I'm working in this website so to avoid getting an error for adding event listeners to the buttons when they are not on stage i dispatch and event in the last frame of the animation, event that is going to be listened by the document class. Until there everything works great but when I try to dispatch an event from the document class to the sound class, it doesn't work.

As I'm working on a simple XML photo gallery, I am having a bit of trouble making my Slide class successfully dispatch an MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_OUT event to the Main class.

When I hover over my sprites, the functions inside Slide.as gets triggered - but they don't pass the event to Main.as as I would have expected.
Strange thing is that the Event.COMPLETE gets triggered inside Main.as.
I am adding the same image (play button) to a movie clip those images later when pressed toggle states and play a video.What I am trying to accomplish is automatically toggle the default image since that video is playing automatically.[code]So this does the same thing as click the first image but it happens automatically.[code]

When I place a trace statement within the function it definitely is listening to all the buttons except for the last two. All instances are named correctly. Can the size of the scroller be contributing to why the addEventListener is not working?
View 5 RepliesI created an FLA file that has a control bar (with play, pause, etc.) that I want to appear only when the mouse is moved onto the stage. When the mouse is moved off the stage, I want it to fade.I used the code below but it seems that the MOUSE_OVER event is only captured when the mouse is moved over some object on the stage. When the mouse is over an unused part of the stage, the event is not fired and the control bar remains invisible.barBg_mc is the name of the control bar in the code below.

What prevents Silverlight MVVM to be implemented like Flex ? Doesn't Silverlight have same capability in event system to do the same? If yes why does Silverlight do things more complicated what's the advantages then ? Is it about using Class Interfaces which are more strongly typed? What are the disadvantages also ? For example as for implementing MULTIPLE VIEWS for 1 View-Model does Flex implementation make it also more obvious?
What can I call from within Flex/AS3 that will tell me whether the flex-app/web page is being executed within the local file system or rather was served from a webserver (either localhost or some remote server). Hopefully that's clear. If there's something in Javascript that's acceptable, but some AS3 function would of course be preferable.

A flex app running in a view of my .NET MVC app can load data fine from another route, but submitting data via either POST or GET never invokes the controller action. Interestingly, the only way I can get the action method to fire is by passing intentionally malformed post variables in the http request. Odd. I am making a flash application and I am trying to find function to use when I press the close button of the projector window. I dont want to make a button that uses fscommand("quit") since this would be impractical knowing that a default close button on the window is already available. Anyway the purpose of the function is that when I close my application, a dialog box/message would appear as a reminder that some data has not yet been saved and give the user an option to save or quit the application.

I called, this.unloadMovie(), which successfully unloads the file, but I am still inside emptymcholder, though I actually want to go back into folioholdermc.tener to check for unloadMovie. But my problem is can I place this within folioholdermc, within the onloadInit() or maybe within the on(press) function which actually calls the loader in the first place?? I need to enable the buttons within folioholdermc, and increase opacity, once the imgdesc.swf is unloaded.
