I'm having a problem with flash that every time I load my website flash flash plays an automatic preloader (three black cricles flashing) that stays on top of my preloader and I was wondering if there is any way of disabiling it.
View 1 RepliesI installed CS5 and opened an old .fla which did not embed the Arial font because everyone has it already. Mostly it is used for user-entered and dynamic content.However, CS5 is auto-embedding the few characters I use in Arial, and all of the other characters are no longer showing up in the swf file.The only fix seems to be embedding the entire Arial font in the movie, which is too large since I want to be able to support all kinds of characters.Is there a way to turn off auto-font embedding?This feature seems well-intentioned but critically flawed if it can't be turned off.

I have a Sprite and an image added to this sprite as a child of it.
Whenever I'm changing the size of the parent Sprite, the image is stretched with the Sprite.
Is there any way to disable this automatic scaling of the children?

But after that, if data values are changed in any row of datagrid, sorting is applied automatically. How to prevent from this behaviour? i.e. sorting should only be applied if user clicks on any header of datagrid and sorting should not be applied when user modifies data in grid.

View 1 RepliesThe company i am working for are designing an interactive flash movie that requires the Right click Menu to be entirely disable, or else the right click option to be disabled. The best that we can achieve at present is to limit the context menu to "About..." and "Settings".
Is there anyway of disabling the right click function in flash so we can secure our movie?
Our problem arises from the User being able to click on the "About..." menu item and launching a browser. We require that the user is not allowed to access this. We have tried to change the Default Browser in Windows to a custom browser, but to no joy.
Is there anyway for us to disable the Flash Menu, or, Disable the Right click function completely or, re-route the About Menu item to a default browser so we can prohibit the user from access the default webpage?

View 4 RepliesI have several layers of scrolling BGs via action script. In between these layers are a set of simple buttons made via "button" symbols. Within the stage, the buttons are recognized, however, when I test the movie, the buttons are not recognized/activated by the cursor. My guess is that the scrolling BGs that are on top of everything else (NOT added via "addChild" in a blank movie clip below all other layers) are somehow "blocking" my cursor from reading the simple buttons "below" them.
For the visual aspect of the project, the scrolling BGs are needed both "below" and "above" the buttons, so I need a work-around for simple button use in this multi-level scrolling BG environment. (just to clarify, by "above" and "below" I dont mean vertically above and below, but rather "layered" above and below, so as to "cover" eachother).
I have a site with 908 buttons. Basically a person clicks a button, makes a donation (through paypal) and then that button gets their name displayed when the mouse hovers over it. Essentially the button becomes the property of the person who makes the donation. how to disable each button when someone clicks it. Disabling a button isn't the problem. I need it disabled only when the person has made a valid donation. Each button has a unique instance name (b001 - b908). There must be a way.

My file is a map that starts as a movieclip with buttons in level0. There is another movieclip/button that when clicked loads a detail map on top into level1. I would like to have some new buttons in the level1 movie clip but the buttons in level0 are still active and it's confusing to the user. As a workaround, I've created an invisible button covering the entire detail map that doesn't do anything other than change the cursor to the pointing finger.

problems..
1. My site loads before the preloader has completed. Click Image to view it.
