View 1 RepliesI am currently trying to create a multiple choice quiz. Alright, what I want to do is this - I want to create a multiple choice like this, where user click the answer and they will be linked to a feedback page, telling them what is wrong with their answer. Then they can click an "OK" button to proceed to the next scene where there will be the next qns. The reason why I am not putting all in the same scene is because I need to do up a different scenario for each of the qns.
If I were to have ten qns in one scene, I was told it is "no good" by my lecturer. At the end of the ten qns, there will be a grading of points. I want the script to be able to track all correct answers despite all qns being on different scenes. Because I want the grade to show at the evaluation scene. is it possible to capture the answer user has clicked on, store to the array, store in another array as one point if it is a correct answer and click next to go to the next scene for the 2nd qns, not next frame.
Anyone know where to start thinking about logic for an XML quiz with multiple correct answers, that when the user gets the question right, that question is removed from the random array of questions so we never need to answer it again?
View 0 RepliesFor my project i am creating a quiz on the Romans. There are only three questions that the user must answer with three possible answers in frames 3,4 and 5.I want to know the code that would help me to allow a Jpeg (an evaluation of the answer given on each frame) to be placed on frame 6 ready for the user to receive feedback for each answer they have given. So when the user selects an answer, the corresponding jpeg to that answer is placed ready on frame 6 for their arrival after they have answered the third question.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a simple quiz that picks questions from an XML file, then checks the answer the user enters against the answers stored in the same XML file. Every time you press blue_btn it should bring up a new question. Right now I'm stuck -- it shows only the last question in the XML file, when I enter the right answer it tells me it's wrong, and when I press blue_btn again nothing happens.

I have this project where I have a quiz template that I am using(as2) and I have everything exactly the way I want it except.that I need for the individual questions to hold a different value from one another.
for example
Question 1 = 10 points
Question 2 = 20 points
so on and so forth
right now I have it so they are an equal percentage of the total (ie 10 questions all are worth 10 points)and I need to change thatunfortunately I am still teaching myself AS but even more unfortunate for me is that I am learning AS3 and this template is AS2 I also have not done much in this vein I have been concentrating more on UI kind of stuff and less on the math side also it makes no difference to me if this is done in AS or XML this file will not be continually updated so it can be a one time deal
I need to put together a really simple flash Quiz for this project I am working on
and I am having a hell of a time figuring out a few key aspects.
1. When working with an array and an xml file, how can I assign the "correct" answer if a user selected the wrong option. Ideally I would love it to say for example " sorry, Egyptians was the correct answer" but would settle for " sorry, 3 was the correct answer" if that is easier to arrange within an array.
2. How can I make it so it marks your first answer and only your first answer (as opposed to how it is now where if you guessed wrong you can keep on guessing until it is right and it will notice the right answer and ignore the wrong)?

I am making a quiz what I want to do is: when the user types in the correct answer a tick appears and when they type in a wrong answer a cross appears I want this to happen on a single frame. How to make these type in boxes and how to make the above stuff happen.
View 1 RepliesI have an xml doc that has 6 categories that are colors and 4 questions that fall under each category. My question is I'm trying to create a quiz that will grab a question/answers based on a variable between 1-6 from the (6) categories in the xml doc. But the kicker is I want the user to have to choose from a different category if the 1-6 variables are different. And I need to walk down and grab a different question if they have been to blue before or maybe just a random question from the blue or green section.

I've got an input field called "question" where you can type whatever you want, an ASK button called "ask" and a response field called "answer". Once you enter a question and hit the ASK button I want flash to randomly reply in the "answer" field with YES, NO, MAYBE, DEFINATELY etc.
Do I need some kind of answers array to store all the answers and then call them at random into the "answers" field? Am I on the right track?
I'm using CS4 and trying to create a new quiz using one of the templates.I can see how to edit it to get only Multiple Choice but I'm stuck at one thing - I can't see where to specify which choice is the correct one.

View 1 RepliesHow do you make a variable have multiple answers attached to it?
example:
workPages = page2_mc, page5_mc, page6_mc, page7_mc
I tried this but it only used page2_mc and an array didn't work.
I have a drag & drop activity where 3 of the drags can go into 1 of 3 possible dropzones and be counted as correct. On clicking 'Submit', if only some are placed correctly, there's a 'Show me' option - this is the bit I can't do:if some of those with more than 1 possible answer are correct, I don't know how to check which dropzones are free to place the remainder in. My code for the first bit, checking the hitTest is ok:
for (var i:Number = 0; i<aLabels.length; i++) {
//3 drag items have 3 poss dropzones:
for (var t:Number = 0; t<aNewCorrectDZ[i].length; t++) {
//IF ITEM IS DROPPED ON ANY DROPZONE:

I have made a quiz from mixing and matching from various tutorials of the internet, and now want to make the questions (multiple choice) and possibly the answers appear shuffled. The xml looks like this:
<quiz>
<title>Quiz</title>
<items>
<item>
<question>In which continent is the country Japan located?</question>
<answer correct="y">Asia</answer>
<answer>Europe</answer>
<answer>Africa</answer>
<answer>America</answer>
</item>
and here is what I've got so far with the actionscript!
I am trying to develop a maths quiz where I need to generate a random number, I then need to generate another random number but this needs to be a multiple of the first number. I just can't work out how I can generate a multiple of the first number.
View 2 RepliesI ve got a drag and drop code working, but what I really want to do is have a check answers button that tells the user, you have none correct, or two correct or all wrong... I have one target area, and 3 correct answers (out of 7) so I would like to let the user put as many ansers on the target as they want and then check if they have any correct, also a reset code would be nice to put everything back where it started... I tried to break my code up but the events then went mad, Here is what i have so far, it works instantly and lets crrect answers stay and incorrect bounce back..
stop();
yes1.visible=false;
allcorrect.visible=false;
doit.text="drag over the words that mean Vision";

I'm working on a quiz-style piece right now and in short it's several pages of multi choice questions, each rewarding a certain point amount that is added up at the end and given specific results based on the point range scored. (i.e. 10-20 = good, 21-30 = great... etc)
For code I've stopped here:
if (answercheck == 40 - 52){
trace("Feedback: Range 40 - 52");
form.gotoAndStop(3);
form.AnswerTotal.Number = answercheck;
}
Answercheck is the var with the total points accumulated. Form is the mc with the feedback frames based on their point totals. AnswerTotal is the dynamic text box I'm trying to load the exact point total the user acquired into at the end.
Adobe Flash also lets users make interactive Flash quiz. This tutorial will guide you how to create interactive drop-down multiple-choice quiz in Adobe Flash. This short tutorial is just a sample of the workflow you'll use while authoring in Adobe Flash CS4.
Step 1 - Create a new document
a. Choose File > New.
b. In the New Document dialog box, selcet Flash File (ActionScript 2.0) and then Click OK.
Step 2 - Document settings Right-click on the stage, selcet Document Properties, then the Document Properties dialog box appears. It displays the current Stage size setting as 550*400 pixels, and the Background color swatch is set to white. You can change the size and color of the Stage as you want.
Step 3 - Import image to the stage Choose File > Import > Import to Stage, and then select the image you want. You also could click Ctrl+R to import image.
Step 4 - Add the multiple choice question to the Stage
a. Select the Text tool (T).
b. In the Property inspector (Window > Properties), select Static Text type to specify the type of text field, and then input the question " What was Michael's first song to air on MTV? ". You also could set the font size, family and color of the text.
Step 5 - Add ComboBox component
a. Select Window > Components.
b. Double-click ComboBox in the Components panel.
c. Select the component on the Stage, and name the instance name as box in the properties panel.
Step 6 - Add answer options
a. Select Window > Component Inspector. On the Component Inspector, click data, then the Value dialog box appears.
b. Click + to add answer options, and then replace the defaultValue as answer options, here the options are: thriller, billie jean, bad and the way you make me feel. After that, click OK.
c. On the Component Inspector, click labels, then the Value dialog box appears. Please following the same steps above to add the values by adding the + button.

If that's too complicate to you, you could choose some 3rd party quiz makers to make multiple choice quiz for you. Wondershare QuizCreator is such a good Flash quiz maker that help you create multiple Flash quiz with ease.
Using Flash CS3, having issues getting flash to send quiz results to a LMS. Using the Flash quiz templates, exporting with SCORM 1.2 compliance. The LMS is able to track times attempted and if the lesson was complete or not, however the quiz results don't reach the LMS.
I think this can be resolved in the actionscript or the javascript that gets exported with the HTML file Apparently you can control the javascript functions with FScommands from actionscript Something like fscommand ("LMSSetValue","cmi.core.score.raw" + "," + integer); I don't know where in the actionscript this should be triggered from.
The random motion tutorial works just perfectly with one movieclip, but when I try to make a new movie clip and assign the same code to it, it really doesn't duplicate at all. The original movieclip has an instance name of dot so I created a new movieclip with instance name of dottwo.But for some reasob the following code doesn't duplicate the dottwo at all
i = 0;
while (i<25) {
dot.duplicateMovieClip("dot"+i, i);

I had an existing client ask me about the possibility of building an online quiz. I am fairly adept at working "inside" Flash, but always run into problems when trying to export data "from" Flash anywhere else. I am also trying to figure out if Flash is the best application to build this quiz (I see other possible apps like Captivate, but don't know if they are necessary for what I am trying to do).
What I need to do:
I need to create a Login screen to attach the final text score to an individual.
Create (50) separate screens for 50 questions with multiple answers for each (simple enough) with submit buttons once the answer(s) are chosen.
Each time an answer is submitted it has a certain "weight" toward the total score (which I am guessing that I could track into a variable inside Flash?) When the test is complete all I need to do is send that Person's Name/Total Score to a database. Is this something best accomplished using Flash?
I'm having some resizing/full-screen difficulty with loading an external quiz swf into a video player swf. What's happening is that, when the quiz swf is first loaded into the video player, the size of the loaded swf has the correct dimensions and aspect ratio. That part is fine, but as soon as I try to fullscreen or resize the video player (using listeners with stage dimensions) the external quiz swf changes dimensions on me and looks vertically squished and smaller.
I've talked to other people about this issue, and they're telling me that this issue is occuring because the quiz swf contains elements outside of the stage. These hidden elements are supposedly giving the video player "incorrect" dimensions. Is this really the case? Is there any other solution other than fitting any hidden elements within the quiz swf within the stage? And if this is the only solution, then why on initial load does the quiz swf show up properly?
i want to know how do i make multiple images fade using same technique
View 3 RepliesI am trying to create a quiz in Adobe Flash CS3 using Drag and Drop Feature. I have created similar Drag items and I want to drag the item and place it into any target. For Ex. I want Drag1, Drag2, Drag3, Drag4, Drag5 should go to any target from Target1, Target2, Target3, Target4, Target5. The objects on Drag1 through Drag5 is similar like I am working on number system. So I want the Drag boxes to go to any place values into the target boxes. But the drag and target instance names should be unique and should be mentioned in the component inspector also.
View 3 RepliesI tried to create some, such as "Drag and Drop" or "True and False." However, the instructions weren't adequate. I couldn't figure out what Adobe was telling me to do. I went online to Adobe, and tried to find tutorials.It seems, to me, that there Quiz Learning Interactions are included only in the version of Flash CS5 that comes with the e-Learning suite.
View 27 RepliesI sent an email to pom regarding a tutorial that he wrote, but the email was bounced and he hasn't replied to my PM. I have followed both of pom's tutorials that involve experiments with perspective in Flash, but I have encountered a problem while attempting to duplicate a movie clip symbol in the second tutorial ([URL]). I have a single instance of the "ball" movie clip symbol appearing at random positions. However, I cannot seem to successfully duplicate the symbol instance at random positions using the loop that pom provided:
