I need to create a flv file that change automaticaly his dimension if I modify the dimension of the window of the browser. Is that possible? which is the right way to do this? Is there a tutorial?
View 1 RepliesI'm currently working on a website design. The idea is a big chromakeyed interactive video in Flash. The size of the video is 1080 (width) x 1500 (height) pixels.I've exported the video in After Effects with the standard settings for flash (File>Export>Adobe Flash Player(SWF)). Now when I import the video in Flash and preview the file, the video plays in a slower speed and it's not playing smooth at all...Is the video too big? Is there a maximum video-size to keep the video running correct in Flash? Is it something else that causes this problem..?

Video encoded at 1280x960 and displayed at this size will look better than video encoded at 448x336 and enlarged to 1280x960; andThere will be minimal difference between video encoded at 1280x960 (and shrunk to 448x336) and video encoded at 448x336.
On my homepage I want a video and when the video has ended, the user gets redirected to the next page. So far I've got my video in flv format, imported it into Flash CS4 and the added video control thing. I've then exported the movie and imported it into Dreamweaver CS3. I can get it working on my website.

Video framesize is very small compared to the stage size. When i tried to add video and resize the video acoording to the page size , it slows the browser. I tried to embed the flv inside an swf and loaded the swf using normal loader and plyed it.. but the quallity and performance comapred to these site is very low..

Mostly it is used for user-entered and dynamic content.However, CS5 is auto-embedding the few characters I use in Arial, and all of the other characters are no longer showing up in the swf file.The only fix seems to be embedding the entire Arial font in the movie, which is too large since I want to be able to support all kinds of characters.Is there a way to turn off auto-font embedding?This feature seems well-intentioned but critically flawed if it can't be turned off.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to build a flash that auto-adjust its size to the browser window size, while leaving the content of the flash itself top-centered in the screen.I have found this solution [URL].. on How to keep centered stuff in this exact case so i am pretty confident i will be able to adjust that script to do what i want.
Now my problem is that if i put my content inside the movie-clip (centerrectangle) with all the animation require, link and other stuff, the movieclip (center rectangle ) never have the exact same center, thus making the script go wild trying to always adjust the location to the variable size of the movie clip.

I've tried to include a button which writes out the value of these properties when I click it, and the properties seem to always be set. The problem is that I need to know when I can be sure that the size is available. Is there some event I can catch or something?
I have created a video using ScreenCorder: The canvass size is 1440 x 900 pixels for the video file I have imported this video in Flash.
The canvass size for my flash is 550 x 400. When I import the video to the canvass I have to shrink the video so it fits onto the stage however when i do this you can no longer so the quality of the video.
For example I want to keep my Flash canvass to 550 x 400 as I have done a lot of work on Flash and don't want things to move.
I want the video to play at a good quality how do I do this?
I have a Video object that i set like below

The size dimensions are perfect in Mozilla when i run the application but in IE the width of the video object expands a further 100 pixels why is this?
EDIT: Even when i set the width 100 pixels the width size remains at 320 pixels everytime i run the application in IE
Is there a way to have a video object whatever the camera size is but have it displayed on the screen as a certain size? I cannot get the video object to stay a certain size...even if I put it in a movieclip.

Any advice on how to minimize load time yet retain a relatively high-quality image standard? The h.264 image quality, but there are licensing issues, and we need the transparent alpha channel for the video segments.

All works fine, BUT the video will load and start playing at a small default size then the size info will load after a short delay and then the movie gets resized. This doesn't look to great, so how to i pause the video, then only addChild and resume when i get the size info?
Is it possible in Flex 4's VideoPlayer control (spark.components.VideoPlayer) to detect some attributes of the source video?
In my case, it's a local file. I would need to detect the original width and height of the input source video (an h264 f4v).
There is a simple html page with intro video (.mp4 file). Video frame size is 1280*1024 (I need video to be as large as page up to 1280 px).
With such quality settings video file size is:
.mp4 = 42 mb (HD 1690*1080)
.flv = 32 mb (1280*1024, 25 fps)
For video playing I used as3 sample script (because there must be only playpause, replay, mute buttons with custom styles), like that

The problem is that I can't find a way to play it smoothly. It's loading in very annoying way, video is interrupted after each few seconds of playing.
I understand that the main problem is large video file size and hd quality, but may be there is some way to largely decrease .flv size or handle playback in more friendly way?

I'm building a Flash site that features a three-dimensional interface and I'm facing a significant file size problem, which will mean serious bandwidth problems when the site is online. I don't particularly want to go the route of actually bringing a 3D object into Flash, mainly because my object features transparency (it's made from glass) and papervision3d confuses me to no end. So I have two options: import as video or import as image sequence.
So I went with the image sequence idea. It was easy for me to give the viewer the ability to scrub back and forth through the looped animation and click on certain things at certain times (using invisible buttons). This gives the appearance the viewer is in a three-dimensional word, albeit on a fixed path backwards and forwards, much like a roller coaster
There's also an array of buttons down the bottom of the website that you can click on, and it will play through the image sequence (either in forward or reverse). So that works great, but even with high compression of jpegs and a low 12 fps, the swf file will be somewhere between 10 and 30mb, which is quite ridiculous!
Possible solutions include reducing the amount of images I use in the sequence, squishing it down to half the amount of images. Reducing the size of the images down to something smaller, like 800 x 600. But do you think I would get better results if I can import this as a movie instead and try to control the movie? Can I have the same control if it's an actual video file and not an image sequence?
