I am working with Flash files from several Flash versions back; files not created by me.One swf has buttons that call a series of second (front) swf that in turn have buttons.My problem is that the buttons on the underlying and partially-obscured Flash remain 'mouse-sensitive' and active even though they are not visible.layer, returning sensitivity to the under-layer only when the top layer is closed?

For my college project I've created buttons were when you roll over images they are enlarged. The problem I have is when I roll over the images, the one next to the one I want shows in front of the image that I'm scrolling over with the mouse. I want it so that the image being rolled over is in front. For example when the magazine article on the far left is enlarged it goes behind the logos next to it instead of in front so you can see clearly what's being scrolled.

I've taken 60+ pictures of a camera rotating by 5 degree increments and I'm trying to put together something similar to what Verizon has on their website for phones - Where your mouse rolls over an object and rotates it.
I've seen this done with Java as well, but I'm interested in how flash does it.

View 4 Replieshow I can get my cursor to the front? It stays behind my movieclips, that are moles. They are not in the frame, but it is a move script in the movieclip that makes i move. Is there any way to get my cursor to appear infront of everything? I have already tried to move to front, change the layer it is in. I have also tried to add the cursor further down in the script but it didn't work.

View 10 RepliesIve seen some code, but I haven't understood it. I am trying to do a website with images which are at the same time buttons to a slideshow of the pictures. I just found out that my problem is that some of the images are crossing each other very badly when you move your mouse over them. (the pictures when you go over them with your mouse turn colored and have white borders on them, but as some images have the same border its not displaying it right.)
I must make them movieclips and then swap depths I just wonder if there is a way without making them movieclips..
I've four images on the stage. When mouse over one image that zoom in and comes to front. When mouse over another image it will come to front (zooming) and the previous one goes back (zoomout).

I see lots of posts and threads related to swap depths but I can't seem to get it to work. I assume swap depths are what I need to do but I want to run the idea by you all. View 2 RepliesI'm new to the whole flash thing and I'm learning on flash 8 - In photoshop you can group layers so that the blending mode you use on a layer will only apply to the layers in that group... I've been searching all over, and maybe it's right in front of me, but does flash have a way of isolating the selected blending mode to just the layers or objects of the user's choice?
View 6 RepliesI made a very minimal javascript bookmarklet (~1 KB minified) that lets me play videos inside a distraction-free lightbox. In my script, I clone the <embed> element containing the movie and wrap a lightbox div around it, so even in those cases where the "Turn Lights Off" chrome extension fails, mine works. Only problem is that since I clone the <embed>, I lose any buffering I had done previously. This is a major turnoff as I'm on a slow connection and I don't always remember to load the bookmarklet before hitting play — the UX is downright horrible.Is there a way to improve the script so I can isolate the <embed> in a lightbox without losing any buffering done prior?

I want it to look like what is found on www.athenahealth.com, but can't seem to find the software the does this. Is it Adobe Flash? I haven't been able to figure out how they make it with viewer controls (elapsed time, pause, etc) and embeds seamlessly in the website (as opposed to the videos that pop up in a lightbox).
Can anyone provide any insight into the software used by Athena Health on this site?

You hover each box and they flip over but the "backside" of these cards are larger in both length and width than the front. When they flip over they overlap the neighbouring card. I have just created a flv, and want to control a button on the stage that I placed there.
Basically when a person clicks the play button I want that button to vanish.
I'm currently design an application that when a button is pressed it expands to display further information.A major issue I am faced with is that if the button is pressed whilst contracting so that it expands again, the co-ordinates are saved from when it was clicked, meaning it will never return to its original state.
I either need a way of disabling the mouse click on the button whilst the TweenMax is doing its job in contracting the button, or by extracting the coordinates from an array. I've managed to get the array of coordinates from my menu class into the main class, but can't work out the best way in order to stop the problem from occuring.

View 2 RepliesI got four buttons that pull up images in a slide show. I want the fourth button to first pull the image in place and THEN shut down the movie clip. I thought this would be easy, but no. Unfortunately I can´t attach the fla-file on this forum. You could take a look at this:

That´s the code for the last/fourth button, it pulls the fourth image in place. So that´s in order.I added this below in the same script:

It works in a sense. The movie falls into place when I click the button and the movie quits when I move the cursor. But it also means you might shut down the slide show involuntary when you move the cursor going for any of the other buttons.
When I try to open the actions window via F9 (yes on a timeframe with existing code), the timeline colapses, but no actions window. I have to double click on the header of the timeline at the very bottom of the screen to bring it back. When I try F9 again (or even Window-Actions from the top menu), the timeline vanishes again, but no actions window comes up.
