Stream MP3s With Embedded Images?

I'm new on FMS, but I've managed to create a web page with an embedded player that shows a live stream that I capture with a webcam and FMS. What I need is to be able to pause the live stream from the web page player and to play it again from the point I've paused it. I thought to stream a live video and save it to a file on the server as well, but I don't know how to tell the player to start from the end of the file rather than the begining of it. The client should connect to the page and see the live stream, but he can pause it and continue watching it later from that point, but if a different client connects, he should see the live stream.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to stream images (single jpg) from webcams into a swf. I know little about actionscript, and what I have so far is from what I have found in other posts around the web. My first attempt worked, but caused a bad white flash between the image being refreshed. So from others I have learned that this will happen unless I use two movie containers and buffer in between them? Here is the code I have, and it does not work.

I don't get any compiler errors. I think this is as2, but I am not sure
Say I have something like this:
[Embed(source='../lib/images/image01.png')] var Image:Class
But I want to change that images based on another string like so:`
[code]...
But this gives me an error, is there another way to do something like this?
Each character in my game has a status icon. The image of the icon can be one of a number of images that I embed with the executable. What is the proper structure of such a class? Say the class has the embedded images of a Star, a Square and a Circle, I want the class to display only one of the three shapes at any given moment, but can switch to a different shape as needed.
The class has:
o 10 embedded images
o 1 sprite object
o A public function that allows one of the ten images to be displayed when the sprite object is drawn. inside the class I create an array of 10 images and use addChild for each of them. To display just one, I make the other 9 invisible. What is the proper way of doing this? Should I call keep just one sprite object and call 'new' each time I need to switch the image? is there a way to enumerate the classes so that I can switch by calling something like this:
ActionScript Code:
icon.AttachImage("Star"); // Where "Star" corresponds to the class that holds the embedded image.
I was just wondering what are the pros and cons of using embedded images instead of dynamic loading? Because when making games on pure AS3 (without Flash IDE), its a pain to manually embed all the assets needed... That makes your code sloppy, besides you don't have control to automatically change the hud, for example, by only changing the external file.
But I heard that some sites only let you upload a single swf, so you can't have external images. Also I heard that some are worried about users downloading their art... But as far as I know, they can also download them if they hack the swf with a decompiler. Having it external, you can encrypt the image, and unencrypt it on the code, so if they try to download they will only get encrypted code.
I have an Image component with a source set to an embedded image. When I load this module into a shell module, the image doesn't show up. Why? I have to put an instance of that image into the shell module's codebase just to make it work. That shouldn't be, right?
View 1 RepliesI have a FlexLib Project with a embed class:
package
{
public class EmbedAssets
{

And I have another Actionscript Project that use this FlexLib Project and add the Visual class on stage:
package
{
import flash.display.Sprite;
public class AsTest extends Sprite
[code]....
The image don't show up, just.I had debug the application and found the bitmapData of aa was NULL. But if I implement out of Lib Project, this work!In properties of projects ai tried a lot configurations on Flex Library Build Path -> Classes / Assets. But none work correctly.
I need to protect images embedded in a swf file. I've noticed Swf Encrypt scrambles the images, like so:
How is something like this achieved ? How does image scrambling work ? I've noticed the image is stored a bitmap. Not sure how information is stored.I imagine it would be possible to use something like AS3SWF to access the content of a swf, but what would I need to change for the image swf tags ? I don't know much about security/obfuscation/encryption, so any tips will be handy. The programming language for this shouldn't matter much.
I want to do something like:
Main.mxml
<s:HGroup id="animals">
<s:Button name="dog">Dog Name</s:Button>
<s:Button name="bird">Bird Name</s:Button>
<s:Button name="cat">Cat Name</s:Button>
</s:HGroup>
[Code] .....
Do I have to extend the Button component or how should I proceed?
The situation is, this resize code has always worked for me because I was using local images. I am now using a third party admin which feeds images through an application/octet-stream.
Whereas previously, I was loading the image with the Loader::load method but I am currently using the Loader::loadBytes to load the binary data because I am being fed a stream instead of an image/jpeg.
By switching to the stream, the code now fails to get past this line:
resizedImageData.copyPixels(e.currentTarget.getChildAt(0).bitmapData, cropRect, new Point(0, 0));

I've been asked to write a standalone slideshow app which supports images (jpg, etc), video (divx, avi) and webpages (embedded html, rss).
I've done some digging and it looks like flash with flash air could be used to produce a standalone app which would run on both windows and Linux.
Before I start this long (and difficult) process, are my assumptions correct?
I have a TextField and I am trying to display embedded images using htmlText:
var test:TextField = new TextField();
test.multiline = true;
test.wordWrap = true;[code]....
In this case the raftImg is in the Assets class. The problem is that the image does not align as it should (it always stays in upper left corner). If I load it using "../ blah/ img.gif" it works properly.
I can view it in my browser by going directly to the file however when it is embedded the photos will not load. The images it loads has to be in the same directory as the .swf file and as i stated it clearly works when going directly to the file but not once it has been embedded.
View 1 RepliesI made a .swf that loads a .xml file from a directory called "xml".That file lists the images that are to be loaded into the .swf.The .swf is embedded into an html file.The issue we are seeing is that if you don't include "www" in the url, the images don't get loaded (??!).But the .swf is running, and all the html and css works.If you use "www" in the url, everything works perfectly.[code]
View 1 RepliesI posted a question similar to this not so long ago however I have trawled through the forums and could not find an answer...I am using Lightwindow which is a version of lightbox that can have ANY form of content and DOES support .swf files.I have linked the test link on my page to activate lightwindow and open the swf file. Light window opens the window to the correct size but does not display any content. If I go directly to the flash file then all the test images load.Here is the code for that link:
<a href="http://www.monsterbox.co.uk/ollie/lightwindow/gallery/gallery.swf" class="lightwindow" params="lightwindow_width=800,lightwindow_height=345" >Link Name</a>
I understand that something along the lines of

I have an AS3 swf which users can upload jpg images to my EC2 instances which sit behind and Elastic Load Balancer. The jpg images are converted into bytearray data and sent using URLLoader.load(URLRequest)I make 2 calls when uploading, one to upload a large version, then another to upload a thumbnail version. A PHP script to which the bytearray data is uploaded converts this to a file using file_put_contents($destination,$GLOBALS["HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA"])Is it possible to combine these two requests into a single request which contains both the bytearray data for the large and thumbnail images and 'split' the HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA to create 2 files at the server. This would be better than uploading the bytearray for the large version then using something like ImageMagick to resize the resulting image into a thumbnail which I realise is another option.
View 1 Replieswhen the embedFonts is removed, it works perfectly as expect. Otherwise when an image is clicked, it selects the whole text around it.
testtext.htmlText="Curabitur dolor eros<a href='event:test'><img src='003.jpg'></a>eget odio.</p>";
testtext.embedFonts=true;
did anyone come across this before? is there another way to make an image clickable inside a dynamically loaded xml text?Alternatively can anyone suggest a method to style dynamic textfields instead of using html?I've tried with many different fonts, and many different stylesheets, its still the same.
If I write a flash application that sequences different sounds in flash, does anyone know a way through actionscript or a third party program to get flash to export an audio file?
View 1 RepliesDoes anyone have a good example of an application that does this. I am actually looking for away to load the mp3 onRelease, unless its better to load all the mp3s at the beginning. However I was thinking that would take too long.
View 8 Repliescould I use another array to say 'milk', 'baby', 'yes', 'ball', 'bird' as the words appear using short one word mp3s?

var words:Array = ['milk', 'baby', 'yes', 'ball', 'bird'];
var step:int = 0;
var readTime:Timer = new Timer(500, 1);

I am building an 8 track Flash audio mixer where the sounds for each track are selected by the user from a list component and then loaded into a Sound variable at runtime.This can be done while the mixer is playing or stopped, and of course, it adds a lot of flexibility for making music.All actionscript is in external .as files and sounds are looped using the SOUND_COMPLETE event.So far, all loading/playing functions work perfect, but I`m having problems with gaps at the beginning/end of my mp3 files.I was told this was an inherent problem with mp3 files, so I tried using MPTrim to clean the silence up.I also tried starting the loop a bit late - sound.play (80, 1) - but the results are usually inaccurate and unpredictable.
When I import a wav file into the library and then export it as an mp3 file embedded in the .swf file, it sitll has a short gap.When I built a previous mixer in Flash MX (actionscript 1) there was no gap and all sounds looped perfectly! Of course, in this later case, all sounds were embedded inside movie clips on the stage and scripting was done on the timeline, so maybe that made a difference.I have spent long nights trying to find a solution to this, but to no avail.I read a blog where the writer went through all the steps I have and just gave up, but I know there is a solution.I have seen this sort of thing done on Flash mixer sites before (even sites with full-on audio sequencers) so I know it can be done.
I have been using the new version of Flash since it came out in May or June and have had no problems with sound file import. Now today all of a sudden I can't import MP3s - I get an error that says it can't import the file, but nothing further to help me diagnose the problem. I have downloaded these from the web from a company that records files - the same company I have used before with no problems. The old files from them still work, but the new files, and recent MP3s I've downloaded won't work. I tried downloading on another machine with Windows NT but that didn't work either. I have had a programmer work with the MP3s to make sure they were indeed formatted as MP3, and those files won't import either. I am on Windows 7 Pro. I also turned off my firewall in case that was the problem, and still no resolution.
View 2 RepliesI originally posted this wrongly in AS3, I'm writing a small mp3 player. It reads the playlist from an xml file, then at the end of a song (or when the "Next" button is pressed) automatically plays the next song in the list.
My problem is that if the song is a large file (around 16MB), the player doesn't play the song -- I have to click pause then play a couple of times to play it.

I need to pre-load multiple external MP3s. I have a preloader on my flash piece that preloads the SWF file and shows a progress bar and all that jazz. I am using the Sound class to load all the MP3 files when I need them (they are voice overs).
Is there a way to hook the preloading of those sound files into the preloader that I already have and then just call them up when needed?
I use a free web host for a site but they don't allow uploading of mp3 files (they filter and block them)
I want to offer visitors a choice of background music that would have to be streamed or loadMovied'ed as mp3 files, here lies the problem.
I thought a work-a-round would be to have a small empty movie off stage that contained the swf music file but I then thought that someone might have a more elegant solution.
When you use loadMovie to download a swf file into a parent movieclip, what's the best way of initially filling the parent movie BEFORE anything is downloaded, assume you use attatchMovie - is this correct ?
I am working on a game, and I am using MP3s within the SWF file to load at certain times. In order to make them loadable, I have set up the Linkage properties to : -Export for ActionScript -Export in first frame The problem is, that it loads all the MP3s before the preloader even shows up, so there is a lot of time of blank screen. But when I take of "Export in first frame", I am not able to load the MP3s during runtime. Is there a way to access the MP3 files without exporting them in the first frame?
View 2 RepliesJust installed Windows 7 RC (7100), and got the latest Flash player for IE8 and Opera. My site [URL] has a music player I created that plays (streams) MP3s from a Flash Comm Server I run. The player works fine with Flash Player version 10.0.22.87 on other platforms, but not in Windows 7. Once you pick a song, it should start immediately. Even clicking the play button doesn't work. The symptoms make me think there's a problem establishing the netconnection for streaming. Wondering if anyone else has Windows 7 specific problems with Flash player?
View 3 RepliesWill the FLVPlayback Component (version 2.5.0.15) play an MP3 file without it having to be streamed through a Flash Media Server? All I'm looking for is to place a player into my Flash that plays an MP3 file that's in the same directory as the SWF.
Here's my code... it's pretty simple:
import fl.video.FLVPlayback;
var myMusic:FLVPlayback = new FLVPlayback();
myMusic.source = "mySong.mp3";
myMusic.skin = "SkinOverPlayMute.swf";
myMusic.skinBackgroundColor = 0xCCCCCC;
addChild(myMusic);
Before you get all worked up about seeing the same question again...let me tell you this.. I DID use the search function and I DID find some interesting things...but just not quite what I am looking for... As the Subject title suggests...I am looking for a preloader for dynamically loaded mp3s... As in the tutorial on kirupa I let the mp3s stream but still there is a little gap before they actually start playing-probably worse on smallband connections
