I am trying to create a simple menu bar with 3 levels of sub buttons,what i done is :- created many movieclip buttons, with rollovering them get other movie clip (subbutons), at first it seem working but at third level of subbutons i faced problem: i can rollover only twice same button and after that all submenu's automatically gone and i cant understand why..
I have a flash header on a client's site that was done and I'm trying to edit the links on the submenu for camps can't seem to find the code to edit the links and take away a link.
I have an .flv file that I was able to extract from a YouTube video. The video belongs to a friend and she wants it on her site without the YouTube wrapper it now has. I want to put it on her website and have it play automatically when the page opens. I cannot get this to work. I can get a link to show and when I click on it, it prompts me to save it or play in media-player or such. Then it will download and start to play.What I'd like is for the page to just start playing the file when the page opens.
I've seen sites where a .flv file is hosted and when going to the page, the video just plays. I've never worked with these files before. I have worked with Flash some and created .swf files for the web. Never, just a .flv file.
i have this application which has a preloader, when i try to publish it in html the preloader automatically sets to 100%, i need play the application first before i can see it load,
is there a setting in here which i can set the preloader to run automatically?

I imported a video in my "about me" section of my website with a skin chosen from within flash. However, when I click within another section of my website, for example "Home" and go back to the "about me" section, the video starts playing automaticly. If your speakers are turned all the way up, you will jump.
What is the code I need to add to my video's actions layer to stop the video from playing automaticly and give the the user the ability to play the video themselves?

I'm having an issue with exporting my fla file to flv within Flash CS3. The picture quality is perfect, but for some reason, it keeps disabling my audio. Is there a setting for audio that is optimal? I've tried almost every setting there is, even the highest setting (44kHz 16 Bit Stereo), but to no avail.
I am making some animations with shape tweening. I actually need it for my presentation.There are five layers of almost same shape of objects. The first two layers and shape tweening works as I expected.But from third layer, something weird happening. As I do shape tween, the layer becomes two moving objects: one is acting as I wish, but the other same object rotaing in x-direction.
(Flash CS3, Dreamweaver CS3, Mac OSX) I can encode Flash video, and place a nice skin (controller bar) into the file, within Fash, but when I place the final .SWF file into my Dreamweaver page (Insert-->Media-->Flash), and test it in a browser, the vid will play automatically and there is no skin (controller bar). The skin file is residing in the same folder as the .FLV and the .SWF file, but for some reason the skin refuses to allow itself to be seen.
I purchased a template from template monster that has a Flash Intro. It has a header with a previous and next button and three photos.When the site loads up the first photo drops into place and text flies out from the sides of the photo then when you hit the next button the next photo drops in with its text and so on.I was able to change the photos and text and all works fine. What I want is for the banner to automatically rotate these three images and texts every 4 seconds or when someone hits those next or previous buttons.
Right now the images/text only move if you hit the next or previous buttons. In dreamweaver I set the Flash to autoplay and loop but that did nothting.

I am currently developing a chemical formula application that receives input from a user directly from a text area.My problem is displaying this input with subscript (eg: H20 with the 2 displayed below the baseline). Subscript can be entered when developing the application, but can it be displayed when the application is running? Is there any way I can apply subscript to numbers that are entered automatically?
I would like a student to enter some text, highlight the characters they want in subscript, and then click a subscript button that calls some actionscript.

I have asked this question in another forum but haven't got an answer yet. I have just started using Flash CS5 recently and have a question about the classic tween. I have noticed that when I make a classic tween Flash automatically makes symbols out of my grouped objects. I have worked with previous versions and it was sufficient to just group my objects on the stage to make a tween. Is there a way to turn this feature off? I'm an animator and it's very annoying and messy to make a symbol out of all the objects I want to animate.
When I add a tween (CS3) I always used the Properties panel and choose "motion" from the tween settings. This way there's no symbols added in the library. Just noticed that there are also tween symbols added if I add a tween using right Mouse click or via the menu Insert>Timeline>CreateMotionTween. Never used this before. But I can't seem to see any tween settings on the properties tab anymore in CS5.

The problem is it doesn't dissapear once the video plays. How shoudl it be done, the whole video has to go to another frame with no play_btn on it or there is a code which can make it fade away?
I created a website in Flash, published it, and uploaded the swf and html file to the server. When bringing up the website Flash doesn't play automatically. I first must right click and select play. When I was testing my flash site on another server, it worked great and played automatically. Is there something within flash that I need to modify or is this an issue with the server?

What I ask for is there a way to link one of the buttons on the submenu to navigate you to a certain place (up or down) on the scrollpage? creating a Nav with a submenu. Basically it needs to work like this: When you roll over the first button.. the two buttons below it slide down a bit and 4 buttons appear below that.. this needs to stay visible as long as you are rolled over the main button or the submenu.. I can't seem to get the events right.

Flash compiles with the following warning: Warning: All instances named 'head' will be automatically declared as JessHead in symbols that use Character as their base class. In symbols that are linked to user-defined base classes, instances with the same name must be of the same type. And then the runtime error:TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert EmilyHead@3a0d1e81 to JessHead. at flash.display::Sprite/constructChildren() at flash.display::Sprite()at Character() I can turn of auto-declare stage instances in the Actionscript 3 panel, but then I have to manually add a public var for all sub-child's, such as the head sprite. But then at least everything works as expected. This is more setup than I'd prefer to do, but everything else about this workflow is very fast & easy. What can I do to sidestep this error, while keeping the same workflow?
