Actionscript 3 :: Find Which Variable Is Undefined? (flash Builder)

A flash application in flash builder is currently throwing this error:
ReferenceError: Error #1065: Variable is not defined.
Not telling me which variable it is that's not defined, but note there are two spaces between 'variable' and 'is'. and it gives me some more feedback as to what lines of code are having trouble, but those lines are all within the actual flash/mxml packages and not any of the files in my own project.
I suspect it's related to my php data/services, but I don't see what variable would not be defined. I'm not very familiar with debugging, so I'm not sure how to determine with it where the problem is cropping up.
I have a lot of strange info in my project in Flash Builder, why ?
"Type was not found or was not a compile-time constant" and "Access to undefined property", "Call to a possibly undefined method " When i go to those class and make space " " and save, parrent class is ok, cleaning doesnt help for long time.
I have inherited an Adobe AIR application, and am attempting to debug it through Flash Builder 4.5. Within Flash Builder, when I look at one of the MXML files, I see warnings for each use of the [Bindable] tag:[code]And there are no missing semi-colons on the lines preceding each warning as per the suggestion in this blog post.The project is configured to use Flex SDK 3.6.Additionally the file will not load in the designer, with this warning:Design mode: Error during component layout. Choose Design > Refresh to refresh design mode.At runtime I am seeing a blank window - which I assume is the result of the bindings not being triggered. Is this tag not available in Flex SDK 3.6?
Eclipse has a built in functionality to find unused variables (and methods too I guess). Flash Builder 4 is built on top of Eclipse but it doens't have that functionality. Do you know any plugin to achieve that functionality? Also, if you know any other kind of plugin besides SourceMate to improve Flash Builder let me know.
I have a text box that receives data from XML. Has activated the service. Everything works fine if i use "taurus" instead myVar in {}. Now I want to change the field and depending on the button is pressed to receive different data. But nothing comes out.
I have two scripts in a View, one script is inside a Component. In the Component script I need to add numbers from data as they are added to a list and then display the total in a label placed in the View.If I declare the variable in the first script, the Component script can't see it and if I declare it in the Component Script the label can't see it.How will I declare it so that everyone in the view can see it?Here is the code, the problem is where should I place the var MyTotal so it can be used anywhere in the view:

We've got several Flex projects, one of which has just been refactored. I'm wondering if there's an easy way to tell which classes and functions (if any) aren't being used any more?
I've discovered that we've definitely got some unused code, because running ASDoc on the entire project reports some compilation errors which don't get reported by Flex Builder (implying that those classes aren't being used any more). I'm hoping to find a more robust and complete method, and preferably one which can work at function level too.
This is the response to my question/error I get, but I don't know how to implement it, It turns out that my issues were caused by having two instances of the same data service class in two different components that were used in the same page. If I changed the components to share the same instance of the data service, then everything works just fine. how to define a service in the main application or elsewhere which can be shared between components?

As the View is presented as a static and not a variable. When you try to submit it as a variable in any format (String, Object) an error occurs.
Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "IM" to Class.
how I can send the (View)Class as a variable or if this is a bug in the SDK
I have a flash assignment that. The assignment is to create an application for playing a card game, I have to create an MXML component that has two variables, one variable stores the image of the back of a playing card, the other variable has t store all 52 options of a front facing card (the second variable will store over 50 images).

In my flex 3.5 project, I have a class (MyItem) extending Canvas. In this I have declared a private variable named itemInfo which is type of ItemInfo (which is another subclass of Canvas).
I wrote code to hide/show the iteminfo when the mouse is over/out of MyItem. I am not getting any error but it is not showing the itemInfo as expected, when debugged the code, surprisingly the variables tab in debug window does not have the variable itemInfo at all.
I have declared a dummy:int variable and it is also not visible.
we have this variable from the internet, val(0), in a dynamic text field we can see a digit from this variable. but when we use this variable in actionscript and test it with trace, the variable shows as undefined.how can we make this work without it coming up as undefined??

Bottom line is I don't always need to peer into SWC's, and I don't like having a 'default package' automatically created for me. Not sure why the interface wasn't made simpler, allowing access to more power and complexity only if necessary. I want to focus on the code, not on how to navigate and use the bells and whistles in the coding environment.
I have an AIR project that I was working on Flash Builder 4.5 which now I'm trying to import to my updated Flash Builder 4.5.1 and it is prompting me to fix some paths before the import is completed. I'm kinda clueless what I should put in those fields.

i have a variable in flash that takes its value from a php file using the print function.
The variable is not returning the correct value. It's returning "undefined". I have checked of both flash and php source code for errors, they both seem the be fine.
I have a situation where I am reading a wide variety of data from an XML file, and if a particular bit of data is not there, I simply want to hide a button. Before I go further, all my XML data in and out works fine, that's not a problem.
If I have this node in my XML: Code: <name1></name1> read it in, assign to a variable and check that variable in the debugger I get this: Code: Variable _level0.assocImageName1 = undefined This is fine. It has no value, so it's undefined.
Now, if I do the most simple of If statements this check just doesn't work. I've tried something like: Code: if (_root.assocImageName1 == undefined) { _root.linked._visible = false; } else { break; } Now the odd thing, is that with quotes ("undefined") or without, this doesn't work reliably. It seems to just run right past the If and perform the hiding of the button regardless.
Also, if I put something in the XML like so: Code: <name1>data</name1> I get this in the debugger: Code: Variable _level0.assocImageName1 = "data" And check for that like this it doesn't work: Code: if (_root.assocImageName1 == "data") { But oddly enough, if I take the quotes off it does work. What's going on there? I thought you also had to always use quotes when testing a string?
I have the class with builder and methods. Can i send function to a builder of class as a variable? I want to set individual functions for some samples of class.
I'm creating a mute/unmute button.I have it working correctly, except 1 part.I want to make my SoundChannels remove themselves when the SOUND_COMPLETE Event is fired.I'm storing my Sounds and SoundChannels in an array called "soundsPlayingArray".I want to do 1 of 2 things.Either:
1) Have my "unMuteAll" function check to see whether a song is "playing" before unmuting it.
2) Remove the Sound + SoundChannel from array (and make them null) when the SOUND_COMPLETE Event fires.
How can I figure out what the instance name of the SoundChannel that dispatched the SOUND_COMPLETE event is?[code]
I need to call an HTTP service using Flex that has variable arguments. I'm using Flash Builder 4 (Gumbo) to create the service definition, but there's no UI for variable arguments, and the subclass of HTTPServiceWrapper that it creates doesn't seem to support it.
I've written a class in AS2 that extends the Object class It's an abstract class for debugging purposes. The class is defined in an external .as file. The problem is that in an .fla file, after I assigned a variable to a new instance of the class, and I trace that variable, it comes back as 'undefined' The reason it's a problem is that I want to call methods on the instance of the Debug objectIn the .fla, I have the following code:

I have a php script that calls a result from the DB and gives it a variable. I then have a dynamic text box in flash that I want to say "goto read.php, find the variable and display the variable's contents in this text box"...
