Actionscript 3 :: Flashvars Not Working On Android Browser
Feb 5, 2011
I have a flex app that I need to pass FlashVars into. It works great on desktop browsers(chrome, firefox, ie) but for some reason the flashvar is always undefined when i load it on my Android browser(webkit on a droid incredible).
Has anyone successfully passed flashvars into a swf on an Android Device?
I am retrieving an flashvars object from JSP file. Like userid = mx.core.Application.application.parameters.userJspid;like this it is retrieving in IE browser. But not in FF (Mozilla), why it's not retrieving is there any code i need to add it for Mozilla specially.
I have an as3 built osmf video player swf that we embed on a standard HTML page. When you touch the image the video automatically goes fullscreen and begins playing. Droid and Flash often break after changing back and forth between landscape and portrait while in fullscreen.(by break I mean freeze, where you can hear the video and use the controls, but everything is just a still frozen image, the redrawing fails).Can you lock the fullscreen orientation in html, javascript, or do you have to try to handle it inside the swf?
I gone thorough the adobe flash builder video tutorials and did the same thing to create an application for android device, but when i run the application it is showing Sorry dialog box saying that, The application Test1-debug(process air.Test1.debug) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. I tried many times but it is not working. Initially i thought no Adobe-AIR in my device, but it is there. I am using Reliance 3G Tab. I don't why it is not working, if anybody know this please reply me.
One more thing, i downloaded one APK (which is designed with adobe flash or flex) file from [URL]..and installed on my android device. When i run that application only blank screen is appearing, but in video they shown, it is working. Why it is happening like this?? Is any problem with my tablet ?? or application ?? or adobe AIR not installed properly on device ?? Like this i am getting too many doubts.
I went through many articles and tutorials and I can't get the FlashVars working.
I'm using the SWFObject to insert the Flash movie into HTML:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> <head>
[Code]....
But the aname variable doesn't exists in the Flash. Even if I loop through all the param values, there is nothing. I tried to add the "aname" into query and it's working. But I really want and need to use FlashVars.
I've been searching everywhere and I can't find a solution. I use swfobject and flashvars and whenever I use flashvars the dynamic text color won't change. If I put my variable inside the fla timeline, the text color changesHere is my setRGB code:
Code: var c:Color = new Color(button4.txt); c.setRGB(0xffffff);
I created a flash menu that highlight the current page button reading a variable coming from HTML. I've set a variable in the OBJECT and EMBED tag using the query string syntax, but I get identical results using flashvars. This menu is working perfectly in firefox, but it doesn't in opera or IE 6. In opera it only works if all buttons are vector objects (?!?!?!?):it doen't work if I import a PNG in the buttons. I've put an IF statement (I already tried to use the SWITCH statement with same results) on the very first frame in the menu movie.
That is part of the source in the LoaderExample.swf. And all I get is a "Parameter text must be non-null" error. I've alternatively tried the FlashVars method using additional <param> and <object> tags but i get the same error. What is going on with Actionscript 3? is this a bug? What am I doing wrong? Do the 5 or 6 tutorials i've read leave some important detail out ?
I created a same script of calling my flashvars in actionscript 3. But when I tried to display my flashvar in actionscript 2, its not working. I did the same thing in calling and embedding the swf. But it's displaying undefined..
Here's the block of code... import flash.external.ExternalInterface; import flash.events.Event; var xmlFilePath:String; try { var keyStr:String; [Code] .....
I was just trying to display the value of the flashvar. I tested it in the browser but it's still not working.
I have a problem with flashvars , when I read the url from browser if I have assigned just numbers to Id (my paramter in url) ,everything works fine, but if my id includes character, then it does not work , I don't want to change anything in flash side in mxml files, I want to do it with javascript
here is my code
<script type="text/javascript"> function getQueryVariable(variable) {
I would like to use Swiffy to convert Flash animations to HTML5.The converted HTML5 output run on modern browsers and iOS device, but doesn't work on Android(below 4).Android browsers supports Canvas and SVG. Then, does anybody know what lacks in Android browser to show the Swiffy output? If I know it, I will try to change Swiffy JavaScript.
The Accelerometer UPDATE event never fires, tho isSupported returns true, when the flash app is running inside the android web browser. How can I make it work?
I have a website with a simple Flash animation behind some text and semi-transparent images as a background. I have used swfobject to embed it and set wmode opaque to make it display correctly in most browsers.For browsers without Flash, the user gets a static background image instead and would not know they were missing anything. However, Android users get the flash background on top of everything as per the known issue with how Flash content is rendered in the Android browser making the site unusable.
I have added a crude browser sniff javascript function to the swfobject code to prevent it from loading for any user agent whith 'Mobile' in it:
<script type="text/javascript"> if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Mobile') == -1) {[code].....
The only problem I have left is for Android users browsing with 'Mobile View' turned off as the user agent pretends to be a desktop version of Safari (I think). I do not wish to disable the Flash animation for all Safari users. Is there a way of blocking it for just Andriod users - even if they have 'Mobile View' disabled?
Possible ideas include:detecting the Flash version with JavaScript or Flash. Does Android use specific versions (version numbers) of Flash which are different from the desktop equivalent? blocking the specific user agents used by Android devices with 'Mobile View' disabled.
I read that using Flash Builder 4.5.1 you can create one application and run it on a mobile device, in Internet browser and in Desktop AIR. However, I created a mobile application and the only option to run it is 'Run as mobile application'. Is it really possible to run the same Flex application in browser and on mobile?
Is it possible to get read access to favorited sites (that have been set using Android's native browser) from within an AIR-application? I could not find an API for this. Furthermore, I didn't find anything about browsing android's filesystem. It seems something like a favorites folder does not exist.
I have a web application, wherein i am using Printjob class to print my flash content over the connected printer.
While browsing the application on web browser (desktop) it opens a print dailog box which is fine, but same application while browsing from android devices is not working..
I am publishing the content using less than the 10.2 version of the flash player.
I am having a problem that only happens on my Motorola Xoom which I have updated to 3.2 through OTA. I have a simple application that uses a WebView to load a small html that has flash content in it. Here is the code snippet.
Just purchased Droid Charge. Trying to use it with Flash 5.5 on Windows 7 to debug an application.Computer recognizes phone USB connection (so I can transfer files...)(Menu/Settings/USB settings/Mass storage enabled)I have USB debugging (Menu/Settings/Applications/Development) feature on the phone enabledI have Unknown Sources (Menu/Settings/Applications) feature on the phone enabledWhen I Publish from Flash 5.5 I get the following message: Could not find an Android device to connect to. Please ensure that you have the phone connected,the correct drivers installed, and the phone has USB device debugging enabled.
I have a project that I want to port to mobile platform on Android and iOS.The project uses a v.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, completePlay) handler to detect when video is finished playing and trigger the next action.
The project is running perfecty when publishing for Air or Flash Player 9 and above.However when just changing the target player for publishing to Air for Android or iOS the following error occours:Access of possibly undefined property COMPLETE through a reference with static type Class.
A considerable amount of space is used up by .apk files on my phone with apps which cannot be moved to the sdcard (Adobe Flash and Google Maps). In those directories, there are .apk files. Can I delete these to save space and have the application work as it did before?
I have following code And it is working fine in AIR device simulator on my desktop. But when I install it on device(samsung nexus with Android 2.3) it is loading nothing.
Code: import flash.media.StageWebView; import flash.events.LocationChangeEvent; import flash.geom.Rectangle; var wv:StageWebView = new StageWebView(); wv.viewPort = new Rectangle(0,0.stage.width,stage.height); wv.stage = stage; wv.loadURL("[URL]");
I recently discovered that the MouseEvents in my Flash animations aren't working on touch screen Android tablets. Is there some extra code that I need to add to make this work? There's an example at [URL]. My other issue is more of a web design issue, but the animations are not placed correctly on the webpage.
So iv been flash designing for about a year now, and i thought i was pretty good, however having never usd the geturl script before i am stumped whats going on. my AS is
Actionscript Code: on (release) { getURL("index.html", "_self");} which works fine when playing the movie in the flash preview (pressing ctrl+enter) but as soon as i publish the movie and view it embbeded in an HTML document it doesnt work. this should indicate its my browser settings? however iv tried disabling my pop-up blocker and still nothing.
I have a swf file that works fine on my local drive but doesn't completely work on Safari (or I.E.). I have 7 buttons on the stage. When one is clicked, it plays a mc. When that mc comes to it's final frame, all the other buttons on the stage dissappear (are set to alpha=0). When reverse button is pressed, the frames reverse and all the buttons reappear. However, when I upload the swf file to my server, everything works fine but these buttons do not disappear like they did on my local drive.
I've done all of these and everything is ok. but I want to do more. I want to play my flash in a web browser and I used publish to html. but my fscommand doesn't work in the web browser! what should I do?
I got the code below, reading a picture from an array.While in testmode or directly opening the .swf it works fine, but in a browser the picture is not loaded.
var listener:Object = new Object(); var mcl:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader(); var holder:MovieClip = item_mc_set.createEmptyMovieClip("holder",_root.ge
