View 1 RepliesYears ago, when I was designing a game site, it was recommended to me to do what you pretty much suggested in your answer to a question about Flash sound: put my sound effects as Flash elements. This works great on every platform except the iPad.
View 2 RepliesI have a website that uses flash. I would like to convert the website so that iphone / ipad users can see my website. I understand that Iphone / Ipad can't render flash. What would be the best-practice to convert flash website to iphone / ipad compatible?
View 2 RepliesIs its currently possible to publish a Flash App to iPad? I see Flash CS5 has the ability to publish to iPhone/iPad - is Apple supporting this and will be able to be sold in the App store. It would be a lot simpler for me to code up my next project in flash as opposed to objective c and cocos2d.
View 1 RepliesIve just started messing around with flash cs5 and trying to make a simple app for the ipad and have it eventually on the app store. The thing that has me concerned is that the animations seem to be struggling on the ipad.
im running it at 24 fps and there is zero physics and very simple AS3 for touch to stop animations. But the animations are running so slowly and the sound layer is no longer in sync with the animation.
Does anyone have any experience with this that can advise me on what the issue may be? why would a simple flash cs5 animation struggle as an ipad app? would the file type of the sound files be an issue?
Has anyone succeeded in getting video to play in Flash published for the iPad? I have tried using both the Video and StageVideo classes, but even though they test successfully in the Flash IDE, they do not work on the iPad. I am using CS5.5.
View 1 RepliesWe have a ASP.net 3.5 website with a simple flash video that plays in a banner. What would be the easiest way to update this so that the video would play on an iPad?
View 1 RepliesI´ve built an app for the iOs in flash.I successfully generated de .ipa package but on itunes connect the app shows for iphone and Ipad but i wanted distribute it exclusively on ipad.I think it has something to do with the flash builder options but I can´t seem to find that option on flash builder or on the internet to build exclusively for ipad.Does anyone know to build exclusively for the ipad in flash builder?
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded to Flash 5.5. When I compile for iOS my cursor disappears. I'm using the following code. It worked great when I compiled it on 5.0 but it stopped working with 5.5
player3.x = stage.mouseX;
player3.y = stage.mouseY;
Is there any SWF to HTML5 converter or any format which can run on the ipad? not smokescreen... other alternatives.......?
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to put a mp3 player on my web page and it should work on iPad. So, I learned iPad doesn't support Flash. However, apparently partly it does. I couldn't find the information on this. How is it possible: [URL]. That is a mp3 player working on iPad (when browsing on Safari). However, it uses audiojs.swf (1644 bytes) and without that it doesn't work at all. How can iPad use the swf if Flash is not supported? What is another good free mp3 audio player that works on iPad.
View 2 RepliesI have a website that has a Flash banner. For devices that do not support Flash (like iPads) I want to display an image instead. What is the best practice to deal with this situation? Should this be handled from the front-end with JavaScript?Should this rather be handled from the back-end? (I am using Java on the back-end)

View 1 RepliesI am trying to get the solutions from last month but no better luck. I have created interactive 500 animations in flash using CS3 and action script 2.0. Now I want to play these on iPad.
View 3 RepliesDoes anyone know a way to be able to run a flash website on ipad/iphone?or really we have to no choice to create normal html/css/php site?
View 9 RepliesI'm trying to test a custom Flex 4 skinnable component, using the FlexUnit UIImpersonator class. If I run my tests from a FlashBuilder Spark only project everything works fine. If I try to test from a project with the mx component set on the classpath I get a "getElementIndex not available in non Flex 4 projects" error.Can I unit test spark components in FlexUnits visual test environment while still having the mx component set on the classpath?
UIImpersonator delegates it's method calls to a "testEnvironment".The implementation used for this "testEnvironment" is decided by the VisualTest EnvironmentBuilder class and the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class. If the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class can find the "mx.core.Container" on the classpath it returns a MX environment, else a Spark environment. Only the spark environment has valid implementations for Flex 4 relevant method calls on the UIImpersonator - like the addElement method.
I'm using Flash CS5.5 and have got swipe gestures responding on my iPad. The only problem is that they don't animate and I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck in replicating the smooth iOS swipes using Actionscript 3.0. I found a solution using ENTER FRAME but it was really slow and jerky.
View 19 RepliesApple is obviously rejecting Flash to protect it's 'App' revenue. I've been on Android phones that run Flash and display all my content perfectly smooth. It can be quite frustrating how they are trying to bury it when I still have yet to see HTML5 replicate the type of interactive content Flash is capable of producing. Is there any way to display a message on the iPad when the Flash player is not found? I'd like it to says something along the lines of: "Unfortunately the Apple iPad does not support the Flash player because their business interests do not want it taking away from their App revenue. Did you know that the Dell Streak, HTC Flyer, Blackberry Playbook, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Toshiba Thrive, and HP Touchpad all support the Flash player?"

How would you go about creating a timeline animation for an iPhone or iPad application? I'm looking for something like a timeline animation in Flash. I don't need a technical explanation on how to program it, though.So here are some general questions:
- I read something about UIView for PNG sequences, but aren't these kind of animations resource intensive? And what about filesize? PNG can't be compressed like jpeg.
- What about vector-like animations? These would save a lot of kb's.
- Are there animation frameworks like TweenLite/TweenMax/Tweener/... (some well known frameworks for animations in ActionScript)?
I am using a flash slideshow everything is working fine but that slideshow is not working on Iphone/Ipad environment.
View 3 RepliesWhat format should I make images into, for an App for iPad? (Each image will be a full page of a children's picture book. I'll create a Flash CS4 movie of the book and then convert the movie to an App for iPad.)
View 1 RepliesI usually used as3 in flash to develop game, but I always do for a fixed size of file. But in itunes there are a lot of app work for both ipad - 768x1024 and iphone 640x940 (this size is iphone 4) and even different iphone generation has different size too. So how can i use flash to make one app that can work for all of these devices?
View 1 RepliesI'm working on an Adobe Flash Builder 4.5 iPad application. I have only a humble 13" MacBook to work with. I am being aggravated by the problem of debugging my application in the Flashbuilder's iPad simulator. The FB simulator screen is almost the same physical size as a real iPad, which is too big to fit on a 13" MacBook. Is there some setting in Flash Builder 4.5 that would scale the iPad simulator to fit the available screen real estate?
View 2 RepliesThis seems pretty weird even for Adobe standards. I've set up size of the movie to be 1024x768, which is the resolution of ipad screen in landscape. The stage looks ok but when I publish the swf it goes into portrait mode.
I even used this line of code but it doesn't help.
stage.setAspectRatio(StageAspectRatio.LANDSCAPE);
In the Flash CS 5.5 AIR settings for iOS, in the General tab of a panel, there's a menu that lets you specify the target device:
-iPhone;
-iPad;
-(both) iPhone and iPad;
What happens if I specify the third? That is: I can't understand if I can use the default stage dimensions (iPhone dimensions) or I must eventually create a stage (and assets) for iPad (and it will work for iPhone too).
I am looking for alt for broadcast live from my webcam.i have option to use Flash Media Server but flash is not supported in ipad so what other option i can go with which support ipad/iphones and other mobile devices as well as web.
View 2 RepliesApple says that a 144x144 application icon is now required for the high-res iPad. But adding an <image144x144> element to the application descriptor file in Flex 4.6 gives an error 103: application.icon.image144x144 is an unexpected element/attribute.Is there a workaround for this? Perhaps through the iPhone InfoAdditions area of the application descriptor?
