I brought my son a mini laptop for xmas that runs Windows CE , some of the websites he wants to go onto require "flash" , but when I try to install flash laptop says its not a valid Windows CE file.
Is it right that I need to install "flash lite" if so what version and where can I obtain it as I cant find download link on this site. If not is there any other way I can get these websites to work.
I am trying to deactivate Flash CS3 on my laptop so that I can install and use it it on my desktop machine. All I can find on this subject is the instruction to select "deactivate" from the "help" menu - but the help menu in my version of Flash CS3 doesn'tcontain this option. Is there another way to deactivate Flash?

Will there be any issue with Flash running off a laptop form a different country it was developed on? We just want to be able to open the html page and have everything running locally off the laptop. The application was made in USA and the laptops it will be running off of are from The Netherlands.
View 2 RepliesI've put together a little flash activity for my educational website, and although it works perfectly on my PC (I also zipped it up and passed it onto my laptop, where it also works perfectly), when I try to open it after uploading it to the website, all it shows is the background.

Why can't I watch youtube videos on my laptop? It's brand new. I can go to the website and the video loads just fine. It starts to play but then shortly after it quits. The monitor flickers and then goes black. I don't think it's the Adobe Flash player.

I've recently picked up the opportunity to develop a simple little application for a company that makes cupcake wedding cakes. They want to be able to take a laptop to a client and sit with them to design the look of the cakes - colour, topping, etc. End result is a saved written preference, along with an image of their design. I've assumed Flash is the best bet for something like this. Although I've dabbled in Flash and have experience in coding, I've yet to pick it up fully. The version I have is Flash MX. I've assumed I could create a movieclip representing a single cake, that is then replicated over the stack of cakes? A simple set of options on a side panel would let the user pick colour, amount, etc. Firstly, will Flash (MX) let me save out a 'screengrab' of the movie as something that could then be saved to, say, a JPG? And I assume that writing the variable choices to something like a text file would be no problem..
View 2 RepliesI just received a new Dell Studio. I have the latest Flash installed. I can view Flash websites fine, and I can watch videos on all sites... except, [URL]. In fact, the video loads and a picture is displayed. The problem is that the picture is badly distorted. See the screenshot below. The top of the image is crystal clear, but the bulk of the video can not be viewed. This is different than the other threads with Flash/NHL problems. I can see something, and hear the videos fine. but... Its as if the video is in digital purgatory.
View 2 RepliesI am looking to build an app that allows end users to draw and save mini animations (simple predetermined shapes that move in 2D). So far I have a written a app that allows the user to draw a single frame using simple shapes and lines, but I am having some small troubles at this stage, and have not attempted to allow the user to animate or save the drawing.
If anyone knows of a tutorial or some other resource to put me on the right path I would be very grateful. I can also share what I have if anyone would be willing to give me some pointers

View 6 RepliesEver since I`ve changed to flash cs4, every windows projector publish I make takes a really long time to open and play an animation.I`ts just very slow. When I created stuff on flash cs3, I had no problems running published projects.
Can anyone help me here? It`s just that I searched for a lot of forum questions just like mine on other web sites and none could . Since your the developers os this product I would like to see what you`ve got to say about this.

And haven't been able to view any webpage using IE9.0.8112.16421 without all adverst or video screens flashing on and off. I can't make them go away. Also the video screen stays stuck in the top left corner of the screen, making it impossible to see or use anything under it.I uninstalled the Flash and reinstalled it. Still no joy.I tried to find the older - working perfectly - Flash version but can't find or reinstall it.

View 7 RepliesI have been creating mini product movies in Flash using sound recordings, key frames, and tweens. This is the 5th in the series, and just NOW I'm having problems.I had my frame rate set to 30fps with one long sound bite, about 2.5 minutes. Everything looked fine on my end, but when I loaded it into a landing page in IE, everything was out of sync, but only on other people's computers. It still looked fine to me.
I compressed the sound file more, which helped some, but did not aleviate the entire problem. I noticed the frame rate when I did a quick preview (just pressed enter) would fluctuate from the 30 fps all the way to 9 fps.I then cut the sound bite up into 13 segments,shortened the tweens, and reduced the frame rate to 18fps. In development and in preview, it looked fine. However, when I put it into the landing page, the animation was way too fast for the sound and the sound bites looped.
ever since i got windows 7, my drawing wacom tablet lags on flash cs4 when i use the pencil tool and i don't know why it's doing that and i cannot see what i'm drawing because of this lag. I have updated my video card and my wacom tablet driver to windows 7 and still no luck. It worked perfectly on vista but i do not want to go back to vista.
View 2 RepliesI am using Windows 7 Professional and Flash CS4. I installed the flash player debugger, now I can't get rid of it. It slowed Flash down to a crawl. I ran the uninstall_flash_player found on this site. No effect. Flash is still really slow and still shows a ton of information in the output screen when I compile.

When i launch it, the register screen appears(the one that tells the trial time left) but the flash main window always stays black (or white)and is not responding. I had it working about one week ago and i can't figure out what is the problem .It tried reinstalling couple of times without succes. I need to autorun these when the CD is inserted.If it were a single .exe and if i wanted to load it in windows machine it would be a piece of cake.But I have 2 files, and I wanna load it from a single CD. However playing flash related content always freezes when in full screen mode. This includes if something is playing or if the movie has ended and the player is staying in full screen mode.I have tried on IE8, Firefox and Safari. View 1 RepliesI'm using CS4 to export a basic flash movie with embed tags pre scripted. And the issue is that on some OS systems using Vista or Windows 7 and IE 8 as a primary browser, it appears that IE 8 is not displaying the flash banner completely.... its CROPPING it off... This is very strange because the banner works fine in FireFox, IE7,Opera,Chrome but not I.E.8 on some OS systems...
If you google "Flash not displaying correctly in IE 8" you'll get alot of people with the same issues but no real definate fix...
what i could try? Do i need different flash embed tags? Or is this a user issue?
I've tried downloading the newest Adobe Flash Player 10 on IE8 on my Windows Vista and it's not working.It downloads but when I go back to hulu.com it says I still have to download the latest version. I've tried unistalling and installing it (several times)... I've made sure that Shockwave is enabled under Internet settings... I've also tried unistalling IE8 and reinstalling without the updates... and still nothing.I even tried installing Flash 10 on IE7, still nothing worked.
I have Windows Vista 32 bit and not terribly computer savvy.Hulu works fine when I use Firefox, but it's not working on IE8. I need it to work on IE8 in order to stream video from hulu on our Wii through PlayOn TV.
I am currently having a problem when launching the trial version of flash cs5.5 . The screen that says the timeleft at my trial comes up but the flash cs5.5 screen stays black and is "not responding". About two weeks ago, it worked, so i don't know what is happening. All my other programs work. I tried to reinstall it, to delete the left flash cs5.5 program files after the uninstall and many other things, but it dosen't work.Here is a screen capture of the flash cs5.5 blackscreen. notice that in the frame of the window it tells" not responding".
View 1 RepliesOk the issue I'm having with flash is that the windows on the right side of my flash window do not snap up when I collapse a window. I am attaching a screen shot to better explain this issue.As you can see I have the color panel collapsed up, when I expand this panel and it goes down everything shifts down. however when I collapse it back up a huge gap is left behind in CS5.5 as is displayed in screen shot number 2. In CS4 I never had this problem. I could expand and collapse panels as I saw fit with no problems what so ever. Everytime now that I expand a panel and collapse it, the library or other panels do not move up with the collapsing. This causes a workspace issue. and forces me to drag up the library via the black line that is just above it but below the align panel so that I have better access to my library or properties panel for when I'm working. I find this highly annoying and would like it if there could be a fix produced to make it so this collapsing issue can be fixed and I don't have to waste time dragging up the library/properties panel everytime I need to access stuff in my library when I have a huge list of graphics I'm going through.
