I am designing a web application in Flex 4 and currently facing an issue rendering advanced HTML tags and entities in Flex 4. All I want to do is basically render an HTML text coming to me something like the one given below:-
[Code]....
I would like create a text area with code highlighting in flex. Is there an advanced textArea witch suports css for real. For example:
myHtmltext:String = '<span class="keyword"> #include </span>';
myTextArea:TextArea = new TextArea();
myTextArea.htmlText = myHtmltext;
I have created a widget for flash that retrieves the xml rss feed and displays whatever information is in...the title, description, image, etc...Im having a problem to retrieve some very specific information from this XML feed... take a look at how the xml is configured:
HTML Code:
]]></description>
</item>
[code].......
Trying to get a text field in my Flash MX movie to pull from and XML file with CDATA tags to show as HTML. I've checked the box to render as HTML for the text data field... but I'm having problems with the Actionscripting.
The field from this line is what I need to recognize as HTML reading CDATA tags:
this.ref["textField"+i].text = subnodes[3].firstChild.toString()
I know I need to do more than just change it to ".html" instead of ".text" and have tried a couple things, but nothing seems to work.
Code:
//Create the XML Object
myXML = new XML ();
myXML.load(newXml);
[Code].....
I have an XML file using CDATA and trying to pull my image in. Ex:
Code:
<ingredients><![CDATA[<img src="test.jpg" width="304" height="466" align="right" />Ingredients: Water, Carrots, Celery, ....
My text field has all the ingredients it needs in order to pull this image in i.e. multiline, render as html etc.
When I compile my swf I can see that the text moves up and it looks like the image wants to be pulled in and yet it doesn't show.
Things I have tried: Variatons of the file. PNG, JPG, GIF Moved the file into the same folder as the XML file
I have a flash banner that I want to replace with a static image if the clients browser doesn't have flash enabled.
I was wondering if I can do this with php
I just found infos about flash player 10.1 and p2p streaming.
View 1 RepliesI am new to the Flash platform. My work is on Java. But, I need the help of a flash file(.swf) in my Java application to work with. So, I came to here to listen my doubts like this in this forum.Can we pass relative-url using ActionScript 3.0 with Flash?I have worked with absolute-url till now[WHICH IS IN BOLD] within localhost server only. And my sample piece of code looks like below:[code]
View 3 RepliesI read Flash 10.1 supports HTTP adaptive streaming.
View 1 RepliesI'm making an application with SL/flash charts and am wondering if there is a way to test if the browser it's being pushed to supports silverlight or not (ipad/iphone). And if it doesn't, then I can use some kind of AJAX chart in its place.If this is possible to interchange platforms by testing against the host, how would I do this?
View 3 RepliesI want to use a fallback solution for HTML5 / flash audio players.
I wonder if I can use jQuery to check if HTML5 is supported.
I know there is .support() [URL]..but I'm not sure which would be a bullet proof check.
I understand that Flash supports subtitles with cue points and XML files for flash video. First, I don't know if that would work for a flash animation, and second, I'm looking for a much simpler solution. I am more than willing to manually add and time my subtitles myself on a new layer. What I need help with is finding the simplest way possible to make these subtitles toggle-able. Why? Because I seem to have a serious allergy to ActionScript, and though I can master programs like 3D studio Max and After Effects, I seem to screw up even the simplest of Actionscript jobs.
Is there some way I can make a button that simply makes my subtitles layer invisible across the whole thing? Maybe a command to change the font to a blank one, or to move the titles off screen? There has to be SOME sort of trick that won't require me to drop a load of code into each instance of text. I'm currently using Actionscript 3.0 with Flash CS4. I'd also love to have a pause button that would also stop any music or sound effects that are playing, but after struggling with that for years, I seriously doubt that's going to happen. I did google this subtitles problem, and search flashkit first. Nothing but VIDEO subtitle stuff, and I'm almost positive it wont work the same for a regular animation.
How do you make a Flash movie (using Haxe, or Actionscript code rather than the IDE) that supports multiple languages?Can you detect the browser's language?Are there utility classes for managing the strings and selecting the appropriate one based on language?

how can I check this?
I'm looking for a Flash video player that is able to stream m4v files on all browsers. Example file: [URL]
Unfortunately, I can't convert the format since it originates from 3rd party servers. I can't rely on HTML5 video since not all browsers support this format and the encoding it contains.
I've already tried several players such as JW Player, Kaltura, Video JS, Projekktor, and more. Testing them with Firefox and IE, some of them couldn't play the m4v file at all, while others downloaded the entire file before starting to play it.
I have few questions related to apps developed based on flash air for ios.
1. How to add in-app purchase?
2. How to add google admob, or iAd, or any other types of advertisement in my app?
3. How to send SMS or make a phone call?
4. How to add Push notification?
I've tried JWPlayer from my app (C#). It works well, but I can't seem to find cookie support. I need to send a cookie or else the server will return 403 Forbidden. Is there any commercial flash player with cookie support (or I'm missing something in JWPlayer's doc)
View 1 RepliesI'm doing Html5 video play on my project with flash fallback (if it doesn't support html5). But both players are loaded if browser supports both.
<video controls="controls" preload="auto" poster="image.url" >
<source src="video.url" type="video/ogg" />
<source src="video.url" type='video/mp4; codecs="avc1.42E01E, mp4a.40.2"'/>
[Code].....
I tried flashdevelop and the basic flash cs5 IDE, and both fail miserably in the shortcuts department.
I am very comfortable with the netbeans set of shortcuts and want to know if there's any AS3 IDEs that would support them.[code]...
On my file I got an external XML(which I can not edit) loaded into my file. I also have a CSS file for text/link styles which works if I use my own xml file with <span> tags. But the external xml I want to use does not have the span tags so the CSS is not applied as expected... My code looks like that, how can I work it out so I can use the span tags?
ActionScript Code:
textfield.htmlText = "<span class='main'>"+"<a href='www.google.com'>"+"My Text"+"</a>"+"</span>"
Also, is it possible instead of the above, to create text link decoration in htmlText without using external CSS?
I have one layer with two tween spans, and would like to have a different symbol for each span. However, I cannot seem to do this without adding a keyframe in between the spans: if I have just the two tween spans, and replace the symbol in one, the symbol in the other span is also changed. What am I doing wrong here? (Using CS4)
View 3 RepliesRecently I've found a nice on-line diagramming tool - LovelyCharts. I like the way UI is designed - you can view screenshot here. I wonder how to make an image that span across multiple components, like the LovelyCharts logo in the upper right corner of the screenshot.
View 2 RepliesAccording to this webpage, the htmlText property in TextArea can handle CSS text style if using span tag. I want to format multiple tags in my code. Something like:
var tags:TextArea = new TextArea();
tags.htmlText = "<span style='color: rgb(165, 150, -90);
font-size: 0.955882610016677em'>street</span>,[code]............
It only gives me plain text. I was wondering if it is supported in the htmlText property and how do I get around this.
I'm referring to the span of selected frames when in "Edit Multiple Frames" mode.
(I've attached an image of the thing I'm talking about.) When I'm editing multiple frames, the multiple frame span "cursor"(?) always follows me around whenever I select a new frame on the timeline. Is there a way to lock it in place or prevent it from constantly changing whenever a new frame is selected?
I have created a motion tween to fade in a symbol on the stage. I have set a there is a diamond keyframe marker at the point where the alpha of the symbol goes to 100%. I want to be able to drag that marker to a later point on the motion tween span (not sure if I have my terminology right here) but I find that I cannot -- I have to delete the keyframe and recreate it at the point where I want it.
View 1 RepliesI am using the galley template from [uRL]..and after 6 menu titles it spans off screen and i want to know is there a way to span down after 6. Header 1Header 2Header 3Header 4Header 5Header 6Then 6 would be here

is there a way to span the text of a link button to 2 lines? so instead of "Save Page" to be in one line only, I want it to be in 2 lines.

I want the classic odometer styled counter but i want to put in some information for it to run with.. A start date, a end date and a number (e.g. meters) which needs to be reached in the given time spanThe odometer should hereafter show the current progress and increased accordingly.So i figured out how to get the time span traced out in seconds and thereby the meter increase every second (dividing: meters/seconds)Now the tricky part is to put these numbers in the odometer: The current progress and the increasement.
