I made a Flash 8 movie (Swf) that is 212kb in size. I could reduce the size of my .Swf by compressing its pictures. I did so, reducing the pictures inside it from 518kb to 183kb with Irfanview but when I import them into my movie/library and save it there is NO difference in size - it stays on 212kb.

I found this really neat photo gallery on flashkit but there is no support or readme included. how to size this thing.. the AS code does have comments but I am not a coder.I'd like to make the image window smaller and the overall movie smaller. 325x325 or so
View 10 RepliesI created a stage size 960 by 640, than i create a movieclip exactly the same size as the stage, but when i double click to get into the movieclip everything get smaller an object with 960 by 640 has reduce to 184by 140??? How do I get it back to the original size?

The thing is that i want the swf to be shown at a smaller size (500X333 instead of 900X600 ).
The problem is that when i change width&height, the swf gets cut-off instead of show shrinking it.
I tried playing with the params, but couldn't get it to work.
I don't think it matters but it's a swf of a flex project.
would like to make 3 versions of the same site, and then have them redirected depending on the user's monitor resolution. Because of this, I need to make some of the movie clips smaller, and some bigger. What is the best way to do this. Some of the movie clips contain text.

I put a URL into my swf and tested it in Flash works fine it takes me to the webpage i want to be. I used the following script.

But when i put the movie onto my site via html it shows on my site but there is no link; it doesn't click to go to another site, nothing. This is my html code.

I am playing an swf on a VB.net form which works fine but I've added an FLV to another layer in the same swf and when I run it, the FLV doesn't appear. If I run the swf by itself the FLV appears. I've tried using the FLVPlayback component and tried coding the FLV with AS3, both work when I run the SWF by itself but the FLV still doesn't appear when run in VB.
View 3 RepliesI've created an app in Flash Professional CS5.5 and when I install it on iTunes, I see the icon in the list, and when I sync the iPad, it even comes up on the iPad 'pages' in iTunes, however doesn't show up in the actual iPad.

When I compress this down and reduce the quality to about 50 it only gets me down to 50kb. Still over. I've tried converting it to a vector and a few other things but no luck.how I can get this as small as possible while preserving the blank background?

I have tried googling everything i possibly could to help me, ive checked everywhere for some or other little setting but have found nothing. My problem is that when i try clicking on anything inside my flash documents when they are in dreamweaver or on the web, they do not respond. It cant read my mouse clicks.
View 1 RepliesFor this website I've put a preloader on the 1st frame and the site on the 2nd.I've tested the site after having created a small animation which makes appear the main menu, a logo and an image.Everything did work good, so I went on building the site.Now that I have created some pages I've tested again the whole site and the preloader doesn't work anymore.Testing the site on the "ctrl+enter" window and simulating the download I have a white background (both the preloader and website background are yellow) then I see the preloader for a fraction of second and suddenly the site appears.
Publishing the site on my web space the background is correctly yellow, but the preloader doesn't appear, the browser's loading bar stops at half then the preloader appears again for a fraction of seconds and suddenly the site appears (tested on Firefox, IE, Opera, Chrome and Safari, same behaviour with all of them).It looks that the preloader is become part of the site and that there is an invisibile preloader.The setting in: Publish settings -> Flash -> Script Settings -> Library Path -> Default Linkageis set to "Merged into code"the same happen if I set "Runtime Shared Library" and "Custom Preloader Loop".
I am using a flash template that includes a menu bar. However, after I changed the names of the tabs in the menu bar, none of the words show up. Everything else loads correctly (sound, logo, images), but no words on the menu bar. I see them on the actual project, but not when I debug the movie. Where did my words go?

So I have been working on a flash-based Website using ActionScript 2.0. I have been able to export it fine up until about a day ago. The file is only 4,330KB and when exporting as a SWF it will export about halfway and then it stops with no error or exported file. I exported it as an AVI, but since it's interactive it doesn't help. I've tried exporting it for Quicktime and the same thing happens.

I'm trying to use Edit --> Find and Replace in Flash CS3 to replace a line of code that occurs in many frame scripts throughout the FLA, but when I click "Replace All", it says "No items found". I'm sure everything is set up correctly in the Find and Replace window:Search in: Current Document, for: Text, and I'm sure I'm typing everything correctly. I have "Frames/Layers/Parameters" and "Actionscript" checked below, and everything else unchecked.

Actually it is only text so nothing difficult. The result I get is something I had before, only bolt text parts or only the grey letters and not the colered letters...Iam using version 10.
View 4 RepliesI produced an ActionScript 3.0, Flash Player 10 swf in a newly downloaded CS5 (trial version). The file loads fine in both Chrome and Safari on my computer. But when I open it on another machine I only get five animated dots - ..... - in a "wait while loading" manner. The swf never starts. Same on my brother's computer.
My browser has Flash Player 10,1,52,14 installed along with CS5 (swf works). My other computer claims to have Flash Player 10,1,53,38 installed (swf doesn't work). My brother's computer has Flash Player 10,0,45,2 (swf doesn't work).I've tried various publish configs such as on/off xml meta data, on/off hidden layers, embed minimal or more of my font etc.When I configure for ActionScript 2.0 and/or Flash Player 9 my animation breaks totally.
I have a 3,5 MB .swf file on my webpage it works perfectly well in firefox. But in internet explorer it doesnt seem to play. My guess is that IE uploads the whole .swf file before playing it. Can anyone here tell me how to let it work in IE as well?
View 6 RepliesI just installed CS5 Web Premium and took a movie, imported and exported with skin and html. [URL] It doesn't play, there is no skin. Everything is in the root directory - the SkinOverAll.swf, RooftopRites.swf. I don't see an embed statement in the HTML. Shouldn't there be one?
View 19 RepliesI have a very simple videoplayer, made much like the reference instructs with netstream and netconnection etc. It used a ordinary http stream (progressive download) I works, but sometimes when I pause the stream for a while and resume, it doesnt resume. I use stream.pause() and stream.resume(). Most of the time it works, but sometimes it doesn't. It's like the connection is being lost. Have anybody here tried the same, or does anyone know a way to tjek if the connection have been lost?
View 2 RepliesI've made a file in photoshop with layer. I brought it into flash. I created the movie and it plays but when I want to use the "test movie" feat. it does nothing. The graphics come up but no movement. I exported it as an .swf file but still no luck.
View 8 RepliesI have made a simple animation using only the timeline. The animation is covered by a button "Knapp" (alpha 0) wich activates the actions. The whole thing works fine the first time. The last action says go to and play frame 2, wich has two actions: stop + go to and play frame 4. But this action does not work the second time. I tried to set the action to frame 3 instead of 2 and the same problem occured on another action on the timeline as well.
Here is the last action on my timeline:
