I have a flash application which has alternative content when Flash is not available, this works fine. However if a firewall blocks SWF files the SEO content does not show. The flash plugin is still installed so the alt content is hidden but what remains is just a blank screen where the Flash object should be.

View 2 RepliesI've got some files that I use in Flash CS4 and I need to use them in Flash MX2004. I worked out that I could open the files in Flash CS4 and try to edit the content from the library with Photoshop CS4 (right-click on the item in the library, Edit with...) but for some reason it doesn't work.
So I worked out that I could drag and drop one image at a time on the stage and use Export feature to export it as an image. It worked! Now, my question is: How can I export a sound file form my library onto a disk (so I could use it in Flash MX2004)?
Is it possible to have Flash content from one Iframe appear over the top of content in another Iframe? e.g. as if one wanted to have a drop down menu?I tried exporting an animation beyond movie size, with a windowless transparent setting but that didn't work
View 2 RepliesFlash cs4 was installed and worked fine until lately. I cannot draw, use pen, shape tools, or load any previous pictures created in flash using the actionscript 3.0 new doc create. When I click/drag-- the image is there, but as soon as I unclick the image dissapears. Properties inspector shows that there is content but they are invisible. .fla files that I hve created and saved before open, but page is blank. The weirdest thing is that when I open a new doc using the AS 2.0 selection, everything works fine.I am somewhat coherent in the basic functionality of flash, and have tried the obvious i.e. fill and stroke colors, but I don't remember changing any settings.

You tube works okay but napster every single track that gets to about 40 seconds restarts - and this isn't because of my subscription since it works on my laptop and desktop. During the process I decided it might be safer to access the online help from my browser in the meantime. But with the problem solved I want to switch back to viewing the content through the Flash IDE.

I'm creating a Flash SWC for use in an AIR project.
I created a component which I tweened from big to small.
I tried sampling the width/height at different keyframes (using both flash actions and the flex debugger) and the object always reports itself to be the original width/height.
The result is that any content I assign to the SWC container does not resize when the tween happens.
Is there another way to put dynamic flex content into a SWC?

URL...This link works fine in my desktop computer, but when i try to check it with my laptop or netbook, it wont load the video thumbnails or so.It just keeps saying leniyor (loading) and gets stuck.The flash player version is the same with my desktop and laptop. View 4 RepliesI'm creating a UI which utilizes UILoader component to load content that I won't have control of.The "window" where I want content to appear is 950 x 420. Doing a simple test, I created a .swf with a stage size that matched, but with content bleeding over the edge of the stage.To ensure users only see what's on the stage of the loaded content - and not what's bleeding off - would the correct action be to create a mask for the UILoader instance? Are there any alternatives to using a mask? Like a property or something? (I didn't see anything.)
View 4 RepliesI'm having trouble calling up the content in my scrollpane in a simple quiz application. I'm a graphic designer so I'm not real proficient with AS3 yet. I created a scrollpane object called Scroller1 and I'm trying to scroll a movie object called Movie1 inside the scrollpane. The code I used from the Adobe site calls up an external file, but I want to call up an internal movie so I changed the Scroller1.source = to the movie name, but it doesn't work.

Is there some other way I need to call this up? The movie is a contents list that has buttons to take you to various frames in the application and it's too long for one page.
I have a Flash GUI loading in external SWFs, published as a projector file and the functionality seems to be working perfectly...however, for some inexplicable reason, when I press Ctrl + F to view in fullscreen mode...the stage snaps to the top left corner.[code]just to see what would happen...the result...well, the above code worked...for about a half-a-second...then the main movie (i.e. the stage) snapped right back to the top left corner.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to build a "product spotlight" area on my site's homepage. There are a lot of products, so I want to display them randomly, and I want to specify an image, link and text in the XML file.
I've started by using the XML gallery on kirupa.com, but that didn't quite do what I wanted. I found a little workaround when I found a random XML image loader on another site, and used that.. all it would load was an image, so to make the product photos be links and have special text I made each photo a .swf instead of .jpg file and added a button link over the whole image. This way works, but we are adding more and more products and it's becoming cumbersome. There will be about 50 different products randomly changing.
It would be perfect if we could just set up the xml like
<list> <product> <image>whatever.com/product1.jpg</image> <url>whatever.com/product.2htm</url> <title>Buy this now for $3.50</title> </product> <product> <image>whatever.com/product2.jpg</image> <url>whatever.com/product2.htm</url> <title>Buy this now for $4.50</title> </product></list>
And then the flash file would have the link on the top layer and pull the url from the xml file, bottom layer would load in the image, and in the middle we'd have the title, maybe I'd have it slide in with a basic tween or something like that. And then, there could be like 50 different images listed in the xml, and it would display one randomly for like 10 seconds, then fade into a new one, and just keep swapping it out forever and ever. I really want to do it this way because I can update the text or images without having to build a new .swf file every time something changes.I know how to do some regular basic flash stuff, but I never got into the hardcore actionscripting, so I'm kinda stumped. Anyone know how I can pull something like this off or know of freeware example that I can use and build off of?
I use Flash CS4 and most of the explanations you find online are for CS3.I used a mechanism once in HTML that set the flash site to 100% width, 100% height, which did scale it but there was no maximum limit and all the content got scaled equally. I would like to do it like in the HP above, where certain elements are differently scaled.

View 1 RepliesIf I have an HTML splash page that has a embedded SWF consisting of a preloader (for itself) at the start of its timeline, then a 5 second hold (no new Flash material), and then have a number of images on HTML page in a <div style="display:none;visiblity:hidden;">, all set with sizes of 1x1:2) Does the SWF get priority with the download, or are both the SWF and images given the same download priority?3) How would I preload (on the splash page) a second SWF that is used in the inner page? Would I embed it as usual, but use the CSS display:none, and set the size as 1x1, as I do with images?
4) Is there a better way to preload the SWF, where the main (splash) SWF actually loops while it downloads the second swf? Would I be loading that second SWF into the splash SWF on a different document level? What ActionScript commands would I use for that? loadMovieNum()? Would I put the incoming second SWF off stage, or set its visibility to hidden?I figured I'd preload some of the interface/common graphics for the inner HTML page that the visitor is brought to after the initial Flash splash page. Even without a preloader that would loop until all the content is loaded, I figured I could just have the splash page hold for a bit, and give the hidden <div> images a chance to load in the background. Obviously, using that method wouldn't guarantee that all the imags load, since it's unmonitored, but would at least give them a bit of a head start
I have a couple of Image Loaders, the images that they call are bigger than the components themselves but have turned on scaleContent to ensure that it fits and scales to size. This works fine across many platforms but i've found that on some systems it displays the imported image at it's true size rather than the actual size of the component.

try to localize the pages though (so that a Salesperson can have a CD full of demos), none of them seem to work.Is this an over-sensitive Flash security issue? We already have allowscriptaccess='always' and swliveconnect=true in the object/embed tags.
What can we do that doesn't require changes on each individual machine to set trust paths or any other kind of browser configuration?
