I've tried to export my vector work from Flash to Illustrator. The result is bad : colors have faded and transparent colors became opaque. It is a shame that Flash doesn't provide a correct export function to
Illustrator now that Flash and Illustrator are both Adobe's softwares.
I have a map in AI format. I want to use it inside flash zoom in, zoom out movie which I created.
I exported the AI file as swf from the illustrator and used in my flash movie. My flash movie become very slow now.
I have created an animation using illustrator files in AE CS3 and now want to convert this to flash so it will play on my website.The problem I am having (or rather my web designer) is getting the transparency in flash.
1. How should I export out of AE
2. Do I need to bring the video into Flash and export out of there to get the transparency?
3. Can this workflow even be done?
4. What is the best way for me to deliver the files to my web designer?
I have attached a movie file of the look I am going for. The birds were done in AE and I want them to move across my home page.

I export a path from Illustrator to an .swf file. I import this file using the Loader class in actionscript 3. Now I want to perform a collision test on this path in Flash. Is this possible? Now as3 performs this test on the whole bounds of the swf file.

ive tried to import it to my movie as a GIF, JPG, PNG, BMP, after using Fireworks to successfully edit the image without losing any quality. but as soon as i C&P it or import it directly to the Flash stage or library, the quality goes right out the window.
What's the best way to bring in an image with transparency in Flash CS4?I have a logo in Photoshop that looks great on a black background. But when I bring it in as a GIF or PNG in Flash, the edges get really jagged.Is there a preferred way to import this so the edges are smooth?

This works, but transparency varies for each element MovieClip separately, but I would like that would have changed the whole MovieClip transparency as a single image.
Menu(); is generated from XML.

View 1 RepliesI have imported an illustrator image into flash (both cs4). It is in vector format (vector smart object-with masks). I want to convert this into a either a button or an MC so that when people hover over it, it changes colour but I cannot edit the image in Flash. If I import as none vector I lose the image quality completely but I do not want to flatten it and lose the transparencies. How I can edit the image in Flash? Also, when people hover over the image I would like text to type itself on what that link is for e.g. HOMEPAGE etc. I have AS for it to work in MX but cannot find anything for CS4.

I am wanting to be able to save or export or print out my swf.. not sure where to Start other than knowing that it will probably require php.
Just doing a 'print screen' on the keyboard wont work because the swf is bigger than my screen resolution.

I am creating a 2dshooting game, and Im loading multiple images of various enemiesfrom several jpg files, but when I display these on screen heimages have a big black square round them. Now when I amprogramming in another language such as OpenGL, if I wanted to getrid of this I would enable an alpha blending function and set 100%transparency for the black colour which I want to hide. So I loadthe jpeg file and store it in a BitmapData variable, and then Icopy this into a new BitmapData variable with transparency enabledand set to 0x00000000 (fully transparent black). I am using TweenMax to animate a PNG with some transparency. With TweenMax, I add a tint to the animation.
When the tint is applied, it obviously only tints the non-transparent part of the bitmap.
Is there any way to force the tint to cover the entire image, including the transparency?
I want to change the color of my image when I move the mouse over it. So I've prepared 2 images and this is the eventListener:

Unfortunately when I move the mouse over, I only see a blank image (error, image not found). However the compiler doesn't give me any error, and I tried to use the same path of the original image, and also to remove "../" in case he is referencing from root directory in run-time. But still nothing. The image is stored there, of course. However if I can apply an effect to change the color from blue to orange to my image (by preserving the transparency), I could solve differently
Would it be possible to analyse a jpeg to see what colour or colours are more prominent and use them for further purposes. One implementation I am trying todo is have text go over changing images, keeping the text the same colour leaves problems with readablity with say a black-ish or white-ish backing. Just something that I would like, not entirely sure if its possible or how it could be done.

I have a bitmap (bitmapData) that I'd like it to change colors over time. I've seen examples of applying a color transform and I couldn't get it to work. Also, with those examples they only apply one color. I would like to animate through the ROYGBIV range.
View 2 RepliesSay I have an image. We'll call it "vectorman". It is a liner gardient in flash that has say "f5f5f5" as the top color and a gradient down to "ff9900". I then turn "vectorman" into a graphic, then into a movie. Now he sits on the main stage with the same colors all the time... poor vectorman. I would like the ability to control those 2 colors of vectorman via an XML file.
I know XML can control css and dynamic text fields, but how do I control the color of an graphic?

I have two predefined colors, 0xFF0000 and 0x00FF00 (red and green), and I would like to set a number of gradiants of colors between these two colors. View 5 RepliesI'd like to export the many pictures I draw in Flash to something resembling the final product (preferably ber-high-res).However, the image export function in Flash isn't what it should've been.Quick summary of my ventures:
Export as .png/.bmp/any non-vector format: There's only 4x antialias, and everything beyond I think 4096 pixels in either dimension is cut for whatever reason. Not to mention there's an 8000 pixel limit.Export as .ai, open in Photoshop: All gradient fills disappear. Transparency is not retained.Export as .ai/.emf/.wmf, open in Illustrator for rasterization: Transparency is not retained.
When I import files from Illustrator to Flash, it seems that my entire image is grouped together and "Modify> Ungroup" is grayed out. How do I separate the different vectors so that they are editable?

View 14 RepliesI stayed out of the picture as long as I could ..because Ifigured there would be confusion and consternation as Adobe assimilated Macromedia's products.Here I am with Adobe Illustrator and Flash CS3,and the disconnect between the two is astonishing! I'll attribute some of my unfamiliarity to my recent involvement with Flash, but still,the vector pen tools operate soooo differently. Furthermore,selected anchor points are black in Illustrator and hollow in Flash polar opposites! The respective tool bars look similar, but often the selected tool behaves in a distinctly different manner, and the palette serves up dissimilar options.
Go the path of least resistance. I'll do my vector work in Illustrator, my workhorse tool of choice,then paste or import into Flash. But then gradients look like poo.Pfffff. (If anyone knows,what IS the problem with Illustrator-to Flash gradients. Is it that Flash Player is still too heavily based on Macromedia technology? i.e. the PostScript is OK but FlashPlayer doesn't render it well?)So, enough rant ...
What are the chances that Illustrator and Flash are better aligned in CS4, at least as far as object compatibility and similaar vector pen tool behavior? I can probably deal with the rest.
