I have a site that contains approx 20 pages of lengthy forms. The forms exist on single frames within the flash movie. This application is used as a demo only, so I do not have a need to submit the form data. The demo is used to go back and forth from form to form and fill in mock data. The problem is when the user goes from form to form the data they have entered is not saved. Is there a way I can set all frames to remember the data entered into the form without having to set every form control instance? There thousands of fields in these forms and I am trying to avoid individually naming them and scripting them to save their values.
I have created a simple Flash file using actionscript 2 (CS3) that allows a user to enter text into an input text field and then print the results. Now what I want to do is allow the user to save the information they've typed in a file of some sort. I would prefer a .pdf, but I'm not married to that format.

I am a developer in Web Flash Game.(I use AS3.0) I want to save and load the swf-file to a local disk of any user,Because I want to decrease the time for loading a flash movie from site.Is it possible? If it is possible, I hope the swf-file has only one loading from site and it will be loaded from a local disk of any user after that. (I know a concept of Internet temporary file. I want to know the other techniques of only using AS3.0.)
We are professional game developers working on our first game in the Flash format. As the game will be about 70 megabytes in size we would like to allow the player the option of saving the game to hard drive to avoid reloading in the future.
I'm looking to create an input field in my flash site where users can enter their email address to sign up for a newsletter, ultimately so the email gets added to our mailing list (hosted by constant contact).I can create the look, i'm just terrible at the science that makes it work.
I have made two input forms, one for the subject and one for the message, and a button. Now, my problem is that I want the data from the form to go into the users email program in the right boxes.
I don't want the button to send the message!! Just open the message in the email program.
I am trying to copy frames from 6 different layers along with the objects (action script, tween motions, buttons, graphic elements) from one movieclip to another. But once I do that, everyhting seems to be shifted and if I try to reposition the items in the new clip, it seems like I would have to repeat after every keyframe for each layer.
So my question is A. Is there a way to duplicate a movie clip but give it a instance name (an entirely new movieclip with the same frames and layers in the same position as the previous)?
B. How can I move mutliple objects across layers and keyframes?
I need to build a web application in flash, the gist is the application takes users inputs and generates a network diagram based on that inputs. I actually coded the entire application in JS DOM and PHP GD, and client comes back suddenly saying they cant support PHP (IT restrictions). So now am back to square one, wondering, how to draw network images dynamically. JS cant do it. So I stumbled upon Actionscript. So if i were to code an application entirely in actionscript,
1. Does actionscript provide me a way to create input fields (select, text, textarea...etc)
2. Would i be able to use these user inputs from Question 1 to generate a network diagram?
3. Can actionscript do Question's 1 and 2 without needing support from a server side scripting language like PHP?
I have an idea for a simple game/program and not sure if Flash is the way to go.After reading many articles I've come to the conclusion that if I wanna make my idea a reality then I need to do it myself but not sure where to start. Before spending the money on buying cs 5.5 want to make sure it can do what I need.So my question is can you have users input data that would then control your animations? For a simple example:I want a user to be able to input a number then depending on the number a certain animation sequence would occur. So say a user inputs the number 10 then my animation would walk over to a pile of say apples and pick up 10 apples. If they input 5 the animation would pick up 5 apples etc...So my idea has nothing to do with apples but revolves around the user inputting numerical data which would then control what the animations do.
I would like to basically create an flash application that would allow a visitor to answer a few questions and then be presented with an image based on the answers provided via a form. If the generated output is not acceptable - I would like the visitor to be able to regenerate the output with a single click and continue to do so until the image is acceptable. The questions/process would be something like:
1. What is your favorite shape? (a drop down list of data from DB would be selectable)
2. what is your favorite color? (same as above option)
3. what is your favorite things to do? (this answer would work similar to a search and match keywords related to images within the DB and be placed in a designated area of the image)
4. what is your name? (first - last)
the results would then generate a image... Does anyone know where I can begin the process of making a application like this?
I'd like to set up my splash page (all Flash) so that the login form is ready and waiting for input, without the user having to move the pointer to the first input text field and then click it.
I have some text that says go to page with a input textfield box and a go button. This is a flash cs4 file.I want to have the user input the page number and have it go to that frame.I am using actionscript 3.0 and have bought 4 books and researched online and still can't find what I am looking for.I can make the go button go to whatever page I want I just don't know how to get the information the user put in the box.
I have created a form in flash (CS5) using AS3 and Php.The test run worked absolutely fine but now I have added the form to my (original) flash movie it has a number of errors come up... Thing is that I've just spent the last 2 hours trying to get this form to work and having no success what so ever.

Is it possible to make a feature that allows the user to save as swf?
lets say the user drag and drop something unto the stage.. the user got some sort of timeline to control the tween with.. the user make a second keynote. and moves the object earlier draged onto the stage, so now if user press "play", the object will move.. and now the 1million dollar question.. is it possible to save this tween/movement as a SWF? (or avi or whatever..) as long as it can be loaded again later? - using xml is not an option in this case.
I am trying to save user location in a course. I am looking for the a simple way for a new Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3 user. The program will be copied to the users hard drive. I am creating a course that has 3 topics each with about 8 sections. The user can go to any of the topics in order and when they complete can do a final assessment. I am looking for a simple way to keep track if the user has finished any of the topics, then to keep track of where they are in a section, so when they return to the program they can pick up where they left off. Also, wondered if their is a next label command like the nextScene command?
I am trying to save user data and I keep on coming up with the same problem. The problem code is highlighted red in the ITEM.as file. The problem is that when I update the variable it updates the savefile also, when it should not! I do not have a clue what is wrong because I am putting the traces for the savefile in one right after the other so the code can't be executing elsewhere right?
SAVE.as
ActionScript Code: class Save_mc extends MovieClip { var nSaveAnim:Number = 0; function onEnterFrame() {
At my college, they have CS4 (master suite) and at home I've got CS5 (design premium). I can save files in CS5 as CS4 so they can be read at college (by Flash) but I have to do it via the "save as" every time I save. After a couple of times, it get rather irritating. Is it possible for me to save in the usual way (as if it was a CS5 document) without the save as dialog every time I save my work?
I'm working on a project using AS3 and timeline coding. I can't figure out how to save user information and score. When I run the movie and complete form and answer quiz questions, information is displayed on closing section, but it doesn't save.
Here are the main sections by label:
// SECTIONS Introduction (labeled "intro") -- contains directions Information (labeled "inf") -- collects user information quiz-questions (25 questions -- from q1 to q25) -- presents questions
What's the best way to save user credentials in flex? Local storage doesn't seem like good place for storing confidential data, because it saves information as a plain text.
don't have any experience with it but I've designed a tool for people to use on my website.I need a way for them save a section of the flash interactive flash to their computer Hard disk.link here
I'm trying to create a music bar that will have next/prev track buttons.I thought of creating an array of the tracks and navigating through the array.Naming the tracks "track1", "track2" etc, start with track1 and increase the number after every pass through the loop. Although I thought of these I could not get the code to work.
I have found many drawing pad solutions. Some good, some not as good. All of them, however, fail to show how to save the file as a pdf (would be happy with bmp right about now) from the drawing pad to a server side folder via php. Can someone show how to do that using as3?
On the advanced side, I also need to figure out how to make it recognize logged in users of the preexisting CMS in order to save out to specific user folders. The CMS is Joomla 1.5 latest build, with JomSocial and JSPT multi profile. It would save out to folders created by the JMarketPro system.
I am developing a small flash application. In my application a user can draw a painting. I want to capture the drawing process as a video, and later allow him to view how he painted the drawing. Is such a thing possbile? If so how (do I need flash media server for this)?
