I've got some files that I use in Flash CS4 and I need to use them in Flash MX2004. I worked out that I could open the files in Flash CS4 and try to edit the content from the library with Photoshop CS4 (right-click on the item in the library, Edit with...) but for some reason it doesn't work.
So I worked out that I could drag and drop one image at a time on the stage and use Export feature to export it as an image. It worked! Now, my question is: How can I export a sound file form my library onto a disk (so I could use it in Flash MX2004)?

I turn to you for help, dear sweet Kirupa Forumites. First, let me explain the problem: I have a flash file reading an external text file for the content. Everything works perfectly for nearly everyone - you click a menu button, and the content text comes up fine. However, a couple of people have found that the text shows up as "undefined". I have checked the player versions of the people where it doesn't work, and it is the same as for those where it does work, so that ain't the problem.
I don't understand why it works perfectly for nearly everyone, but a small number of people have this "undefined" text problem. It seems to be a problem with loading the external text file, but I don't know why. I have a main flash movie, and load the text in the first frame, using the following:

I then have a couple of dynamic text boxes in the main movie - one called ErrorText (for displaying an error message to the user) and one called ContentText (for displaying the content). I use an external menu swf which jumps to a specific frame in the main movie, depending on which button is clicked. Actionscript on the main movie frame for the first button does the following, with the other frames similarly configured:
ContentText.htmlText = my_content.content1;
stop();
My external text file is properly configured (content1=blah blah&content2=other blah blah) etc.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can solve this particular weird problem??

This code works perfect when testing, and it works perfect viewing the SWF, but when you view the HTML file with the SWF embedded, it doesn't display the text file content.

I have a flash application which has alternative content when Flash is not available, this works fine. However if a firewall blocks SWF files the SEO content does not show. The flash plugin is still installed so the alt content is hidden but what remains is just a blank screen where the Flash object should be.

I'm loading content through an XML file. Most of the content is working correctly. Flash is creating buttons based on some of the content in the XML file, the rest of the content in the XML file is static text and images.
Everything at first loads fine, the buttons all work, they change the text values but for the life of me I can't figure out why its not changing the image. I tried to create a function to remove the first image then load the new one but that didn't work.

I have a loaderIt loads xml files, which are like galleries (each has many image paths inside)I loop over the xml nodes to get all the image pathsI create a new loader for each image (called imageLoader), and dump each one within a movieclip which is on the stage (called _storage)I need to switch between galleries so I need to unload the content of one xml file, then load a different one Does that make sense? My problem is this - currently I am simply removing _storage then creating it and loading into it again when I want to switch galleries. It works, visually. The galleries switch...but I don't think the images are actually being removed.[code]....

Flash cs4 was installed and worked fine until lately. I cannot draw, use pen, shape tools, or load any previous pictures created in flash using the actionscript 3.0 new doc create. When I click/drag-- the image is there, but as soon as I unclick the image dissapears. Properties inspector shows that there is content but they are invisible. .fla files that I hve created and saved before open, but page is blank. The weirdest thing is that when I open a new doc using the AS 2.0 selection, everything works fine.I am somewhat coherent in the basic functionality of flash, and have tried the obvious i.e. fill and stroke colors, but I don't remember changing any settings.

I'm running ubuntu 9.1 firefox 3.5.9 and flash player 10.1 r53. You tube works okay but napster every single track that gets to about 40 seconds restarts - and this isn't because of my subscription since it works on my laptop and desktop. Also [URL] movies restart eveysingle time too. Running on advent 4213 netbook.

My company standard is IE7I'm charged with developing flv that will auto play on PC from a removable thumb drive.in addition it should be able to launch a url.I'm using CS4 Flash and Dreamweaverdeveloping on a Mac.I've used action script 3 to program buttons that start, stop and launch urlI've worked everything out on a Mac.it works fine in Mac environment. when I try load the html web page on the PC with IE7 the flash content (either a swf or flv embedded using Dreamweaver) does not load.IF I leave the IE specific html in the code IE7 returns a message that flash player needs to update. - IT has installed the latest version of flash player.If the swf file auto loads and plays then Why is that a problem?I've not been able to test the code on any other version of IE

I had that 'Access denied' error message whenever I tried to access help within Flash CS5 (that's pretty bad). I searched for far too long and found the obscure solution.
During the process I decided it might be safer to access the online help from my browser in the meantime. But with the problem solved I want to switch back to viewing the content through the Flash IDE.
I can't find those preference settings again though

I'm creating a Flash SWC for use in an AIR project.
I created a component which I tweened from big to small.
I tried sampling the width/height at different keyframes (using both flash actions and the flex debugger) and the object always reports itself to be the original width/height.
The result is that any content I assign to the SWC container does not resize when the tween happens.
Is there another way to put dynamic flex content into a SWC?

URL...This link works fine in my desktop computer, but when i try to check it with my laptop or netbook, it wont load the video thumbnails or so.It just keeps saying leniyor (loading) and gets stuck.The flash player version is the same with my desktop and laptop. I tried it over various browsers including IE, Chrome and firefox.

I am having a slight issue, i have created a flash file 800 x 600,But i need to split it into half... i already have animations on both halfs which overflow to the off screen,Is there a way of cutting the content in half via width (400x600)? (im uploading the content into a system which requires it in 2 halfs and also if i have any content off screen is messes up...)

I'm creating a UI which utilizes UILoader component to load content that I won't have control of.The "window" where I want content to appear is 950 x 420. Doing a simple test, I created a .swf with a stage size that matched, but with content bleeding over the edge of the stage.To ensure users only see what's on the stage of the loaded content - and not what's bleeding off - would the correct action be to create a mask for the UILoader instance? Are there any alternatives to using a mask? Like a property or something? (I didn't see anything.)

I'm having trouble calling up the content in my scrollpane in a simple quiz application. I'm a graphic designer so I'm not real proficient with AS3 yet. I created a scrollpane object called Scroller1 and I'm trying to scroll a movie object called Movie1 inside the scrollpane. The code I used from the Adobe site calls up an external file, but I want to call up an internal movie so I changed the Scroller1.source = to the movie name, but it doesn't work.

Is there some other way I need to call this up? The movie is a contents list that has buttons to take you to various frames in the application and it's too long for one page.

I have a Flash GUI loading in external SWFs, published as a projector file and the functionality seems to be working perfectly...however, for some inexplicable reason, when I press Ctrl + F to view in fullscreen mode...the stage snaps to the top left corner.[code]just to see what would happen...the result...well, the above code worked...for about a half-a-second...then the main movie (i.e. the stage) snapped right back to the top left corner.

I am writing a class in AS 3.0 to read in a xml file to create content for a quiz. Once I instantiate the xml obj and pass in a string that determines the xml name in the constructor for the xml class I read in the xml and populate some arrays. Evidently in AS 3.0 you have listeners for reading in xml, which is the problem I am having. Once the object is instantiated I try to call on a method called getArray, but the XML hasnt finished being read in and I get a compile error. I am using the load command to load content from a .txt file on my server. I have it all working just find when I preview the swf file in flash and when I view the .swf in my web browser from my server. The problem when I view the .swf file on my php page (home.php) I only get undefined variables, it seems to not be able to connect to the .txt files only when I am viewing it on my php page. Again if I view the .swf file on my server using my web browser it works fine.

I am calling one method at an interval of 3 sec. This method reads a file from server and then display its content. The file which is getting read is a log file which gets updated at regular interval. The issue is once some content read by AS then it is not getting updated that means after every execution of the function content of src variable below remains same even thou the source file is updated.
