I am very comfortable with the netbeans set of shortcuts and want to know if there's any AS3 IDEs that would support them.[code]...

View 1 RepliesI'm using Eclipse and I'm wondering what the best Eclipse/Java/Flexbuilder code review tool is. If it matters we're using SVN as our SCM. Here are the following I've come across: Jupiter - seems like it's been around for awhile it looks like there is only a single developer on the project and the documentation mentions rather old versions of Eclipse IBM's Collaborative Code Review plugin for eclipse - seems like its a proprietary code review tool so not sure it will be supported in the future (or have the ability for a community to assist in development). Eclipse COLA real-time shared editing - Not really a code review tool but more a way to view/edit files peer-to-peer style allowing code review like collaboration. View 7 RepliesEclipse has a built in functionality to find unused variables (and methods too I guess). Flash Builder 4 is built on top of Eclipse but it doens't have that functionality. Do you know any plugin to achieve that functionality? Also, if you know any other kind of plugin besides SourceMate to improve Flash Builder let me know.

I'm teaching a class for Flash CS3 on the Mac to about 24 students. I've been using Flash in Windows for a long time, but it's been awhile since I worked on a Mac.Our classroom has about 24 iMacs running the latest OS X (not sure exactly which version). Several Flash keyboard shortcuts don't work -- shortcuts that I use a lot, like F8 to convert to symbol.I was able to successfully disable the goofy Mac search feature that takes over another common Adobe shortcut that I use a lot (CMD-Space, in Flash/Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign it allows you to temporarily access the zoom tool). In the System Prefs control panel, there was a shortcut for F8 for some other system feature, but even with that disabled, the shortcut still doesn't work in Flash.
Another strange thing that's happening with most of these Macs: the Properties panel popup for creating a tween doesn't work. Applying a tween in other ways --- the Insert menu, CTRL-clicking and choosing from the popup menu -- works fine. If a tween is applied with the properties panel, the tween appears as broken (dashed line) in the Timeline.

The flash content seems to be disabling the arrow key (or any keyboard shortcuts for that matter) page advance in acrobat.
Someone in the Acrobat forum mentioned adding "stage.focus = null" but I don't seem to be having any luck with it.

You can easily export Flash keyboard shortcuts in a HTML format but how on Earth do you import them? There simply is no visible way to do it in the keyboard shortcut panel? How do I go about doing this? (I'm using CS5.5)
View 0 RepliesI've migrated to FDT from flashdevelop and kind of have a hard time getting things to work the way I'm used to. In Flashdevelop, you could easily choose if the compiled swf was a release or debug version. In FDT however, it seems like there is no way to compile a version that has debugging information without it automatically opening up the debug perspective with a ton of debug windows, a profiler and actually entering debug mode.
As an extra plus, I keep getting a message saying "This feature is only available in FDT Max", although from what I know the debugger is included in the free version. Is there a way to do what I'm trying to do or should I just get used to this new way of working?
I understand that Flash supports subtitles with cue points and XML files for flash video. First, I don't know if that would work for a flash animation, and second, I'm looking for a much simpler solution. I am more than willing to manually add and time my subtitles myself on a new layer. What I need help with is finding the simplest way possible to make these subtitles toggle-able. Why? Because I seem to have a serious allergy to ActionScript, and though I can master programs like 3D studio Max and After Effects, I seem to screw up even the simplest of Actionscript jobs.
Is there some way I can make a button that simply makes my subtitles layer invisible across the whole thing? Maybe a command to change the font to a blank one, or to move the titles off screen? There has to be SOME sort of trick that won't require me to drop a load of code into each instance of text. I'm currently using Actionscript 3.0 with Flash CS4. I'd also love to have a pause button that would also stop any music or sound effects that are playing, but after struggling with that for years, I seriously doubt that's going to happen. I did google this subtitles problem, and search flashkit first. Nothing but VIDEO subtitle stuff, and I'm almost positive it wont work the same for a regular animation.
CS3 -> CS4 transition newb here who's getting increasingly frustrated with the new motion tweens; however, for this project, I'm working in a 3D space and require using them, so I'm dealing with this bit by painful bit. I found the tip about Split Motion, but first question: how do you apply Split Motion across several layers at the same time? I have six different tweens, and in CS3, I used to be able to shift-click or click-drag across frames and apply a command to all of them (for example, hit F5 to add frames), but Split Motion is requiring me to right-click on each and every layer. This is really laborious, and I worrySimilarly, I tend to add custom keyboard shortcuts to each of my Flash versions for commands I use frequently and don't want to right-click a menu for (such as "add motion tween") - however, I can't seem to find where to create a custom shortcut for either that, or Split Motion.

Unfortunately, I can't convert the format since it originates from 3rd party servers. I can't rely on HTML5 video since not all browsers support this format and the encoding it contains.
I've already tried several players such as JW Player, Kaltura, Video JS, Projekktor, and more. Testing them with Firefox and IE, some of them couldn't play the m4v file at all, while others downloaded the entire file before starting to play it.
I have few questions related to apps developed based on flash air for ios.

I've tried JWPlayer from my app (C#). It works well, but I can't seem to find cookie support. I need to send a cookie or else the server will return 403 Forbidden. Is there any commercial flash player with cookie support (or I'm missing something in JWPlayer's doc)

How to add Flex to eclipse IDE
View 1 RepliesI am looking into using FDT (I currently use FB4), downloaded the free eclipse plugin, version 5.0, and configured it. I was trying to figure out how to compile a css to a swf file with it. This is super simple in Flash Builder, e.g. right click the css file and choose Compile CSS to SWF. I looked around and there is info on doing it via command line etc. Is there a way to do this in FDT eclipse plugin?
