Im just wondering how you can rotate "star2_mc" to the other direction?
I have the following code which works quite nicely but in Clockwise direction. I would like the movie to rotate in a opposite direction which is Anti-Clock direction. How to resolve the problem?The following is the code:
// Adding mouse event to our movieclip!myMovieClip.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, rotateMoveClip);
// the rotateMoveClip functionfunction rotateMoveClip(e:Event){ // e.target is the

given the x & y speeds, how do i calculate the direction of movement?
View 3 RepliesI am horrible at maths and I would like to ask how to make an object ex. an arrow turn into direction of the mouse?ENTER_FRAME and some mathematical functions, but I cant tell which and how to use them.

Here's something I've started:
ActionScript Code:

import com.greensock.easing.*;

what i have is a circle image (for this purpose lets say it looks like a clock). For example: when you click 3 o'clock, the whole clock needs to rotate around with the 3 o'clock btn at the 6 o'clock position (with the pivot point in the centre). each of the 'time' positions (2 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock ...etc) needs to be a button and thus be able to rotate around to the 6 o'clock position.This would seem simple enough by just using a.rotate value or using tween movieclips...however the tricky part is:the actionscript needs to determine which way the clock turns (anti/clockwise), dependant on where the clicked time-btn's position is. it needs to be some sort of if statement that says:if (3'oclock-btn) is positioned between 0 degrees (being original 12'oclock position) and 180 degrees (original 6 o'clock position), then rotate clockwise to the 6 o'clock position. If the (3o'clock btn) is positioned between 180degrees and 259 degrees (12 o'clock position), rotate anti-clockwise to the 6'oclock position.

I am updating source code I came across to AS 2.0 and I am having problems with the tweens. Here is what I am trying to accomplish in AS2.0:[URL] Here is the part of my updated code I am having problems with:

This is my problem: (1) I want the top image to tween to the right and up in X and Y direction and also slightly rotate. THEN I want it to tween back underneath the other stack of pictures in center of swf. However what is happening is that the depth of the topimage is being set under all the pics right away and the tween takes place under all the pics and not ontop. Is there a way for me to wait until the tweens are done and then execute my swapDepths line? Here are problem lines in detail:

Is it possible to rotate movieclip, while dragging, according to mouse direction and mouse x, y on that clip.
on the picture the 0, 0 of the mc containing red box is where the lines cross, the mouse point is indicated with cursor and around it is the circle where clip's x and y should be constrained and movieclip should rotate according to mouse movement direction for example: when mouse is moving straight down then the clip's x, y rotates up and stops when its 12 o'clock...
in a .swf object, i rotate pictures in one direction : clockwise (+90°), with the eventRotateHit function. It works!
I need to create a counterclockwise (-90°) function : eventRotateHit2. This function doesn't work : the picture disappear. I think it's because the rotation center is false, but i'm not sure. And i don't know how to change it.
My code :
package Classes.image
{
import fl.controls.Button;

What I really want to know is how to rotate the symbol based on direction of mouse movement
View 1 Repliesi have a scroller developed in as2. it basically scrolls continuously in a direction until the direction of the mouse is changed. the images of course loop in the continuous scroll. now the problem is that for 10-15 photos its ok. but when i feed it with 180 photos, it seems to show only 11. why would this be? any restriction on flash ??
View 1 RepliesIt is really nice to see the new text direction for TLF but i have one problem with it.We are trying to localize our flash application using strings. so far we follow the traditional way of translating each string and assign it with ID. Our 2 main languages are English and Hebrew. The problem is that for english we need to use LTR direction while in hebrew it is RTL.in a big flash application were the number of tlftextfields are big it is impossible for us to change the direction for individual tlftextfieldsin .

have a ball with the name of mc which can be moved using the keyboard .. when you press the left mouse button shoots the ball, this ball and the other flies in the face where the cursor was in the shot .. but if you move the cursor to another location and shoot a second time then the second ball is also flying in the direction of the cursor and the first ball change direction toward a second shot ..
ActionScript Code:
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.display.DisplayObject;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
[Code]....
how to make that first ball did not change its direction and continued to fly in the direction of the shot?
I create a TLFTextField object at design time and need to change its direction at runtime, how this could be possible? the following code did not work and simply ignored: var myText:TLFTextField = MyText;myText.textFlow.direction = "rtl";

Is it possible to add drop shadow to plan views of vehicles (vehicles are png images as MovieClips) such that as the vehicles change direction along roads (also png images) the shadow is always cast to north west ot the vehicle ? Buildings in the base png image have shadows but vehicles also need them so as to belong to the scene and not appear false.
Is there control over opacity and softness ?
If I were to have plan views of humans walking would the shadows follow the leg movements ?
the raft floats along the river path, but once it makes the first turn,it is floating sideways to the riverI need the raft to turn to facedown river at each turn[URL]
View 2 RepliesI want to make a movieclip moves smoothly and when it changes the direction, it can turn smoothly but not a sudden turn, I try out the code below. and the truning is odd:
this.rotation = (Math.atan2(targetY-this.y, targetX-this.x )/Math.PI)*180;
Is there an option to rotate a shape 90 in Flash CS5 Professional?
View 2 RepliesI'm animating an atom so I have an electron circling the nucleus in the x direction. I've added a motion blur in the x direction which I like. The problem is that I'm then using AS3 to duplicate the animation and randomly rotate it. Now even though the electron is moving up and down the blur is still horizontal. Is there an easy way to fix this? I've tried making the blur a movieclip inside another movieclip but it always blurs only in the x direction.
View 3 Replieshow to make a rotating cube for my website, today i tried to make that cube interactive such as making each side of the cube a button. so what i did was instead of using movie clip symbols to construct the cube i used a series of button symbols. the problem soon arises when i tired to fold the panels into a box. It seems adobe flash does not allow me to rotate a button symbol. when the symbol type is "button" all of the rotating parameters under transform are greyed out but as soon as i change it to movie clip i can rotate it.
View 3 RepliesI've got a 3D model at hand, which I have imported as a movie and an image sequence of each frame depending on which is necessary. I basically would want to rotate it by 360 degree both on the x and y axis on a canvas as well as having that done manually, such as having to drag my mouse to control which direction the model rotates in. Can I do this in Flash?
View 5 RepliesI have an animated logo for a site. I want to rotate the logo, so that the entire animation takes place, so to speak, on its side.
In short, I want to rotate every single frame of the animation in exactly the same way.Basically, if there is some way I can change it so it takes length as width and width as height I am sorted.
Simple animation..I want to rotate a circle with a cut in (looks like pacman).I want to rotate i 1 x clockwise and devide this animation in 4 parts. so if you think of a clock it goes, 9, 12, 3, 9, ...The rotation works perfect until i start adding the keyframes and adjusting the rotation, at some point it always goes wrong.. insted of going the right way (clockwise) the circle starts to move counter clockwise.. I have to add some extra keyframes to keep the rotation on track, this result in a not so smooth rotation.
ps: Just to make my self clear, it happents only once you start to manualy rotate and adjust pacman - this is a must since i have to have keyframes in certen points (when the packman is at 90 degree rotation) [URL]
Would like to develop simple (in browser) puzzle games where shapes (such as a puzzle piece shape) can be simultaneously dragged and rotated, then dropped on the screen or canvas. The game mode would be to click and drag the shape or object, while simultaneously rotating the piece using arrow keys Is this possible in Flash? This simple general activity of simultaneous drag and rotate, then drop, is my intended overallweb site game basis. I'm new to Flash but have developed Windows executables for many years. I'm trying to decide whether to purchase and learn Flash as platform for interactive educational puzzle games running in browser windows.
View 4 RepliesWhat seems like a basic question, but my flash knowledge is basic. Can I rotate an entire flash animation/document before/when exporting it as a (swf) movie? (The movie is going to be displayed on a plasma digital sign, which is turned 90 degrees so it displays vertically, but the creative must be supplied horizontally).
View 2 RepliesI'm using CS3 with ActionScript 3.0. What I want is simple, and I've done some searching but nothing that can get me the right results. I'm going to post a link that does exactly what I want:This rotates the circular object around a center point in a way that you can distort the object yet is still remains turning in a circular motion A simple motion tween rotating the image will only work if the object is perfectly round, so distorting the object to make it more straight or curved won't work with a simple tween. I want to do exactly what is happening here (with my own object), is there some AS3 behind the scenes here making this turn on a center point??
