subredditList.mxml,and on the right side resides redditFeed.mxml. On initialization, redditFeed.mxml pulls in XML data to populate its list with reddit entries, and subredditList.mxml pulls in XML data which populates its list with subreddits(categories) to display. When a user clicks on of the subreddit entries on the left, the redditFeed.mxml on the right should update so that the data it pulls are entries from the subreddit category that was selected on the left. In other words, classic master/detail navigation. Category on the left, which opens entries of that category on the right.I have a function that passes the url of the selected subreddit over to redditFeed.mxml.

I have a tabbed view with in the second tab a splitview controller.
The master view shows a list. When selecting an item from that list it opens a second view with a new list by using navigator.pushView.
When I select an item in the second view/list it has to be passed to the detailview. Is there a simple solution available?
When I load an internal popup window, I would like for the rest of the movie to be disabled. How might this be accomplished?
View 1 Repliesi'm using the centered pop up window script from: [URL]. i have multiple buttons in my flash movie which open screenshot html pages in external browser windows. the script works fine except when a popup window stays open. the rest of the buttons don't open/replace past that one popup. i tried changing the window name in the onRelease script to screen1, screen2, etc for each button, but that didn't work.

I have to do the out of focus check and then do some validation before close the popup. So what I was thinking that is there any inbuilt focus check event or do we need to create custom event for that?
View 1 RepliesEach page has like the first page "Welcome" followed by a brief paragraph followed by a "read more..." link/button which opens to a small popup window with additional 3-4 paragraphs. So the main page has "WELCOME" > small paragraph > read more button.
Below that has "LATEST WORKS" > small paragraph > read more button
Both of those "read more..." lead to the same popup window but have their own title "Welcome" and "Latest works"(don't know where the mini title file is) but the paragraphs are the same which I don't want. I want each "read more..." to open to its own little popup.
Still learning script but is their anything in the script to change or something on stage? Or just redo everything somehow

I have a 'settings' button that overlays a settings window, semi transparent, over the main application, that has some buttons on it.The problem I'm having is that the buttons on the main window are still selectable, which I don't want. View 1 RepliesI am creating a touchcreen (LCD) for a property development.We I am having a problem is on the interactive map.Picture a map with icons all over it.When you touch the icon a image of that area of the map pops up.you then click on a X on the top right to go back to the map.I have probably dont this incorrect and those only because I dont have much knowledge.I have create the map on the lowest layer.The icons (same graphic - eye) are on there own layers.I converted the icon to a BUTTON and added the pop up on the DOWN.The problem I have is when you touch the icon on a layer other than the top layer the top layer icon shows on the screen (ontop of the popup).

Now this popup1 again opens a new popup(lets call it popup2). When I close the popup2, I need pass an Object to popup1. Which is the easiest way to do that?

I'm looking to create a flash based popup window when a button is pressed within the flash movie. Not a javascript based html window or html browser window, but a window that is in the flash movie that is entirely flash based. I looked all over the internet and can't seem to find anything on this, and can't find anything on this board either. I am new to flash and actionscripting in general. I would also like to use the Tweener external class, or the flash tween class would work too.

i am using jquery based facebox popup. My ad platform is Doubleclick. Some flash ad comes over the popup. I am loading the ad's js code in a iframe.I tried passing wmode=transparent to as a parameter to the js ad code i did help for some flash ads but to some ads it's not taking wmode=transprent. I even tried to increase z-index of facebox but that too didn't help. What can i do .I dont think so this could be a double clik specfic problem( i know its where i have to look for help) but a flash of other site over my text/content issue

My Flex application is required to load a SWF file externally. This SWF file has a popup. How could I ensure the popup is at the middle of my Flex application and modal?
Edit: The popup component is owned by SWF file (through a "Show more" button) and is not just an Alert. The SWF file is provided by third party. Any update on the SWF file and its popup component do not require re-compilation.
