how can I unite 15 swf files which placed in one folder to a one swf file? i tried all kindes of merging softwares like "Join (Merge, Combine) Multiple SWF Files Into One Software" and "WinMerge" without success and tried to convert swf to flv (cause i found other merging software for flv files) but again.I have CS5 so if i'll have to open Flash for this i will, though i'm trying to avoid that and even then i'm gonna need full instructions.

So created a Sprite to which I add other Sprites which are game tiles. Each tile is 60 x 60 px big. In result I've the Sprite with about 200 childs (those tiles).When I try to startDrag() the container sprite the lag when moving it is very noticeable..
Is there a way like to join the tile Sprites so the container would have only 1 child Sprite instead of 200? Because it lags so much probably cause it needs to move (change the x and y) all those 200 tiles.. Am I correct?In this case I can't use the cacheAsBitmap property, cause user can zoom in or zoom out the map..

What i have on the stage are lots of balls each with there on name b1,b2,b3 etc. and i have something that is going to hit it with hitTest.
Insted of hardcoding all the balls into the hitTest i want to have a variable containing the first part of the objects name (_root.b) then add i on the the end and i would loop from 1 to how many balls are on the stage eg. 10.
so for my code at the moment I don't have a loop but using "i = 0"

When i trace "mcName" it shows "_root.b1.ball2" which is the correct object, but the hitTest doesn't seem to see it and fails.
If i put mcName as "_root.b1.ball2" (hardcoding it) it works.
Ive tried so many different tweaks and just can't seem to get it to do it.

I'm just wondering why my swf files won't play when I upload them along with my HTML file to the server.

I inserted the swf in 'insert media' - 'shockwave' and the thing works when I press play to view it within dreamweaver. However, when I try to view it on a browser, either locally or remotely, it doesn't work.

I have Flash CS5 at work, and CS3 at home. I am creating a FLA file at home that I'd like to append to an existing file at work. I'm guessing that I'll just need to import all of the symbols from the CS3 file into the CS5 file and then copy and paste the frames - or is there a better way to do it? What I'd really like to do is to somehow convert the CS3 file into a movie clip symbol that I could just run in the CS5 file. Is this possible?

I have tried all manner of AS3 scripts to no avail. Most scripts that are listed on the internet either loads them and displays them at the same time (simlutaneously) or I get script errors.

I have created a swf player using the flvplayback component to display flv files. The document in flash is 275 pixels wide by 130px pixels long. I also have my video component (flyPlayBack) set at 275px by 100px to display the playback controls. My flash code is my simple like the following

i know i've seen this before, maybe on that flash experimental math site that was all black and white and had a picture of a kid swatting at some molecular looking flies? anyone remember the name of that/well anyway, what i'm trying to pull off here is like a circle of some sort, all of sudden growing a small little circle and then both of them dividing, or possibly, a two circles(modules, atoms, particles) join to be one.

I am new flash developer, and inherited a project which has 4 fla project files. When it runs inside a browser, it appears "window" which occupies whole browser. This project is write in Flash CS3. I have few questions:
1). When loading main swf file, 3 other swf files are also loaded. These swf files are communicating with each other through message. When debug the mail swf with CS3, I can set breakpoint and the program can stop only at limited AS files. My questions is how to debug other AS files in other swf file?
2) I used CS5. It seems that I can stop at more AS files, which does not belong to main swf file. Why?
My questions is should I use CS5, which might makes debugging easier? Is it right direction to go to debug multiple swf? (For CS5, I need to fix some code in order to make the program fully working as CS3)
3) What's best tool to use for such project since CS3 is very old. Should I use Flash builder, Flex. Amethyst?

I am trying to delete some files from a flash template I purchased, when I open the .fla file in flash and go into the library, I would like to delete the contact box and the mp3 player, when I locate those files in the library and delete the files, the website no longer opens up (it will not work when I delete those files from the library)?

I installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

I am constructing a Flash animation and I was hoping to build it by scenes. These scenes would be individual SWF movies that I could import into my final Flash file in consequential order and when finished I would have a completed Flash Movie. There would be no interaction beyond Play/and replay. Where can I get information on how to construct this and is this a recomended way to do it?

I have no experience with Adobe Flash because others have done this out of house in the past. (time has come for me to learn - quickly)
I need to simply create "swf" files from a number of videos I have finished in Premiere Pro 5.5.
These videos are 800 x 600 videos that display at "point-of-sale". The spec is swf and not flv.
(I do not need to do anything else in Flash apart from create the video file with the swf extension.)

what I'm trying to do is make a preloader that will preload about 20 external SWF files before it lets you get to my main file. I want to do this because my main file needs the SWFs to be ready to go once its done loading. I have looked around and i found a few ways to do this with the "if (loadedBytes>=totalBytes)" and the code loops back till the files are done loading... this would be just what i need but i cant seem to get it to work. the file just seems to start loading my files but does not loop and just runs the time-line even once i state what frames i want it to loop.

I bought an Easy Flash Template from web-flash-template.com. The template consists of a flash file (fully flash based site), PSD files, image files and a .txt file for all the text. There's no problem editing all the files, except for the .fla file. I am trying to edit it to add a new page, embed a youtube video, etc and I see no layers for each screen. When I look in the ActionScript I see some details there which mentions screen 50 or 95, etc, but I can't edit any of those screens. Either I'm missing the boat thoroughly (which could be ) or this is a poorly designed template.So, my question is, would anyone here who is a little more experienced with flash be willing to let me email them the file to take a quick look at it to give me any pointers?

Though, on one of the simplest things though I can not have the flash file select the XML files. It will select the first but will not continue with playing the rest of the songshere is my AS and XML files.

I have several swf files embedded in my website, but they don't display immediately in the browser. The rest of the page (html) displays without delay, but there's always about a 1 or 2 second lag for the swf. Is there a way to optimize the swf files so they load immediately along with the rest of the page?
