Feb 2, 2010I have continued to find a resolution and have had no luck. My website has 5 flash buttons (tabs) to take you to a new html page. Each time you go to a page the button seems to have to re-load creating a "white blinking" inside the cell. The background of the fla file is black and I have the table cell background set to black hoping thatbut to no avail. I thought once a swf is loaded it won't have to re-load. The swf files are the same on all pages

Feb 9, 2010I have a FLVplayer that has multiple films linking to it. There are also categories of films that can change, without disturbing the previous video from playing. This will be on the 'portfolio' page of my website. I then want to have links on the homepage to play certain videos.How can I set up an HTML link to a SWF on a different HTML page, linking to a certain frame (category) and loading the correct video in the FLVplayer?I have read about flashvars but im not sure if they can load bits inside the swf (ie the video).

Dec 8, 2011I'm having trouble linking buttons from a swf banner that will be on all html pages. I'm using the following script, which doesn't work yet.For now, I have only two buttons. Button btn_1 should go to page_1.html, which is in a folder labeled pages.I've tried the variable name and the navigate to URL and neither have worked.

Jan 17, 2010I have solved my remote linking from an external html, to specific swf frame problem. But now, as usual another problem has reared its ugly head. I have a button(s) with a spotlight animation effect in the "over state". It works fine on the "home" page, smooth and clean, but when you link to a frame in the timeline, once in that frame the spotlight effect stills shows up when mouseover, but becomes erratic and very jittery.[URL].. Once there, if you click on about, events, or news, and load any of those pages/frames, you should see the spotlight flicker on mouseover on all buttons

Oct 28, 2010I have a sprite menu which populates a dynamic textfield with textlabels as users click individual items in the menu in addition to ordinary actions(gotoAndStop). As these labels appear in the textfield, I want to be able to link them to the frames assosciated with the menu - item frames. As you can understand from this, I am working with the timeline. By enabling html rendering of text in the textfield, I have been able to link these output labels via a a href - tag, but I am not able to call a function from this html. The function I am trying to call uses a switch statement to take the appropriate actions according to which label is being clicked, but the only effect I get is the html opening a browser window...... Unfortunately I do not know how to explain this any better, but here is my code for the following:

Jan 23, 2011What I'm looking to do is create a banner that transitions between different photos while there are small square buttons on the side that when the user clicks on them, it jumps to the corrosponding frame where a new photo begins showing. I've seen it a bunch of times on other websites.After following the advice found here: http:[url]....Everything was going well until I hit a snag. When trying to preview my movie I got the following error:1021: Duplicate function definition
Now, I know there is a very obvious error here in my button scripts, but as I said, I have no idea what I'm doing. Can someone look at my code and tell me what's wrong and what I should change? I'll post all five scripts.The instance names by the way are "sidebutton1" thru "sidebutton5" if that's any help.Here's my codes for each of the five buttons (one of these code bits per button)

Professional :: Multiple Buttons Which Load External Swf Files?
Apr 11, 2010I have a drop down menu whereby the clicking of a button causes it to move to a specific keyframe in the timeline. I also have multiple buttons which load external swf files.The problem is when i navigate to the drop down menu the loaded external files keep dissapering because they are not on the keyframe where the drop down menu is actuated. Is there any way of coding it so that which ever swf file is loaded remains there whilst the drop down menu moves to its specific stage in the timeline?

In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. Html :: Styling HTML Links Within A Flash File Without Using An External CSS File?
Mar 6, 2011I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.

Jul 13, 2009why the buttons in the flash banner I created in Flash CS4 work when I preview it in either Flash or HTML in the Flash CS4 program, but when I go to load it into a html document in Dreamweaver CS4 and preview it in a firefox or IE browser, the banner comes up fine, but the buttons this time will not work. The buttons are displayed with there animation and sound, but the links will not work. I have tried scripts in AS2 and AS3.

That part works fine, but it always loads the page into a new window. How do I make it load into the same window? I could do this in AS2 with getURL and using _self. Here is what I have:

Jan 18, 2010I have created a webpage with a html menu and flash embedded underneath it.The problem is, the flash movie is in an index layer of -1 and the html menu needs to sit above it in index 1 for example.If the menu sits behind the flash the buttons are inactive, if the flash sits behind the html menu, its buttons are inactive.I have a div layer for the html menu and it not as high as the flash movie, but it doesn't make a difference, its seen as sitting behind and therefore the buttons don't work.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Continuous Auto Scrolling HTML W/o Buttons And Scroll Bar?
Aug 18, 2010I know ZERO about flash/actionscript and have been tasked with creating a vertical text/html scroller. This would act like a news ticker but would scroll several paragraphs of text with images vertically continuously.
Here is a sample of the data that i would like to scroll vertically:

some text here
some more text

more text
more text
This pattern would repeat and the script would continuously scroll the information. I will be pulling that data from XML as HTML but i think i have that part under control. Just cant seem to get a sample of scrolling html/text.

Feb 22, 2010how to call a flash function from an HTML page. The idea is to have a link on my page (HTML link) that once clicked displays a movieclip in flash. I know i have to use the asfunction in HTML. So far I have just created my swf file with a function called showInfo. I've embedded the flash into an HTML page. I have then added a link on the HTML page as follows:
<a href="asfunction:showInfo">Link name</a> but when I click it says: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (asfunction) isn't associated with any program."
is there a piece of code I need to write in flash for this to work?
