seen a few different as 2.0 code for a drag and drop, doesn't have the smoothness of as 3. Anyone have a link to drag and drop multiple movieclips, no target necessary. Just a smooth drag and drop.

I am trying to make a quiz on metals. I have several elements which i want to fall into multiple target areas (e.g. the target areas are shaded grey in the following swf; metal_mc, nonmetal_mc, metalloid_mc). I can make individuals match to target areas (as there are tutorials for that) but i want each one to be able to slide in to any target area (and someday i want to create a solve button which will then place each element in the correct place). have started all over and have designated only chlorine to move (for the moment) but how do i code it to allow it to fall into any of the grey areas?

im creating a small drag and drop game in AS3-
I have 4 objects and 4 targets,
I want to be able to drag any of the 4 objects onto any of the targets, right now all I can manage is to allow each object drop onto one specific target only.
I thought by calling all my target names by the same instance name eg target_mc that would work but only one target will ever work.

I have been trying forever to figure out how to add multiple mc's (images) with different instance names to 1 target only (another image). All of the mc's and the target are placed on the same layer. All I want it to do is snap different images to the same target. I have tried placing the target on a seperate layer but it does not work either.

I want to create an interactive learning module that would use a simple drag and drop test. I've already browsed the net for guides and it led me to monkeyflash.com that gave me a very helpful guide. On the guide, there can only be one object be dragged to a target. But then, I wanted my test to have multiple objects (movie clips) be dropped on a single target (also a movie clip) only and stick to it. I'm thinking that I could place my draggable objects on an array, but I really had difficulty on executing this.
On the code below, a drag object can only be placed on one target only (i.e dragIn1 can only be dropped on targetdragIn1 but not on targetdragIn2). Yet, I want all dragAt objects be dragged on all targetAt, dragIn with targetIn, and dragOn with targetOn.

I am expirimenting with Flash Web Sites, and I would like suggestions as to a starting point for my project, and I am assuming a Flash website is where I would start.Basically, If I were to open up a web page, I would like to see multiple animated objects. For example, if I were to simulate an Emergency Room, I would have an EKG displaying a heart rate, then perhaps see a breathing maching apparatus moving up and down, a Drip bag (sorry, don't know the real term), dripping into a patient's tube. And of course, if I were to roll over an object it would animate, and if clicked on more animation or on to another page.
I tried creating the animated objects in Fireworks, and I thought I could combine various Firworks files into one, but it didn't work (too many frames), either becasue I lack the knowlege of how to do this or simply it cannot be done that way in Fireworks. I had a background with one animated flashing object (that was easy), but combining multiple independent objects, I could not figure it out.
Someone suggested that I would have to use Action Scripts, which made me realize, I don't know the best way to accomplish my example above, and although I know I may be over my head, I would just like to get direction as to where I should begin.
Should it all be in Flash in the first place? To continue on with the example above, after a user clicks on the rollover image, a girney comes rolling in and we are giving choices on a monitor with what our next actions should be, which would take us into another page. (this is just to give you perpective of what I am trying to accomplish).
Should I create independent animated objects (files) in Fireworks, then somehow import them into their specified location in Flash.

I'm planning to add a page to my site that would have sample music from a variety of artists. There would be several sentances about the musician, then a free Flash mp3 player I'm using. I'm planning at least a dozen of these on the page. I didn't anticipate any problems, but a page where I had done something similar suddenly stopped working. Nothing I've tried will fix it. I don't want to go ahead until I find out if there are details I need to know about having multiple Flash objects on a page. I've an SWF which loads dinamically six FLV files controlled by actionscript code.My goal is to guarantee a smooth playback, so I've to do a global preload of each file.So, I've created an array. Each element of this array contains a custom objecte named PreloadFLV that contains a reference to a NetStream object in a field named flv_ns.To process the preloading, I do before a NetStream.seek(1), then NetStream.pause() and then with a Timer I check the percent progress.When the percent progress is equal to 100, I start the clip.This is a small piece of code:

I have played around with the Dynamically Loading Bitmaps With Smoothing from Tinic U ro as well as somme other advices from people on the kirupa forum. The code works great. I am trying to load different Bitmaps, fullscreen, on the click of a button (or any other event). The images load, but they just stack on top of each others and thus, they don't resize to the stage properly. I'm Trying to develop a small game where the user chooses from a range of boxes of the left of screen and can drag 3 of them separatley to 3 holding boxes on ther right. each box can be dragged to any location and the order is not important. Once the 3 holding boxes are all full I want a new button to appear. I completed a tutorial and I've got one box working perfectly but no matter what i try I can't get it working with multiple boxes and locations. Below is a list of the instance names of the movie clips plus my actionscript. I've attached a link to the flash file.

I'm making a Multiple Drag and Drop in Multiple Targets educational puzzle for 6-7 y/o kids that tries to teach them a bit about which plants grow in which environments in the country. So, I have a map of Mexico divided in 3 diferent zones: desert, forest and tropic, and 6 different plants (of 3 different groups: cacti, pines and tropical flowers, 2 of each) scattered across the stage and around the map. The goal is for the kids to drop the plants in the right zone and then to click a "verify" button that triggers a validation process. Each of the plant's movie clip has 2 frames with a stop(); action on each: the plant graphic spans across both frames and the second frame has a red error sign over the graphic that indicates an error has occured (if that's the case). Then the validation process triggered by the "verify" button is supposed to move the playhead of each wrongly placed plant move clip to the second frame to show which plants are misplaced and move the main timeline's playhead to a frame that contains a "Please try again" text and a "Restart Puzzle" button. If all the answers are right, an animation plays saying that it was VERY WELL DONE! .
I searched the internet for some tutorials and found a file that is pretty close to what I need. I've tried to adapt the code to my puzzle but have failed miserably. The file is here if you want to check it out (scroll to the bottom of the page, it's called Soldier.fla). I'm not pasting the code here because it's VERY long, but I will if required. If you want me to upload the files somewhere else and link them here, I will. If you need me to send them to you I'll be glad.

I have a movieclip that I want to be resized when a button is clicked. I want the animation to be smooth as if it had weight though. I read the tutorial on this but I need something slightly different, I would rather it where I can just refer to a function that is set in another movieclip. That way I could easily refer to it again and just set the height, width, and if possible, x, and y.
And my second question, is how to keep the border of my movieclip that is going to be resized the same thickness. I want the inside to be resized but the sides to stay the same width but move to stay on the edge.

I'm creating this simple strip crawl of logos (1920x95). It's a about 40 logos in one strip that I imported. I created a tween that scrolls the logos right to left lasting about 1 1/2 minutes @ 24fps. When I export the SWF file the scroll is not smooth and there is all types of small jerky movements.

I currently have an over, out and click event for 8 different objects. The over and out events are identical for each (tween expands object and then shrinks it back for the out state).I have previously asked for an easy way to declare those events, and now I was looking for an easier way to handle them.

I have a main Flash movie that preloads three external SWF's just perfectly.Everything is great...except the 1st movie is not smooth and really slow, the 2nd movie is a little better, and the third movie is the best.It's a rather simple Flash portfolio...I'm thinking it could be a stacking issue-but I've approached it from so many different ways instead of wasting my time shooting at thin air, I thought I'd give this forum a shot.How can I make these three movies play smoothly?I've attached the main movies FLA just to assist.
