Feb 24, 2012I have a CD that I'm trying to market that contains swf files created in Flash. How do I get them to play on a Mac with Lion OS?

Nov 10, 2011After upgrading my OSX to Lion my videos on my portfolio site have been showing up as black. The sound is still there though.
I read that disabling hardware acceleration could fix it, but in Flash player 10.2 I was unable to click on the settings button that did that. I upgraded to player version 11 and I was able to disable hardware acceleration and my videos started working again.
Funny thing is that the youtube video player worked fine on both player versions, suggesting that there is something that can be done code wise to circumvent this glitch.
Flex :: Adobe Air Badge Installer Not Working On Firefox And Safari On OSX Lion
Sep 21, 2011We use a custom Air Install badge to install / launch an Air application directly from the website simillar to
TweetDeck
This normally handles the install of air if the user doesn't have it already installed.
However, after doing some cross broswer testing, it appears that when a user, (using OSX Lion and Safari or Firefox) tries to click yes when prompted to download the required Air they are unable to click either of the yes or no buttons.
I initially thought that it may have had something to do with the positioning so ensured that the z-index in the css was appropriately set but to no avail.
I beleive it may have something to do with the installer itself rather than my implementation as the same thing appears to happen on TweetDeck too.

Professional :: Flash CS4 Can't Open .fla Files Or Lose Files/graphics?
Mar 20, 2010I installed Flash CS4 Professional trial version for school use. It wouldn't install successfully. I deleted the font files the troubleshooting guide said to, tried again, but gave up. (I'm afraid to run regedit and mess up everything else I have loaded.) (I previously had the Fireworks CS4 trial version loaded, then uninstalled it.) My problem is this- I have it running, but it saves files and then they can't be opened, even if I use the save function often- it's worse when I create the file, test the movie and then save.If I try to open it again, it says "cannot open file." Once it opened a copy I had saved, and it appeared blank, even though it was 544 kb file size. I only need it for a few more days, one more assignment and I'm afraid my previous files are corrupt. I have Windows Vista Home Edition.

These scenes would be individual SWF movies that I could import into my final Flash file in consequential order and when finished I would have a completed Flash Movie. There would be no interaction beyond Play/and replay. Where can I get information on how to construct this and is this a recomended way to do it?

I need to simply create "swf" files from a number of videos I have finished in Premiere Pro 5.5.
These videos are 800 x 600 videos that display at "point-of-sale". The spec is swf and not flv.
(I do not need to do anything else in Flash apart from create the video file with the swf extension.)

The rest of the page (html) displays without delay, but there's always about a 1 or 2 second lag for the swf. Professional :: .as Files Greyed Out In CS5?
Nov 28, 2010I'm obviously doing something fundamentally wrong here, but in CS4, to make an .as file, I just chose to make one and started inserting code.
In CS5, when I chose to do so, or try to open a previous .as file, all my coding is greyed out.
How do I access my code, or add new code?
Professional :: Can't Seem To Attach The Flv And The Files?
Dec 22, 2010This file has been supposedly changed from As2 to As3. It seems as if it used to stop when I first got it. But the links didn't work. When I followed troubleshooting protocols, it started looping non-stop.
Please help. I can't seem to attach the flv and the action script files. All I get from the output window is "Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts."
Professional :: Can't Open Swf Files
Jan 26, 2011I have downloaded Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Shockwave Player to play some swf files I have downloaded. These files still say that Windows can't open them though and I don't know why. I've tried uninstalling reinstalling etc but the computer doesn't seem to know the Flash Player is there.

Feb 10, 2011My students and I enjoyed importing .mov files and tracing over them as we would embed them in the timeline in flash CS3. This year we upgraded to CS5 and I am finding that we cannot import the .mov files.
Does anyone have a solution for a pipeline like this. Flash seems to want us to convert the files to .flv or something.

May 5, 2011Usually when I am looking for a specific field name, section of code or variable, I will run a GREP regex search to search through my ASP files, which works great as they are just stored as plain text, however I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to do the same with ".fla" files.
The GREP search looks through all my files in one go and returns a list of files which match the search terms; but wouldn't work on .fla files as the actionscript is not stored as plain text. Possibly this would work if I converted all my ".fla"s to use seperate ".as" files but this would be a lot of work and I'd rather avoid it if possible.

Jun 4, 2011Not sure that I understand how the Reader engine for AS 3.0 handles "load" requests. Following is a problem that I try to solve for a customer: there a three - 3 - swf files, each contains a short video of 10 sec's in full hd, stage is 1920x1080 px, let's call them a,b and c
The request is the following: start with swf a and let it run, loop, and during that time offer the possibility to select or swf b or swf c to run in stead of a when swf b runs, loops, offer the possibility to select or swf a or swf c to run in stead of b idem for swf c or with words: each of the swf's offer the possibility to invoke one of the 2 other swf's.
I tried various code snippits, and when running a it starts b but a contineous to run, so it seems ihe engine does not pass control to b. Maybe I have to put everything in 1 swf? But that is not what the customers want, he wants the 3 swf's.

Jan 18, 2010I have a .flv file that has several images in it. However, I do not have the original images. There is an image in the .flv file that is a transparent image. How am I able to copy and paste it or do whatever I can to transfer it to photoshop so that I can save it as a transparent image?
It appears there is no way to do this. It looks like I must have the original images in a .flv.
