I have a flash website at [URL] which, for some reason, has problems showing all of the text when viewed under Windows 7 (any browser). Under the experience tab, the text below should appear at the very bottom. It does not.

I have a test field that I've created dynamically. If I add text to it by writing: myField.text = "some text" the text appears, but if I add text using a variable I don't see anything. If I trace the text field's text trace("text = " myField.text) I get the right value.

I am trying to find all available API's that are available in the flash ocx. I am unable to find any documentation for the functions in the IShockwaveFlash interface.I know that Adobe doesn't have a documentation for using flash in VC++ but I was wondering if anyone can point me to a place where I can find an UNOFFICIAL documentation for flash.ocx or code samples as the only API that I could find and I'm currently using is "PutMovie".

View 1 RepliesI've tried the chromeless script from chromeless.org but it doesn't work in windows XP SP1 and SP2. I need a pop up full screen window as I've designed the whole site with the full screen in mind and if I can't get a pop up, I got to redo everything!! I redid it twice and I'm not going to try the third!! OMG!! Anyone has alternative solutions for this? Or anyone has another version of the chromeless script that works with SP1 and SP2?

View 6 RepliesI double-clicked on a bitmap-item in the library and instead of opening the properties-windows where you can change compression, import and so on, the focus changed to a random explorer window and flash got "locked". Flash probably thought that it actually opened a new sub-window and waited for it being closed, but there was no such window! Seems like the open-procedure failed and the next window to focus on was just an explorer window. Closing this one didn't get the focus back to flash. What a luck, I could still save the file using ctrl-s but couldn't get back to the application. So I had to kill Flash with the task-manager.
View 1 RepliesI used to have a little text panel (that sat with the color, swatches, and align panels) that I was able to open up and edit text size, color, underline, etc with. It had a much better text editing ability then the properties panel, seeing as the properties panel does not even bother to allow me to underline text or to highlight and edit a single word in a whole text box. Now I don't have it, I can't find the damn thing anywhere, and I want it back. How can I get it?

I'm trying to create a simple swf file containing an m4v file along with default player controls. I want to add this to a Web page. I've successfully generated such a file, and using the HTML generated by the publish option, I've gotten it to play on IE, FF, Chrome, and Opera under Windows 7. When I try to open the same Web page from the same location on my Mac, however, I see the player controls with an green animation that indicates loading. The movie itself never loads. I've tried this under Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on Mac, all with the same result. I've also had friends try this on other Macs, with the same result. Is there some difference in how Windows and OS X deal with SWF files that I need to account for?

And haven't been able to view any webpage using IE9.0.8112.16421 without all adverst or video screens flashing on and off. I can't make them go away. Also the video screen stays stuck in the top left corner of the screen, making it impossible to see or use anything under it.I uninstalled the Flash and reinstalled it. Still no joy.I tried to find the older - working perfectly - Flash version but can't find or reinstall it.

I work in the art department of a documentary series and I have a Dell Iinspiron 3200 running Windows 98 (with Flashplayer 9) that I need to use to run animations that I made on a seperate machine running CS5. How should I publish them so that they can be played on the laptop? When I bring the files over, they are recognized as flash applications (the icon is right) but trying to play them results in two errors: "(directory) file expects a newer version of windows. Upgrade your Windows version" and "(directory) a device attached to the system is not functioning" I have tried publishing as version 9, but the fies still won't run, and examining the properties of them reveals a file version of 10.1.

I am using Windows 7 Professional and Flash CS4. I installed the flash player debugger, now I can't get rid of it. It slowed Flash down to a crawl. I ran the uninstall_flash_player found on this site. No effect. Flash is still really slow and still shows a ton of information in the output screen when I compile.

When i launch it, the register screen appears(the one that tells the trial time left) but the flash main window always stays black (or white)and is not responding. I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.
