I export a path from Illustrator to an .swf file. I import this file using the Loader class in actionscript 3. Now I want to perform a collision test on this path in Flash. Is this possible? Now as3 performs this test on the whole bounds of the swf file.

I have a map in AI format. I want to use it inside flash zoom in, zoom out movie which I created.
I exported the AI file as swf from the illustrator and used in my flash movie. My flash movie become very slow now.
I've tried to export my vector work from Flash to Illustrator. The result is bad : colors have faded and transparent colors became opaque. It is a shame that Flash doesn't provide a correct export function to
Illustrator now that Flash and Illustrator are both Adobe's softwares.

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to come up with a convenient workflow for importing .ai Files into Flash. While the import works fine, there is one major drawback: If an artist decides to update something within the .ai file, then it is frustratingly hard to make that change in Flash as well, since it is not possible to just "update" any of the imported assets from Illustrator.
There is an "update" function available in flash for imported graphics which are linked to bitmap files (.png, .jpg, etc.), but so far it does not seem possible to kind of link imported assets to an external file and maintain that link.
Or does anyone know of a way to use Illustrator files as a basis, import into Flash, and make it possible to re-import the .ai file and actually overwrite all library items that already exist? Usually Flash creates copies of the imported ai file.
I've been running Flash CS4 (on a mac) for a few weeks now without any major issues. But the last few times I have attempted to import to the stage from Illustrator CS4, Flash freezes up. It allows me to select the file, gives the appearance of loading then the stage remains blank. Menus pull down but all options are grayed out. How to remedy this?

1. invisible!, and
2. moved to the top left corner for the document!
I normally draw all my cartoons in Illustrator (cs5 at the moment), but for a school project I have to animate these cartoons.I believe that I have done this before in Flash CS5 with the bone tool, but this time it doesn't work.I have read numerous of pages that try out the bone tool, but nothing works for me.making the body a movieclip and just import the other filesmaking every part a movieclip (head, arms, legs, tail, etc.)making every part a png or jpeg filegrouping and ungrouping of the vectorIt seems the only option left for me is to draw my cartoon in Flash. View 2 RepliesThis has been a long time question, why, when you bring illustrator artwork into flash does it add so many unnecessary control points to the object? something as simple as a circle with 4 happy control points in illustrator suddenly becomes a 20 control point circle when brought into flash. It has been this way forever and I know that there is no setting to change this?

In particular:I have text that has been effected in Photoshop and a few images that can be brought in from Photoshop or illustrator. Right now I am exporting for web and bringing to Flash. I am working on a website where video quality is very important and the client is delivering me the video already compressed. I then want to import it to flash CS3 and export it as .flv for progressive download with the media playback component. I have done all of this successfully in a sense that it all works but the video quality is not good enough, it's good but the client says it;s a bit grainy. I used the highest setting in Flash, on2 vp6 at 700kbs.
My question is what is the best file format (.mov etc) and what settings should the client use, so I can create the highest quality .flv export from their .mov file? Second question, I used an 8 second buffer but now the client is saying they don't want it to buffer at all. What are the other options besides progressive download, I have never delved into this before?
I am very new to ActionScript. I have a .fla file which contains the AS2 code for the frames. What I need to do is that I have to export this code as a separate file. There may be a separate file(or class file) for each frame code. Is it possible to me do it automatically without losing animation interactivity and functionality? Or is there any other way?

I started exporting the swf with no problem, but the next day i done a lot of editing and adding content, so when i try to exported didn't work, my swf file disappear from my folder and every time i try to exported the swf when it pass about the 75% of loading disappear.
