View 2 RepliesI am creating as2 programs in Flash Develop Editor and compling that .as2 file in MTASC compiler, I am not using the FLASH IDE , I want to write a pure AS2 program that should contain any of form elements link Input Box,Label ( we import controls mx.controls.* in Flash IDE) . I struggling a lot in importing graphice controls in AS2 program without the .fla file library, Is it possible to write graphics program and compile in MTASC Complier
View 3 RepliesI'm using Flash Develop to build an as3 application using the Flex compiler. In the constructor of a particular class I have written the following code
Code:
//constructor
public function Test(par1:int, arr:/*int*/Array = [1, 2]){ <----- compiler shows error here
[code].....
There is probably no way for this but does anyone know a method of excluding certain functions from a build by use of a meta tag and or compiler option?I want to expose some functions for testing but not have them bloat the application on production. I could create separate testing classes and test for a complier directive or option and only load them if necessary but I like the idea of having the test function on the actual object (in the class).
View 2 RepliesAfter opening a flash CS5 file in CS5.5 I just can't run it. I saved it as CS5.5 fla-file but I can't start a debug session or anything like that. There is no error message or anything.
View 1 RepliesAnyone know a way to build to Flash 11 using the CS4 IDE?
View 1 RepliesFirstly, is it possible to speed up the process of compile and run (ctrl+shift+enter), because it's so slow and it's very annoying when you do minor changes and you want to quickly see the effect
Secondly, many times at compile & run command flash player doesn't fire up, because it's running in memory for no reason, and there in no flash movie playing, so it's really nasty that I have to keep killing process to be able to run the movie.
Sometimes when I compile my flex app, I got this error
Unable to create source GeneratedAsset31_dataClass. WebCe line 25 1259045578886 1546
But after I cleaned the project, this error disappeared.
It's not a big problem but very annoying and I can not find any clue by search the internet.
I have downloaded a program called "Piecemaker". Its a flash based image/album slider. Package came with a .fla file and some .as files. I want to make couple of small changes (change the hard coded text) in the code and then rebuild the .swf file. Can you please tell me how I can do that? I am not a flash/flex developer. I am a Java developer and looking for some guidance on the software I should download and how to compile/build.
View 1 Repliesim developing an application on windows using flash, compiling in AIR 2.0. This compiler lets me create a .air app or .exe app. Is any way to compile also .app apps? Like the ones who runs on a mac?
View 2 RepliesI have several maven modules (each with a pom)I am looking to compile my swf without first compiling each module into a swc, like i am soing now. I suppose that should speed up the compilation process.
View 1 RepliesHow can I compile the tweenLite library into a swc file in order to reference it instead of copying it into the project folder
View 9 RepliesI want to compile my actionscript to library,and obfuscate this library.Then other person can quote this obfuscated library.
My question is which command can I use for library, I only know to use mxmlc command to compile actionscript as file to swf file,but I want to know how to create a library and other person how to quote this obfuscated library.
is there any way to compile a swf without using the flash ide?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to load a file into flash cs4 that was created in flash cs3. The file is from a site that explains how to make a slideshow. When I load it I get all sorts of errors. I tried other files and got the same problem. One error said that the variable arguments were wrong
View 1 RepliesI'm looking to speed up compile time. Back in the day I used MTASC and it would just update the code of the swf.
Since AS3 I need to publish the movie from the IDE and it takes forever because of the images and fonts in the library.
Is there anything that works like MTASC these days? Or does anybody have a real smart work flow I should consider?
I want to know how can i compile my .fla + .as files to a swf without usingthe Flash CS4 Wizard. This requirement is because i wantto generate automatic builds. I have read about compiling with Adobe FlashCS4CommonConfigurationActionScript 3.0asc_authoring.jar
View 1 RepliesRunning CS4 I have a .fla that was compiling fine yesterday. Today I made some slight additions and it wouldn't compile, giving errors saying that various things were undefined I was starting to go nuts until finally I made all layers in the timeline visible and compiled again. Now it compiles fineJust in case it was something Flash itself I created a new file, hid some layers and compiled and it was fine. So it's not the application, just this particular file.
View 1 RepliesIf you have a very large project Flash CS5 fails to compile it. The same error used to occur in CS4 until the 10.0.2 patch was released. Is this going to be fixed in Flash CS5? Currently Flash CS5 is completely useless to us because of this problem.
View 5 RepliesMy aim is to compile bulk FLA's (say 50). can we compile .FLA's without using Flash IDE using command Line?If so how it can be done.provide with an example.I have used JSFL concept for publishing bulk FLA's. But it will work using Flash IDE. This is not what i need.
View 1 RepliesI have three movieclips, imported as part of a FLA file from inDesign. There are 3 frames in the movie labeled, page_one, page_two, and page_three There is one movieclip on each frame labeled as follows:
page_one had movieclip spread_one
page_two had movieclip spread_two
page_three had movieclip spread_three
there is actionscript on each frame:
on frame 1, (label page_one):stop();
spread_one.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, moveme1);function moveme1(e:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop("page_two"); }
on frame 2 (label page_two):
stop();
spread_two.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, moveme2); function moveme2(e:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop("page_three"); }
on frame 3 (label page_three):
stop();
spread_three.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, moveme3); function moveme3(e:MouseEvent):void{ gotoAndStop("page_one"); }
when I compile in flash, it works.when I compile in air 2.6 I get this error after I click on frame 3 (page_three), in spread_three:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at objecthood_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()[objecthood_fla.MainTimeline::fr ame1:5] at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at objecthood_fla::MainTimeline/moveme3()[objecthood_fla.MainTimeline::f rame3:8]
[code]....
I created another 3 page test spread in inDesign, with only a rectangle on each page and exported as FLA.I used the same code as above and it compiled fine in both air and flash.
I have decompiled a swf file and got a fla file and also all kind of folders including action scripts.How do I run this? I mean if I make some changes how do I convert it back to a swf file?I created a swf file from one fla file but I got a file that was like 20x less in size then the original. I think it was not using the files in the folders.
View 1 Repliesi am creating a web site and when i compiled my flash code so it writing that

I have a main FLA that loads and runs my entire flash/AS3 project. It always seems to take the same amount of time (~3 minutes) no matter what code has changed. Does Flash have the concept of makefiles? Is it always rebuilding all of my code?
View 3 RepliesI have an AIR app initially written in Flex 3 that I had removed the Chrome from, but now it shows up when I compile using Flash Builder 4 with Flex 4 SDK. I have
<systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
<transparent>true</transparent>
set in the *-app.xml file and showFlexChrome="false" showStatusBar="false" showTitleBar="false" set in the tag. The status bar is gone, but I still see the title bar appear.
Event.DISPLAYING Why this event wont work when i try to compile the flashe (CTRL+ENTER)Flash gives me error1119: Access of possibly undefined property DISPLAYING through a reference with static type Class.
View 2 RepliesI'm working in a Flash Builder 4 Actionscript project and trying to figure out how to embed a css file into the project at "compile-time". Just as we did when we use MXML's <fx:Style> tag.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to compile an existing Flex3 project with the Flex4 SDK. I'm getting this error:
Warning: This compilation unit did not have a factoryClass specified in Frame metadata to load the configured runtime shared libraries. To compile without runtime shared libraries either set the -static-link-runtime-shared-libraries option to true or remove the -runtime-shared-libraries option.The resulting file is roughly the same as my old Flex3 compiled .swf file. Playing the resulting .swf file in the Flash Player also gives the following errors:
An Actionscript error ocurred: VerifyError: Error #1014: Class spark.core::SpriteVisualElement could not be found If I set the compiler attribute static-link-runtime-shared-libraries to true, then the error disappears and all is well. However, the size of the resulting .SWF is a couple of 100K's bigger. And that's not what I want.
I don't fully understand the concept of runtime shared libraries, but it seems that with the option to statically link them set to true, the libraries are included in the .swf. However, I like to exclude them from the .swf and only load the needed library at runtime, as my project seemed to do with Flex3 (I didn't know that by the way).
If I understand correctly, playerglobal.swc should hold all the necessary code for the external libraries that my .swf has to load. Do Flex4 compiled files need more libraries? Should I do something with the factoryClass in the Frame metadata tag?
I think my question boils down to this: How do I compile a Flex4 .swf that is the same size as my previous Flex3 compiled .swf?
I've got the Flex SDK 4 on my Mac and I found a way to compile AS3 into SWF files using Flex's mxmlc compiler in Xcode, so I wondered, would it be possible to do this sort of simply online? Using for example a language I'm familiar with, PHP?I thought it'd be a thing that would be interesting to use for a website, or like some private projects.
