For those of you that use Flash like I do, as a drawing tool, then you may be disappointed to find that Flash CS5 no longer exports your graphics as .ai files. Your only options are .swf, .fxg, .bmp, .jpg, .gif, .png.Often I use Flash and Illustrator together. I'll draw in Flash and export to Illustrator. I mainly use Illustrator when I need text on a curved line. Then I bring that text back in to Flash.
It's odd because one time I just typed in .ai into the filename and it did indeed create an .ai file. However, just now, I tried to do that again and it won't work for me. ALSO... I upgrade from Flash CS3 to CS5 ultimately skipping CS4. The problem is, CS5 only let's you save to legacy CS4. So my CS3 version can't open my CS4 or CS5 files.
I downloaded a flash template for my website. All the library items are not local. Here's the path:..........websites20004sources2007dekabr_#lana_2128flashps d1_ikon.png How can I save my library items so I can edit them in FW? I have CS4.
Im looking for the best way to export an image from flash for print. I will be needing to print anywhere from about 12 inches long all the way up to as much as 6 ft long. Ive tried export> image options but the quality is severely compromised.
I'm working on some generative art projects in AS3, and I keep running into problems with the quality limits of bitmaps. They're not scalable or editable the way vectors are. Is there a class or library that I can use to take a Sprite object's graphics and export them into SVG format? Other common vector formats are also acceptable.
Edit: Note that I'm using FlashDevelop and not Adobe Flash CS.
Could somebody give a hand with this? I am trying to export a flash image to jpeg. I can do it but the image is cropped when I open it in photoshop. This is the original image (is is an screenshot and not exported with flash):
I've tried to export my vector work from Flash to Illustrator. The result is bad : colors have faded and transparent colors became opaque. It is a shame that Flash doesn't provide a correct export function to Illustrator now that Flash and Illustrator are both Adobe's softwares.
I have a Flash Application that sends an image (using as3corelib) to a PHP script that previews it in the browser, which works! But, I would actually like it to permanently save it the a server folder (uploads, etc.) instead of temporarily saving it. I can't find the right variable in the PHP that actually sends the image to a server so it could save it.
I'm creating a flash fun thing where you dress up a character by just dragging and dropping little images, everything is working fine.
I want to add an option to save the image you have created, I can do this but the problem is you have to set a movie clip to capture, the thing i want to capture is a few movie clips layered on top of each other(the finished character).[code]...
my website is flash-only and i have photo gallery, and if you click on a thumbnail it loads larger image in flash, and then you can click on it and see "Save As..." dialog.. you can find a nice example what i am talking about here [URL] and if you select one photo there is "DOWNLOAD IMAGE" :] it's not my web.

I am developing a small flash application. In my application users should be able to drag different elements from a toolbox into a canvas. At some point a user will be able to save the different elements he dragged as a picture.I wanted to know if there is a functionality that prints the screen in flash.
I'm having a difficult time finding any ActionScript that will do the trick of saving an image during runtime.
It's a Flash application where the user can design something, then send it in (to me) for publishing (I figured the best way to do that would be to take a picture JPEG of their finished design using some sort of ActionScript and then save it to my Web Server). I've searched around and found a few examples, but none of them seem to work
This is my first post on this forum, i've just joined because i was pretty sure i will find all my answers here what i want is to save a movieclip as a picture so a client can dowload it to his/her machine.but it doesn't work, because i don't have jpegencoder library. i searched the net for it and i didn't find a way to download it.So, how can i get it and install it on my machine? I'd like to export the many pictures I draw in Flash to something resembling the final product (preferably ber-high-res).However, the image export function in Flash isn't what it should've been.Quick summary of my ventures:
Export as .png/.bmp/any non-vector format: There's only 4x antialias, and everything beyond I think 4096 pixels in either dimension is cut for whatever reason. Not to mention there's an 8000 pixel limit.Export as .ai, open in Photoshop: All gradient fills disappear. Transparency is not retained.Export as .ai/.emf/.wmf, open in Illustrator for rasterization: Transparency is not retained.
