In my current implementation, if an Exception is thrown in PHP, a FaultEvent.FAULT is indeed dispatched on Flex side. The only problem is that the exception's message string is nowhere to be found in FaultEvent.[code]...

View 2 RepliesI am using a custom java exception to provide the flex client with more info than the exception itself. My exception extends Exception and it has a attribute with the needed info for the client. Well, my problem is the following: when I build my exception if I invoke super() or super("message") the flex client can access all the info properly. But if I build the exception with a Throwable cause, super(cause), then the flex client can only access to stackTrace.

I did have the capability to compile my mxml files via the browser on my local machine. I've had to do a reinstall but now I'm having problems trying to compile.My current setup is:
WAMP 2.0i
- Apache 2.2.8
- PHP 5.2.8
- MySQL 5.1.36
FlashDevelop 3.0.0 RC1
Win XP
I've tried compiling in Firefox 3.5, IE8 & Chrome but all receive the same error:

I've followed the instructions from adobe:

In Flash AS3 i wanna write the single try catch block in order to catch any errors in whole class. For ex, i have a lot of functions in myClass.as. I don'w wanna write in each function try catch blocks in order to catch errors in this function. Is there any methods to do this?

I retrieve all my BBB, they are mapped from PHP classes (generated by Propel) to AS3 classes on the Flex side.But when I create a AAA row in the database.I retrieve all my BBB, and all objects are mapped EXCEPT the BBB whose id corresponds to the foreign key in the inserted AAA row.
if you know anything about how AMFPHP / Propel / Flex are dealing with Foreign Keys and why class mapping is failing right here.The weird thing is that it seems to happen only for this specific case ...

View 1 RepliesI am using remote object in flex to call a method in amfphp. I have project setup properly with a services-config.xml in d src, d end point uri pointing to the gateway.php. After testing on my localhost everything works fine but when I copied my files to a remote server repoint the uri in d servies-config and then recompiling the application gives a sending failed error.

There is huge problem, when I have file written in polish (which contains some special characters) because amfphp transfers this contents few seconds, which is to long (reading and sending content of file without any polish character if fast).My php code reads any files fast, so problem is on amfphp side. I'm loading external data from a txt file into a MovieClip. It contains data that is crucial to the presentation viewing. It is necessary to load, not right away but at some point (the sooner the better). When the txt is on the same server it works instantly, but I'm loading data from another server.
Two problems: the onLoad code is stuck if the file doesn't load (connection problem, server down?) and in offline mode what happens if the data is purged out of browsers cache (history problem)?
How can i handle these exceptions?
1. Some code that uses a "timer" to periodically try to load the data again if the connection is slow and the txt doesn't loads the first time?
2. When it doesn't load at all, and the onLoad fails, how can I simulate notOnLoad - exception for data download fail? And retry the dataLoad?
I've already made cross-server data loading possible using crossdomain.xml policy.
The site is still in development. This problem occurred when the server which contains the data.txt was down due to maintenance, and when one of the test-visitors was downloading so much in the background that his connection didn't had enough bandwidth to load data correctly (browser thought he had connection problems).
I have a BorderContainer with some instances of spark Line. I need to select this lines by clicking on this. But adding event mouse click listener fails. ASdoc [URL] says that line have only activate and deactivate events. Any best way to detect whether line clicked (use another line class?). I think that catching of clicks in the bordercontainer is bad solution.

Moreoever, if I use a Flex component in a web application, where there is also html and Javascript, I'd still like to be able to grap global keyboard events, even if the embedded flex component (in flash player) does not have focus. So is there a reliable method for connecting flex applications and components (when they're embedded in a web page) to keyboard events?
Suppose I have an application and a global event listener in it. Should the key events, who are fired in the PopUp, be caught by that listener? Or maybe popups are not placed in that hierarchy?Here's simplified test-code for you to understand what I'm talking about:

I am displaying a combo box in something of a WYSIWYG preview. I want the user to be able to click on the combo box and see the options inside, but I don't want them to be able to change the value. I tried using preventDefault() on the change event but it doesn't work. I don't want to disable it because I do want the user to be able to "look inside" the dropdown.
So I'm trying to block the change, but can't. My next resort is to change the selected index back to what it was before the change, Is there any way to do this within the scope of a ListEvent.CHANGE event listener?
Current Workaround is to basically re-assign the controls selected item the same way I am defining the selected item when I originally build it (a default selection). So a user sees their change then it immediately changes back to the default selection.
When using flash remoting with amfphp, what can I write in php that will trigger the 'status' method that I set up in my Responder in Flash? Or more generally, how can I determine if the service call has failed? The ideal solution for me would be to throw some exception in php serverside, and catch that exception in flash clientside... How do other people handle server errors with flash remoting?
