How can I calculate Frequency & Amplitude in As3 with FP9. I got the all raw byte using
[Code]....
Keeping it simple for now but assuming i have a ByteArray full of sample data is it possible to calculate the average frequency (thus a pitch) from the entire recording? Is this along the right lines? p = 69 + 12 x log2(f/440hz) ...
View 1 Repliesinstead of the audio coming from an mp3 file via aURLRequest, I want the audio to come from a NetStream originatingfrom a Flash Media Server.The ultimate goal is to have multiple netstreams coming ineach with their own audio amplitude bar being displayed.This is being written in Flex 3 using Actionscript 3."To control the audio associated with a video file, you canuse the DisplayObjectContainer.addChild() method to route the audioto an object on the display list; you can then create a Soundobject to control some aspects of the audio. For more information,see the DisplayObjectContainer.addChild() method."but theDisplayObjectContainer.addChild() method doesn'tprovide any further information and I cannot figure out how to usean AS3 Sound or SoundChannel object with a DisplayObjectContaineror a NetStream.
View 5 RepliesMy loader component works when I publish to Flash Player 7 but not when I publish to Flash Player 8, why? The publish setting are for ActionScript 2.0 on both.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to create a flash player to display images in sequence using Flash player & ActionScript. The code below has lots of errors and I can't work them out. I have programmed in other languages and am perfectly aware that something like this.
*code*var imageLoader:Loader;imageLoader = new Loader(); // 1120: Access to undefined property imageLoader*/code*
OR*code*var imageLoader:Loader = new Loader(); // 1046: Type was not found or was not a compile-time: Loder*/code*

I have a swc plugin embedded in my product to stream live video to a group of recipients.The plugin uses the NetStream, NetGroup and NetConnection objects, the server I use to handle the RTMFP session is Influxis.One client creates a group as a publisher, and stream a live video.His Camera is enabled and I can see the video on the screen as well. The others connect to his group and play the video.Peer assisted Networking is enabled for both the publisher and the recipients.The plugin worked well in all 10.x versions (10.1/10.2/10.3)However, when upgrading to flash player 11.x, it stopped working.
-11.x to 11.x isn't working.
-10.x with 11.x isn't working.
-only 10.x to 10.x is working.
The server I use to handle the RTMFP protocol is Influxis.com I sent them the same question as well.The weirdest fact is that I'm using flash builder 4.6 with 4.6 sdk, which is aimed for flash player 11.1, and it is only working with 10.x flash players.
I'm having a performance problem that seem to be related to Flash Player 11.I noticed this mainly because Chrome auto-updates the flash player. So, it's now up to 11 in Chrome. During a sliding section transition, the flash player chokes and skips about 10-20 frames. In essence the content jumps, not a smooth transitions. You can see this at the following url. Using a browser with 10, plays as intended, a separate browser with 11, chokes and jumps ahead.
firstworldproblems-[url].....I have security sensitive site, that is more elaborate that I can't share here. But, the same issue is happening above.I'm using LoaderMax to load assets. Adding it to the stage and then animating them in from the left or right of the stage, using Tweenmax. The one I can't show is a series of images, 1280x640 pixels, 10 in total.Removing items from the stage when they are not visible, so I can get the CPU usage back. On Flash Player 10, this is working as intended.On 11 it jumps. I don't think it's the removing assets from the stage that's choking the player, because the above link has the same issue.I feel like this is a Flash Player 11 performance issue.

I use this script currently to determine the difference between two dates:
[Code]...
The problem with this is I want to monitor the actual physical day change so if someone accessed the application at 11:59 PM and then came back 5 minutes later this would register as a 1 day difference (a new day), this current script requires atleast 12 hours to have passed between two dates for it to register as a new day.
I have thought about using the date number etc, but because months and years are so different it is quite a complex route, there must be something simpler.
I have this code :
var a:Apoint = new Apoint();
a.x =0; a.y=200;
addChild(a);
var b:Bpoint = new Bpoint();
b.x =275; b.y=100;

I as this working in AS2 and need to update to AS3...shows that AS3 doesn't like sloppy coding. Here's what I need: I pull data from an XML and that works when I put the data into a dynamic text box. However, I can't seem to get the date of birth into a variable. I have some code that calcs age in years but uses a string literal that I thought I could just replace with a variable from my XML...ain't a workin'. Here's the code I have:
ActionScript Code:

import flash.text.*;

I'm pretty new to Action script and I have a problem here that I can't seem to figure out.
I have this Action Script Code which is attached to a simple movieclip, and it all works IF the general settings are set for Flash Player 6.
It does not work for Flash Player 7 or above, which is probably because this is Actions Script 1 Code...
I attached the .fla file and also here's the code:

In some cases, such as what my client wants - Flash 6 and Flash 7 players behave slightly differently... a very annoying thing at times.Now, what I need to be able to do is to detect what version of Flash Player the user has. This will be done while my flash application is playing and then run the appropriate part of the function I am writing.Any way to detect what version of Flash Player is running from within the Flash Player?
View 3 Repliesmy concept was I have webcam. My webcam is able to catch an image. Whereby, the flash will calculate the overall color of the jepg. And it will resize and place it to the nearest color of the main background color.
View 1 RepliesI need to calculate the intersection between two shapes in flash / action script. The problem is I can't access the shape's nodes and segments, and their coordinates, so there's no way I can calculate this. Do you know a way?
edit: further explanation: I imported irregular polygons from an EPS file to a movieclip with shapes in it.The mathematical solution to the problem is trivial, but to do that, I need to access by AS code to the coordinates of the nodes that make up the polygons, which I tried with no success. That is what I'm trying to accomplish.
edit2: dismiss this question. It's not possible. The workaround I'm applying is to save the polygons in SVG and parse them to get a list of nodes. then will feed that list to flash to calculate the intersection and areas on runtime.

View 1 RepliesI am interested in creating training that track and calculate data and then give detailed results based on responses. Is there a way to create, track and give that feedback in Flash? Something like personality test tracking.
View 3 RepliesIs it possible for Flash debug player to show Flash website online a bit different than what the normal Flash player shows?
By different i mean...the content of the liquid Flash website instead of playing right in the middle it shows a bit off center.,

View 3 RepliesI would like to know how the following ActionScript, that only works in Flash Player 6, can be updated to work in a Flash Player 10 file.[URL]As it says, "On Publish Settings set Flash Player version on Flash Player 6, or this movie will not work."It works fine published as FP6 but not as FP10 as I need it to be. This AS is added to a movie symbol that contains a button for a rotating menu effect.

I'm trying to calculate the time it will take a movieclip in Flash to decelerate to zero. The starting speed will vary, but for purpose of example lets say[code]...
View 1 RepliesI know this is possible to be done using javascript, and I presume I could get the values to flash calling js, but I'm looking for any AS3 library/code that does the same.

here is a very simple code

var mc:MovieClip = new MovieClip()

how to build a timeline scrubber that can scrub more than one scene.
1. Scene 1 had 20 frames
2. Scene 2 had 20 frames
3. On scene 1 I put the slider that scrub the timeline. The totalFrames; sum all the frame from all the scene.
4. When i scrub the slider to frame 21 error occurred saying that the slider couldn't be found. So i paste the slider in scene 2.
So how to continue scrub on scene 2? How to make a slider that can scrub all scene and move along showing the current frames?
Does anybody know a purely PHP based way to alter the frequency of an MP3 file?
A client's website is utilizing a Flash based MP3 player to play some audio.The client is producing the audio herself.
The trouble is that the tools that she is producing it with, and is familiar with, automatically produces MP3 files with a frequency of 48000hz, while some versions of Flash have trouble playing anything with a frequency differing from 44100khz.
I have an array with duplicate values (strings) in it. I would like to have a function that i can call with the string-parameter and returns how many times this string is in the array.
View 7 RepliesRecently I asked this question: How to get the fundamental frequency from FFT? (you don't actually need to read it) My doubt right now it: how to use the cepstral algorithm? I just don't know how to use it because the only language that I know is ActionScript 3, and for this reason I have few references about the native functions found in C, Java and so on, and how I should implement them on AS. Most articles are about these languages) The articles I found about cepstral to find the fundamental frequency of a FFT result told me that I should do this:
[Code]...
I have the following:
package {
import flash.display.MovieClip;
public class Ratio extends MovieClip {
private var counter:Number;
private var frequency:Number;
private var ratio:String;
[Code] .....
This outputs something like:
0: true
1: true
2: false
3: false
But what I would actually like is:
0: true
1: false
2: true
3: false
i.e. more even dispersion (alternation)...is there a way to do this?
On my website, I display uploaded PDF files in a flash player for my users to read. I already use various tools to extract the text and produce a serious of high quality images from the file and the system works well. The last piece of the puzzle is to be able to highlight specific parts of the document to help users with accessibility issues.
However I cannot figure out how to calculate where the specific text is positioned on the page? Notes: The documents uploaded to the system are from 3rd parties, so fonts may be embedded. Meaning that I cannot be sure of the width of specific letters. The text to be highlighted may not be unique, the same text may be repeated How can I calculate the coordinates, height and width of a specific piece of text on a PDF, so that I can then draw a box around it?
