Professional :: Embed .mov File In .swf File?

I imported a .mov file into a .swf file and it works great. Then I embedded the .swf file into a web page. Again, it seemed to work fine--at least works fine when I open it in a browser locally. However, after I upload everything to the server, the .swf file seems to be okay, but the embedded video no longer works. I triple checked that all of the links are correct, all of the files are uploaded (including the embedded video) but nothing works.

Is it possible to embed the flv file in to the flash like other files(images, swf), so that i can handle this in as3 as programmaticaly in the same way as FLVPlayback component? I know the way to add flv file by creating FLVPlayback component. But in this case we always need to depend on the source path of corresponding file. I am not able to find any kind of solution for this. As second way I have imported flv file to the library and created the instance of this but there is some problem with the synchronization of audio with video.Also in this case I am not able to handle this flv in as3 as programmatically

Is there a way when using Actionscript 3 to embed the video player skin into my document so that when I publish it, everything I need to launch the file onto a website is in one swf? When I publish it as it is now, 2 swfs appear, one for my file and one for the video player skin. Can I embed the video player skin so this doesn't happen and I only have to upload the one swf to my website?

We're currently developing a small Flash application to display our company's capabilties. This application will be stored on a small USB thumb drive that we give to our potential clients. When the thumb drive is accessed, users will see two folders "Media" and "Other"; and an SWF file entitled "Start." There is; however, one more file that displays: the interface/skin file that we used for our FLV videos (entitled "SkinUnderPlaySeekStop.swf"). If this file is not included in the same location as the main SWF file, the interface/skin will not display on the video.
We would like only the two folders and the main SWF file to be displayed on the root of the thumb drive. Is there anyway to move the interface/skin file into another folder (for example, the "Other" folder) and call it up from that location within the original FLA file?

I can use flash ok to build stuff, but I usually just build a flash presentation with movieclips and buttons all contained in the one file. I have never had to put my creations onto cd-rom before. So now I am looking at a CD-rom and seeing how someone else has done it and I see that all the .swf files are separated, as will as sound and video. I thought the only reason to do this would be to be able to access and change for example and mp3. without having to open the flash file, but I am thinking there are other reasons?

Let me give the context first. A user opens a local html file which has a reference to a network url of an swf file to embed.
(1) If the embed swf requests a local image file , will Flash allow the request?
(
2) If the embed swf requests an image file on a non local url other than one of the swf file, will Flash check a crossdomain.xml file on the url?

I have this swf file, i don't have the .fla file for it. I need it to be able to play in my current .fla file when called upon. I also really need it to be embedded. Don't ask me why, but the client wants only one swf file, and if i load the swf in as an external file the program they use, will not be able to display this loaded swf file. My flash file works perfectly when i load it in as external and put it into a movieclip, but that's just not what my client wants.So i was thinking of embedding it, i don't know if i'm thinking of this in the wrong way, and maybe you all have some suggestions for me. I don't know how to embed it. i'm using flash cs3 and ActionScript 3. I tried importing it straight to my library and to my stage, but i end up with just a couple of graphic images that don't work at all. I've tried everything i know of, read all threats i could find about it, but it seems embedding is impossible or just not done. what could i do to fix this?

Making a piano/keyboard application and trying to figure out the best way to set this up .I plan on having a directory of sounds for each 'instrument' in my assets folder (piano1/C4.mp3,piano1/D4.mpg,...)Is there a way to import/embed all of these as an array? Also is there a way I can pass a variable to this class to indicate which folder I want to import these from? Something that would be ideal

I am trying to embed a swf file into another swf file in order to learn how to make a complete flash site but am having a little trouble doing it. I successfully used the loadmovie file to embed another swf file into my original but the effect only last for a minute. After that, if I try to press on the other buttons to embed another swf file, nothing happens. The following is a code I am using for one of the buttons.

I'm writing the following code to embed an swf file into php file.

but I don't know how to access the variable "varurl" that i've added in the second line above. In flash 8 with AS2, I would just use _root.varurl. But it doesn't seem to work in AS3.

Is there any way I can embed HTML in flash? I know I can do this with text boxes but is there any other way I can do it? If not I know theres is the load feature where I can load text from a text file. With the html text box editing, Can i link that to the text file?. As in when you edit the text box with html could i have the textbox's instance name equal to the text file? With this my issue is with the <a href> in one textbox, I would like when i click those it open another text file in a different text box.
Clarification: I have two text boxes in my flash file.One has current products. And the other is the description of the product they select. I would like a way to edit and change the products in the first text box without having to keep using the FLA file. Which is why i am using this code

I need help getting it to show up in a text box.That is the first part But the main problem is im not sure how to code the a href correctly so that when i click it, another text file opens in the second text box.So that when a user clicks on a product ,like "Product 1" It opens the correct description text file in the second text box.

I have created a booklet in InDesign cs4 that includes page turn transitions. I have saved it as a SWF file and it works perfectly on my PC with the ability to sweep through the page turns. My issue is now, what type of file can I export the SWF file to so that I can view it on an iPad and am still able to have the page curls?

I have a problem with SharedObject. I created SharedObject using AS2.0 it's working fine.... my question is can it possible to store the variable values in an .txt file where the flash file is saved... basically the SharedObject will store the vallues in localdrive with file extention. not only using SharedObject if any other way to store the vaules in .txt file will be helpfull for me... my requirement is to store the the position of the swf file and when the time it reopen, it should start from previous position.

When i save the file as an .swf file to view it in my browser the video gets really big (sized the flash document 250x240 px) . How can i easily control my flash video sizes?
another thing: When im doing a video and work with things that are outside of my white document (in the gray area) for instance things that are to be faded into the document and so on. These things also show up in outside of my video when i view it in my browser.

I have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to use a .ICO file instead of a .PNG or .JPEG file in my Flash project. Is this even possible? The reason I'm asking is that the project I'm putting together uses ActionScript 2.0 code (not sure if that makes a difference or not) and displays a bunch of images for a bunch of different applications. So instead of creating a .PNG file for each application, since I've already got .ICO files on hand, I'd rather use those (saving me a ton of time).

I have a task to upgrade a web site. I have a map of ND with some cities on it. I needed to add a new city to the SWF which did not seem to be hard (asuming I did it correct). The action on all the buttons for each city look like this except the name after the # is the city selected.
