Professional :: ProLoader That Works On One Fla Fails On Another?
Mar 1, 2012
I have some proLoader code that works on one FLA file and I am trying to reuse the code on another file to pull in the exact same .swf in the same location and I am getting this error.. What do you reckon is going on?
I used the proLoader that comes in Flash5.5 to load a swf which contains a tlf text with an embedded font. The proLoader works great but it doesn't display the font instead it displays a font that looks like Helvetica. I also tried 'merged into code' in RSL settings default linkage and the swf still does not display the font I want. It works fine in Classic Text.
I have learned that the only way to conditionally test if an XML file exists is to go ahead and load it, first. Then base your conclusions on whether the load fails or succeeds.
I have used the code below to determine file existence with my own project, but it will only correctly work from my own hard drive. If I push my compiled work onto my web space, the result will always be True (file exists), even though it is absolutely False. I have tested this condition with the Alert component, and the routine indeed fires as True when it should not. I am not trying to cross domains when checking, either; it is all within the root directory.
why the routine would fail on the web, but work perfectly on my own hard drive?
I was wondering what is everyone's experience are on why a network request would work in FlashCS5 and in a browser locally but when i post it online it fails.The survivorId is sent from the string query. Both tests were done calling a network database.I've tried the following:Outputing the survivorId in a text field and seeing if the parameter variables were being sent correctly.Set the "Networking Only" option in the publish settings.Also is there a way to output trace actions from browsers for more in depth debugging?*EDIT: I have recreated the bug locally in a browser. Without trace actions i don't know if i can figure it out.*EDIT2: That bug only showed up because its from localhost (Apolligies, this is just wierd)Heres My Code, There is the "Stage" then it goes "localSurvivor"(movieClip) then in side that localSurvivor movieclip the "lPlayer" class is addChild() to localSurvivor MovieClipStage-> localSurivor-> lPlayer(survivorId);On the stage is this code:
//Set localP Id var survId:Number = root.loaderInfo.parameters.sId; //Object(root).informationTxt.text = survId;
I have a menu which is a external Swf, It consists of 6 swf files.These menu's are loaded dynamically containing info from XML.When you click on of one the 6 buttons I want to use loadMovie to load'one of the swf files specified on the button' into a container called 'Scroller'.The idea is that it replaces the loaded swf with another one when you click another button.I gave everything instance names including the scroller.When i test the movie It does load when i click on button1.When i click on button 1 again, it even loads again.If I Click on button 2 (or 3,4,5,6) after i clicked on 1 it replaces the first swf.But after that nothing else works. When i click on one of the other buttonsthe trace doesn't even come up.
It rarely happened, I use a flash in exe type to access url in local server. It usually success to access the url. When it fail to access the url, open the ie to access the browser. the url works. After using browser, flash success to access the url. The url would return the JSON content. I use URLLoader to load url, and the return error is no responding when it happen.
If the error happen, it would not access the url even restart the computer.
I've createa simple flash banner (FL10, CS4) that is used stored in multiple locations on a server, which is sent a relative path to an XML file via FlashVars. relative path images are then loaded from this xml file.the base class for the banner is.Thins all works fine locally and in IE but in Firefox it fails about half the time to trigger the loaderinfo Event.COMPLETE call.(essence of the Base class below:)
public class Banner extends MovieClip { public function Banner() [code]....
migrating some of my code snippets over from AS2.I tried reproducing one of my most used bit of code - the dynamic border - in AS3, but I have run into a small problem.
PHP Code: var sw:int = stage.stageWidth -1; var sh:int = stage.stageHeight -1;[code].....
So this code works great in Firefox but fails miserably in IE6, Flash Player 9. So my question is does anybody have a workaround that works on IE6, Player 9?
I've got 13 movieclips that all run a function (setNames) contained in a child object (namer) it contains. The function displays text in a dynamic text boxI've set them up with the instance names mark0 > mark12 so I can target them with a loop and array notation which is something I often use. But the loop sometimes doesn't work, however a list of 13 separate lines of code works fine. Am I overloading Flash with too much code commands at once, and is there a way around this?This doesn't work...
When I run the flash player (from flashdevelop) the images are loaded and everything is fine.But when I run the swf from a browser the requests are sent (using chrome's tools for programers - network tab) but nothing is loaded. The size/content column shows 0/actual size of the file
i have this flex app (it's a flex project created from flash builder), and it compiles fine when i build it from the IDE.it fails to compile when i do it from command line through mxmlc.i am invoking the mxmlc at the location "flash-builder-installation"sdks"flex-ver"inthe mxml file is test.mxml.i don't have any dependency on any of custom swc file.i am getting the following type errors when i compile it.[code]
I am using System.security.allowDomain in both files.The tween in movie2 fails to work when the swf loads from an external domain. However, it works perfectly when this swf is loaded locally. Also strange is that the movie2 tween does work externally if the tween libraries are commented out of movie1.The Challenge: Get both the red and blue boxes to fall when movie2.swf is loaded from an external domain.[code]
i am trying to install a copy of Flash macromeadia 2004 mx profesional. the software installs fine when i go to open it it apears in the dock and nothing happens. right clicking on the icon in the dock the program says it's not reasponding.
on the box on my flash it syas made for mac osx 10.2.6 and my mac is running mac osx 10.6.7
I have the CS4 Creative Suite, I just got done checking for updates msg and downloaded all.
Dreamweaver, Acrobat and all others were installed but for some reason Flash is still at 10.0 I downloaded manually as well and still I'm on build 10.0.0.544
I've bought the new Adobe Web Premium CS5 and I have big problems with the Flash Professional CS5.
First time the application started correctly, but didn't start next time. I always had to remove all application settings in "Documents and Settings/user/Local Settings/Application Data/Flash CS5", what is already not very good.
I'm have Flash CS5 trial on windows 7, I want to install the updates but I get "Install Failed" without any other information.First I tried to install 11.02 which failed, so I tried to install 11.01 which finished with message "Done with errors"
There was this problem with CS4 which was solved with an upgrade and now CS5 again fails to compile my larger FLAs. Sad to see the IDE going backwards.
CS5. 120fps bottom layer png of car, duration 120frames, top layer png of indicator lights duration 60 frames, run movie lights flash. Select both layers and go Modify>convert to symbol>movieClip. Copy the MC that appears in the library to a new blank file, make that file also 120fps. run movie see car but no lights flash. I have done no coding at all, does it need such to run. It has just what may be created when choosing new file. What I had been doing was putting this MC at the start of a bent line, snapping to the seed point, then 7 secs later (frame 840) placing it at the end of a bent line, snap etc.
Rotated it to match direction of line, created then a classic motion tween, then added a guide layer and put this line (edit copy>edit paste in place) onto that guidelayer at fr1. deleted the original line. Made the MC at fr1 orientToPath. Run Movie and it worked, but no indicators. Thinking the indicator function got screwed up somewhere, I did the test above. Obviously not the MC as a classic tween at fault. Something fundamentally basic I am expecting to work.
Situation: Work on a file, save it, and close it (example file is stored on local drive). Attempt to reload the file using the recent items list from the splash screen: File does not load, and output screen message appears: The following JavaScript error(s) occurred: Cannot find file /Volumes/users/mt/Desktop/Working Files/TMK2079_HI/Flash/TMK2079_HI-SQ.fla. This is the file just saved by Flash... and it cannot locate it. I can browse with File > Open, so it is not a critical work loss or stoppage issue, but it is annoying that it happens. It only seems to affect Flash as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop behave as expected with the recent files. It seems to be able to find files saved to a network location, but not to the local machine (in this case a folder on the desktop). I tried renaming the "Working Files" folder to remove the space, but the issue persists. I tried a search but didn't get any hits that seemed relevant.
I made a simple 15 second animation. When I play it in the program (not published yet), it plays fine. When i publish it however (I have tried both flash published and HTML published), it plays about 3/4's of the way, and restarts. The second time through (and from then on), it plays fully, just fine. How do I stop this?
Trying to recode map program to utilise modest map rather than original hand made map routines. Finished up yesterday and had squashed bugs pretty much(annoying flicker issue but that didn't appear on another web browser I figure it's flash/browser related issue). Then I realised I need to try this in IE as well. And it doesn't work. Map loads up so modest map code is working. What is NOT working is everything else. It's supposed to track locations and draw arrows to their positions.
It doesn't go to where it's supposed to initially. No arrows are drawn. No control buttons from HTML side work. Nothing. Zip. I have suspicion it could be the ExternalInterface which works differently on firefox and IE. Could that be reason? If so how does one go detecting what browser I am using and how does one need to take that into account? Or is there something else that's different between IE and firefox I need to take into account?
IE itself only gives rather mystified error message. Message: Unspecified error(my translation since original is in Finnish) Line: 49 Column: 5 Code 0: [URL] Funny thing is both php file and output html file is 37 lines long...
Play animation and after clicking the button once it no longer works. The button takes you to the frame labeled "shake". I want it to continue to take you to "shake" each time it is pressed but its not.I've got a button inside of a movie clip - actually its inside of 2. The first MC runs through and stops on the stop(); frame and than you click the button that sends the play head to the frame labeled "shake" which plays the next MC with the same button inside of it. I have put the button's action on its own layer on the first frame. The length of that buttons timeline starting from the first action keyframe is the length of the time of the other 2 MC's.
The Code mcButton.shakeButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClick); function onClick(event:MouseEvent):void{
It plays perfectly well in 'Publish Preview' and when you launch the HTML page offline. However it won't play online. First I published it in Flash 8, where I'd created it, uploaded the swf and the html. In Firefox it loaded a blank page which revealed on right click that there was a Flash movie there, but you couldn't see it or do anything. In IE it just stuck half way through loading. Then I resaved it in Flash CS3 and published it with AC_runactivecontent.js. Uploaded it to my site and the result was exactly the same. To check my syntax a friend uploaded it to his webspace, and put another swf on the same page using the same syntax. The new swf played, but mine didn't. The 'publish settings' for the two were the same. Again, if you look at the page offline both play. My friend made some changes to the FLA and published it successfully on his webspace. He suggested the file size may have been a problem: I had had some fairly large audio files in it and 'updated' them to smaller ones. The resulting swf was 6mb. We wondered if the old ones had been retaines somewhere, boosting the file size. The only other difference I can see between his version and mine is that there's a font I used which wasn't on his PC. His version has it as Arial (there is only one word in the whole thing). I took his version, deleted the sound files and reimported the smaller versions, which then published as a 3mb file. But now it doesn't play! Results in IE and FF exactly as above.
I've been developing a fairly simple presentation in CS4, AS3, OSX, which runs as a standalone projector.Everything was working for a while, but now for no apparent reason, any file I publish as a projector starts the Flash Player app, but the projector does not appear or play.Older versions that I had already published will play correctly, but if I re-publish them they do not work any more.
I've made a file in photoshop with layer. I brought it into flash. I created the movie and it plays but when I want to use the "test movie" feat. it does nothing. The graphics come up but no movement. I exported it as an .swf file but still no luck.
I created a textfield on stage, set it as dynamic, put a UIScrollBar next to it , with component inspector I set scrollTargetName to the instance name of the textfield then I wrote these actions:
var externalReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("loremIpsum.txt");var externalLoad:URLLoader = new URLLoader();externalLoad.load(externalReq);externalLoad.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, textReady);function textReady(event:Event):void { theText.text = event.target.data;}
Ot works on pc just fine. When I upload the swf and the text file to my godaddy linux hosting account the scroller doesn't work.example on server: [URL]the text you see displayed is only about a quarter of the file, I should be able to scroll through it.
I've created a Flash file that reads from several different xml files and displays them when requested. When I run the Flash player, (by pressing Command-Space within Flash), it all works flawlessly. But when I open it within a browser, only one of the xml files loads, the other two just spin away on the preloader.I have another Flash file that is doing the same thing. A click on a scrolling new list should take you to another web page. In Flash Player it works fine, but from a Browser nothing happens
I created a simple Flash app that shows a menu on the side with 2 movie choices. Each movie choice is supposed to play a different movie. The whole thing works just fine on my local machine but when I upload to the test server, the movies never start. Near as I can tell the SWF loads and functions fine but the movies dont work... constant loading bar. Of course, I want them to stream in a YouTube-like fashion. I've fought with this for some time, tried .FLV files directly in DW (no joy there either) so I'm stuck. If I replace the movies with images, the SWF functions just fine. Just can't seem to do the movies.
